Thanks for the Royal Botanical Garden  in Peradeniya / Hakgala and planting remembetance plants, everytime you visited us.

They have grown taller.

Your son Charles, when he visited the Botanical garden briefly, the last time, he came here, he forgot to plant a tree.

He was in a hurry.

Thank Again, for surviving the global pandemic a century ago as a kid and reminding us that we are not out of the wood from global catastrophies of many kinds.

By the way, we are well into 6th extinction in spite of your efforts and China is leading the way of global destruction by way of Coranavirus and habitat destruction bamboo trees and pandas.

Both my father and mother who survived the global pandemic passed away, well before scoring a cricketing century and my wish for you was a well earned century but getting run out at 99 is a very common occurrence in cricket which you loved, and our Sana and Kalu were credited in record books with such feats of runouts.

You were a global record book in living and in death and that beats all record books of my recognition.

In this country, undesirable guys / girls grow hashish or ganja having cleared the forest and the military does encourage these shoddy deeds in the name of  farming.

The protected land of Local Veddhas are reclaimed for growing corn for export (not a staple food) and the bees are decimated by insecticides and pesticides used for commercial farming.

Elephants are killed on daily basis and there is a lobby to give guns to farmers when United States is passing laws to limit free firearms to civilians.

The government is doing everything possible to destroy the forest by subtle legislations in the name of development.

The same GasPaluwas (Tree Uprooters) who destroyed the forest for decades are back in the parliament as MPs and ministers now.

What a turnaround?
