Thrash Can in Linux
Linux is very finicky about deleting its files.
It keeps a track of its history as well as in its thrash can.
What it does is it fills up your home partition and won't let you save files when full.
This happened to me with Libre Office.
I thought it was LibreOffice at fault.
Not at all.
It was my thrash can that keeps filling up with all my junk.
Finally, I decided to clean up my Thrash Can and it had nearly 20 GiB of Junk.
Best way to Thrash in Linux is not to delete but Dump it to a USB hard disk.
Just Cut and Paste.
This bypasses, the history and the thrash can, in one go.
That was what I did today.
Mind you, I have huge iso files over 2 GiB and even if I have deleted them, they remain there in the Trash Can for ever unless I delete them manually.
The good thing about Linux you never LOSE or miss a file.
Only time I missed a file is when I accidentally format a partition using Gparted.
No warning, it just format any partition in few seconds.
However, I do not get a heart attack by formatting an entire partition.
I have an organized way of storing data.
Vital ones are on PAPER.
Especially when conducting, survey.
Very few people in this country (abroad too) have email etiquette and questionnaire (survey) responding ability.
So be mindful, if you are doing a web survey.
