Garuda Linux and Garuda Gamer
Garuda Gamer
Garuda Gamer is a built in software utility within Garuda Linux, an Arch-based Linux distribution specifically designed for gaming and high performance. It allows users to easily install game launchers like Steam and Lutris which are emulators in addition to performance (tuning) tools. It serves as a graphical interface (GUI) to install kernel tweaks, Proton versions for running Windows games and game controllers. The OS itself comes with the performance tuned Linux Zen kernel, which is designed to optimize system responsiveness and game frame rates.
To install or run a Garuda gaming system, one would need at least a 64 bit processor, 4GB of RAM, and 30GB of free disk space.
It is a GUI tool that lets one easily install gaming related tools from one place. The user can use it to install Itch, Wine, Play On Linux, Steam, Proton, GOG and many more such tools.
Garuda Linux
Garuda Linux is an Arch Linux-based rolling release launched in 2020. It originated in India by university student, with core development contributions from a team based in Germany and an international Open Source community.
I do not like it and there are better alternatives from Germany.
Garuda Linux is a performance focused, Arch Linux based distribution that caters heavily to gamers and power users. It simplifies the Arch experience by providing a graphical installer, pre-configured BTRFS snapshots for easy system rollbacks and a custom, highly stylized desktop environment.
Arch Baseand Rolling Release:
One gets a cutting-edge software and direct access to the vast Arch User Repository (AUR).
Chaotic-AUR:
Pre-compiled packages are offered directly by the distribution, which eliminates the need to build software from scratch.
BTRFS File System:
Snapshots are automatically taken before any system updates. If an update breaks the system, one can immediately roll back to a working state.
Graphical Control Center:
It offers extensive GUI tools for managing kernels, drivers, network settings, and system backups so one do not always have to rely on the Terminal.
Garuda Linux is a relatively less known distribution but could be a good fit for general purpose desktop computing and gaming. It is based on Arch Linux and provides several GUI applications to efficiently manage the system.
ChaletOS
ChaletOS
ChaletOS is a beginner friendly Linux distribution that provides a lightweight, intuitive desktop designed to look and feel like Microsoft Windows. Based on Xubuntu, it utilizes the highly customisable XFCE desktop environment. It is specifically built for users transitioning to Linux who want a familiar interface without a steep learning curve.
Style Changer:
Includes an elegant, built-in styling tool that allows users to quickly tweak the look, feel, and themes of the desktop.
Lightweight:
It has very low hardware requirements, making it a great option to revive older computers or speed up newer ones.
Pre-installed Software:
Comes out of the box with essential applications like the LibreOffice suite, GIMP and VLC media player.
ChaletOS is a beginner friendly Linux distribution based on Xubuntu and featuring the Xfce desktop. It provides a simple and intuitive desktop interface, modest hardware requirements and five years of security support.
The name ChaletOS is derived from Swiss mountain houses whose concepts of simplicity, beauty and recognisability inspired the creation and design of ChaletOS.
ChaletOs is light a weight Linux distribution that comes with Play on Linux. In that sense it is a Gamer Linux.
It boots up quickly in aLive Sessionand it has Firefox, VLC, Audacious and Brasero to go with.
Chimera
Chimera
I like the word that comes from genomics.
Lizard or chameleon (scientifically known as Trioceros ellioti).
Chimera Linux comes from to Spain.
It is an independent, built from scratch, a rolling release Linux distribution. It is highly unique because it discards the traditional GNU Userland and Systemd, replacing them with Free BSD based core utilities, the musl C library, the LLVM compiler tool chain, and the dinit service manager to create a clean, lean, and modern operating system.
Developed as a general purpose system, Chimera has a heavy focus on conceptual simplicity and high quality software design.
No GNU Userland:
It uses FreeBSD core utilities (like sed and grep) instead of the traditional GNU coreutils, which the developers argue provides a cleaner, faster, and more unified foundation.
LLVM-Built:
The entire system is built from scratch using the modern LLVM compiler toolchain rather than GCC.
Lightweight Init:
Replaces SystemD with dinit, a lean and fast dependency based service manager.
Cross-Architecture Support:
It supports a wide range of platforms including x86-64, ARM AArch64, RISC-V, and PowerPC.
It uses apk-tools (from Alpine Linux) along with its own custom source packaging system,
While it offers a fresh, BSD-flavoured spin on Linux, it provides a fully featured desktop environment (with GNOME as the official default) that makes it practical for daily use. One can find out more or download it directly from the Chimera Linux Homepage or explore the Chimera Linux Documentation to learn about its architecture.
By the way, Chimera has many options from Base install to Gaming platform to Default Linux install.
Features include;
Easy to install
Boots into the new gaming system within minutes.
Has powerful applications.

It is minimal, in fact I have installed this distribution, on a USB stick with 10 other Puppy Linux distributions.
Only what you need to play games and nothing more.
Out of the box and always up to date.
Start playing right away with zero configuration for supported games.
