Puppy Linux got my Old PC Running

Ubuntu 5.4 got stuck half way in the installation and I could not get the IDE hard disk partitioned.
I booted Puppy LUPUS mounted and created a bootable Puppy.
This PC originally did not have USB ports.
I instslled a Device with USB ports into PCI slot.
The Ethernet card was also slot into another PCI slot.
This is just to tell the new guys dealing with lot of RAM and SATA disks how primitive computer world in  the previous mellaneum.

My First PC and Ubuntu Rescue

My first PC was lying idle without an operating system and I tried to fix a 80GB IDE hard disk and I could not boot it.

First hard disk of 10GB did not boot since AntiX or Mepis I tried to install got stuck saying kernel is inappropriate.

I messed up even the CMOS battery and it won't even get the BIOS in.
After 4 days of trying I realized it had 1MB Video and 4GB RAM.
It won't boot from floppy of Mandrake, Suse, Debian or XandOS.

Finally I  got to the NM RAM and adjusted it to boot from CD.
Put the Ubuntu boot CD I had in my attic.

It is installing and that PC is back to live mode.

Thank You to Mark Sukerberk for distributing Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Livintu CDs.

The quality of those CDs is excellent even after 20 years in my CD Box.
