Time for Course Correction was long overdue.

Just in time an ORACLE has come.

 

He is Jayarathna Pathiraarchchi.

He has collected all the Stone Edits.

Additionally, in the past  our monks have kept the records of historical events in Deepavaliya and Poojavaliya.

Mahavansa is a cooked up story of Indian monks.

Mahavansa by Mahanama is a colossal distortion by Indians with vested interests.

Never believe an Indian is my cardinal principle. 

It worked alright to this day.

For some unknown reason, he is waiting till 2035. 

 

I think, he probably wants the guys who are taking center-stage to gradually fade away from the scene.

May be he is allowing NPP/JVP and Indian COMBO to succumb in due course. 

Both India and NPP are a big obstacle on our Way to Course Correction.

He is a prudent guy.

He does not want to jump the gun.

 

He has some uncanny ability to predict the future in a scientific way.

My guess he was a Buddhist monk in a previous birth and he has gathered, all the facts over many births. 

 

Problem with previous birth recollection, in my own study is that, they do not flow in a sequential manner. 

The recollections are random and erratic.

My belief is that previous birth events are voluntarily suppressed during our long human childhood. 

However, Buddhist Devas (not Indian) have the ability to remember, a few to many past births.

Buddhas can remember a lot but they are also suppressed for good reason. Only if and when they were relevant to a particular individual, they were retold. 

If they were not relevant to the path dishing them out is redundant.

Jarhaka Kathas are cock and bull stories and should be passed as veritable Buddhist literature with no relevance to path entry.

1. Sirisangabo is such a classic story.

2. Just like Sinhabahu and Sinhala origin.

3. Vijaya and Kuveni is such a story.

The above stories should be removed from children books. 

They give a wrong connotation to children. 

 

I have no problems adults monks and layman using them for their own amusement.

RAVANA history is much relevance to Buddhas. 

I love them, since I had some interest in Prehistoric Man of Ceylon which extend up to 150,000 years into the past not 5000 years as stated in Western literature.

Short Note on Jayarathne Pathiraarchchi

This is only an observation but bit medically biased.

1. He is showing significant cognitive decline compared to his past achievements.

2. He has lost balance in his arguments.

3. His deep devotion to Buddhist faith is keeping him going.

4. I am not saying he is showing big scale mental clouding but his rumination is a worry.

5. He should be made to write his ideas instead of giving YouTube presentations.

6. My gut feeling is, the YouTube which brought him to prominence will ruin his life.

7. There are lot of YouTube guys waiting to pounce on him.

8. He will live long, if he is looked after with care and sympathy. 

 

He has made lot of enemies around him and they are the ones who are prompting him to make endless mistakes.

9. Anura and his clan who (are politicians) are dead against Buddhist Revival  are waiting for his catastrophic fall. 

 

He should not request anything from this government except its eventual (government's) downfall.

10. If his clientele wants to make him live long,  he should gradually wind down his YouTube presentations.

 

Each presentation would show more of his cognitive decline.

11. I do not think Western Medicine will do any good at this juncture but being a vegetarian by conviction, he may be lacking lot of microingredients. 

 

His cognitive decline may be related to this factor alone (of lack of vitamins and thyroxin by coincidence).

 

He is bit chubby and bit of weight reduction (perhaps helping his wife at home), would help. 

I am not sure of his leg and deep vein thrombosis is rare in the tropics but it can happen.

 

He should be prescribed an age appropriate vitamin supplement but too much supplement may have deleterious effect.

12. I am making this observation as a retired medical man with geriatric experience with genuine sympathy.

 

I would not make any further comments and I would not follow his rantings in the future. 

However, I would read most of his books, if I can lay my hands on them, and I begin to love his Sinhala Style of writing.

 

My current interest is protecting Dhamma from (destruction) within. 

In my opinion it is the rouge monks who are doing the bulk of the damage. 

 

We as laymen should keep away from engaging with these monks.

 

Let the monks sort themselves and I have no trust on "Buddha Sasana Ministry".

 

The Ministry for their part is fueling the conflicts for their own survival. 

 

It is a diabolical situation.

 

I am glad I am not in Ceylon at this moment.

For Arahants there are only 8 mandatory precepts and they are very simple

 

Our Buddhist monks fail on at least 3 of those eight including celibacy. 

 

They are worse than lay people.

I thought this is easy.

 

It has to be, something other than Debian Gnome.

 

After nearly 48 hours, the results are astounding.

 

I thought Cachy OS would be the first choice.

Not with Gnome. It needs 20GB.

I did not try Window Manager. 

 

CachyOS lets you select select several desktops during Installation which others do not.

If one is knew my recommendation is Manjaro Linux. 

It has Gnome, KDE, XFCE and several community developed desktops.

I thought Linux Light would do it. 

After wasting a long time downloading, it tells me that I need 17.5GB in the root partition. 

It is Ubuntu based.

 

I tried Ubuntu based FunOS.

It was only 2.1GB and installed it which took an inordinate time but one cannot install additional software.

 

Unfortunately, AntiX is the only one which could foot the bill but the Kernel is old and no EFI. 

I hope AntiX developers would consider putting out an iso image with the new Kernel. 

MX Linux is still in alpha stage which is AntiX based. 

They are slow to respond and have missed the bus.

I got a Brain Wave.

 

Use Debian Trixe DVD-1 and install LXDE desktop. 

Yes, it saved almost 5GB out of 10GB.

Alternative is to use a Debian Live DVD and there are 10 varieties, including KDE.

 

I just downloaded KDE and installed it.

 

I wanted to see whether Synaptic Package Manager is there. 

It is not there but using Software, I installed Synaptic. 

One has two package managers, then.

 

Debian GRUB does not recognize ARCH boot loaders. 

Solution is to install Manjaro. 

That is why I highly recommend Manjaro.

It has the best GRUB, currently.
