I am currently installing Debian Forky.
Under the password frame it clearly states that (my English ), if password is not set all the Root privileges are passed to SUDO, when the User requires it.
The Root Password is used for System Requirement like INSTALLING Software or erasing a USB or SATA do indicate hardware are under control of the USER.
I am Installing it without GNOME and with only cellphone utility (without root privilege) to whether I can access my cellphone and Hard Disk Data like photos.
I would Report as and when I encounter difficulties.
I cannot access
Synaptic Package manager without the root password.
I only wanted install AbiWotd.
Synaptic Package Manger I reinstalled but the same problem exists.
I think I have to go back and install Gnome and thr cellphone packages.
It was installed under Gnome and this time fire fox is missing.
I am going to install with root password now.
There is a Terminal and I gave my user password and it does not recognize it.
That is why I never use SU for any of my software installation.
It s a pain.
I typed SUDO it gives me helper advice and no password request.
I am posting this using the cellphone utility of Debian and not using Gnome for the first time. Google does not lo in with the Morph brower of the utility due to security reason but my favorites Fireox is there.
