Symphony OS

Symphony OS
Mezzo desktop has a unique attitude to file system.
It does not have folders
1. System,
2. Programs,
3. Files, and
4. Trash

I am going to have a full account of this distribution in my book "Linux Essential" file types in Linux.
I still wonder why Google AI spammed this piece?
May be many other celebrity guys linked ??? Symphony XX are shaken up by the whole episode.
In any case, I am winding up my blog pieces here.
May be related to my favorite actor Gene Hackman (more his wife's death).
My guess was the guys who were dealing with fiances.
I hope FBI would crack this lest President Trump would be really annoyed.

Symphony OS – a Linux distribution which features its own lightweight desktop called “Mezzo”.

Mezzo offers a new way of presenting data to the user. It disposes of standard concepts like “The desktop is a folder” and nested menu systems and instead presents all needed information directly to the user via the main desktop and four desk targets for tasks and files related to System, Programs, Files, and Trash. Mezzo is written in Perl and Gtk2::Webkit, and uses (is based on)the lightweight FVWM Window Manager.

The founders of Symphony OS are Ryan Quinn and Jason Spisak.

The first version of Symphony OS was based on Knoppix, than on Debian unstable, until 2006.

Symphony OS 2007 Preview and the next ones 2008, 2008.1 were based on Ubuntu 7.04 and then Ubuntu 7.10.
The last version of Symphony OS 2008.1 was released in 2008.
The project was dormant until 29 June 2011, when Ryan Quinn started development of the distribution again.

The latest version Of Symphony OS 2015 Beta is based on Debian.
