BlueStar Linux Tops the List and My Linux Ultimatum

Well, BlueStar Linux tops the list.

It is comprehensive,

It is very beautiful.

It is fast.

It is installing, updating and adding additional software can be done under 30 minutes, even on my old Laptop with 4GB RAM.

What beats all that is, its GRUB Boot Loader which corrects entries even Debian GNOME feel shy to touch.

I am a vocal and ardent critic of KDE but me keeping 2 copies of BlueStar is the confirmation that not all KDE Desktops are bad.

Next best KDE for me is Linux Ultimate Gamer. It beats Steam Deck of Valve by a many a miles.

Valve promised to release a Desktop Edition within 3 years but failed.

I was a vocal critic of Valve from the very beginning. Steam was an application on 32 bit computers to play Simple Games.

Number 3 is Big Linux but since it is based on MANJARO I have bit of a reservation.

I hate MANJARO. 

It consumes lot of resources and Wayland does not function.

However, it has many shades of beautiful KDE desktops.

I cannot install GNOME on top of it.

Adding AbiWord and finding Gparted took half an hour.

Everything is arranged in a haphazard manner so that user is enticed to use its application store just like Sparky Linux.

It is NOT my daily driver.

I have ditched all Enlightenment desktops except AV Linux Moksha which is a beautiful Enlightenment Desktop.

It is not a XFCE Desktop which I thought it was.

Caught Manjaro red handed.

I was trying to reinstall Manjaro on my Laptop.

It did not let me install the way I wanted.

It wanted to take over the hard disk. 

It reported that there is no hard disk to boot.

I came across this problem with CachyOS, too.

I have already stated here Manjaro did do some work with Mossad of Israel and it has those habits ingrained in the system.

All the distributions in my hard disk were password protected. I knew it could not enter my system.

Well, I removed the hard disk and swapped it with my NUC.

It is booting OK but I cannot mount any distribution since passwords were deliberately short because of the Figure of 8 Virus in my laptop. I am erasing Manjaro and install Debian GNOME to begin with. There is a bonus, the Toshiba hard disk is 320GB and now I got 500GB hard disk.

I am not going to mount the hard disk on the Laptop. I am going to keep it without a hard disk.        

So, Manjaro can be happy to say No Hard Disk to boot.

I painfully prepared this hard disk with 40 partitions. I would install the distributions one by one.  Other hard disk is safely in a Christmas Biscuit Tin where I used to keep variety of Ceylon Tea bags.

With this cold weather they are finishing past.

Good Bye, Manjaro and these events are now recorded in my book.

By the way, I am going to erase the extra EFI partition I had on this hard disk.

I am looking for an extra hard disk for the Laptop. Laptop testing is over for a while.

I had a major handicap.

I did not have a magnetic screwdriver to take the Hard Disk out. Well I had a surgical scissor with me and it came handy with a tiny forceps. Well I used to do tiny sutures in neonates and that patience still pay dividends.

Do not panic in a crisis

Well I got AbiWord, Gparted and USB formatter installed on my laptop hard disk now residing on NUC.

I did panic a bit and downloaded Gparted and copy of Partition Magic 6 in a hurry. Both did not boot from a USB. Having a Mini Nuc is handy in a crisis situation.

Having additional PC or NUC is my recommendation for Laptop Users.

Well, I did not use Laptop as a routine.

I need my hands free and a USB stick is my tool.

However, EasyOS Pup was caught by the Manjaro script. It could not mount the Hard Disk and reported what Manjaro said.

No Boot Disk.

A major disappointment.

I used to recommended Puppy Linux.

I did not have Trixie Pup to test.
