LibreOffice 7.6.. Version

I just installed LibreOffice in my Ubuntu.

While opening it it created two Data Bases for me.

I did not have to remove the old version (of course without the writer) to install the new LibreOffice version .

However, the LibreOffice file is huge, 1 GB plus.

Beware These YouTube Guys Coaching Linux

There are lot of YouTube guys coaching Linux to gullible newbies.

One of these guys did not know what is BeachBit utility which is used for deleting unnecessary files in your hard disk.

He also said the LibreOffice version is old.

I am currently downloading LibreOffice 7.6... version in Ubuntu 23.10.

However stable FireFox in Debian is bit old and I uninstalled it to find a new copy for install but I could not.
FireFox is trying to do many things and it is my favourite browser for over 30 years.
In fact, I log in with them using my email for the first time.
Almost all Linux distributions install it as the default browser and never ask me to register.

FlatPack does not give me any option with newer version.

Dilo was my favourite browser in good old days.

I am using Opera Browser to post this.

There are Brave, Dilo and Private Browser, if one needs extra browsers.

I install them along with FireFox and use them.
Chrome browser of course, I hate.
I have tried to remove it from my android and Google does not give in.
So I have blocked it on my own conviction.

My comment is for these guys who ask for patreon contribution and not the Older Guys most of them much older than me who does make a yeoman contribution to Linux community.

I have given up black terminal work for a long time and always use a graphic installer but I hate Calamara installer.

I am currently installing (I erased it by accident with two copies of Ubuntu) Debian 12.4.0 version downloaded through torrent file at Debian site.
Other sites give 12.3 version.
Debian now supports FlatPack and Synaptic.
I could never get AbiWord from Debian and I am glad that I could do it now with this version.

Beware of Freespire which is based on Linspire

I have just noticed that Freespire has torrent download image.

Please do not download it. It does not report its Linux credentials!

I have had very bad experience with them long time ago when I was using Windows as my base and learning the basic  of Linux.

Then it was named Linspire and I traced the guy (probably a windows guy who was hired to discourage Linux users) to India and warned him, if touches my hard disk, there will be consequences and he changed the named to Freespire.

It is long time ago and I vividly remember it even now.

This guy may have resurfaced.

So beware!

By the way I am currently installing Ubuntu 23.10.

It is pretty good and it has Android Studio from which one can develop Android applications.

The reason I am reinstalling Ubuntu is I did not give enough room for /var/local/usr partition.

I use Debian and Emmabantus for my work and when I run into booting problems only I go in search of Ubuntu my old time friend.

I still have Ubunutu CDs from version 6.1.

I learned my Linux from Puppy Linux and Knoppix.

Ubuntu has finished installing.

It was the only Linux distribution that supported WiFi at boot time!
