Simply Linux from Russia

THANK You Simple Linux.

From Russia with love.

I am currently writing it to USB stick for Intall.

I hope it would not destroy my GRUB. It did destroy my GRUB and only recognized Sparky Linux installed on Single Partition.

I got to reinstall Debian Trixie again which I love to redo.

I have used ALT Linux in the past, hence, it was not difficult.

To begin with it restored my Partition Table which was meddled with by Easy OS, Puppy Linux.

One partition was missing.

It prefers BtrFS but I use only Ext4.

Installation is not breezy but in 14 Stages.

It accommodated my EFI System partially and totally messed it.

Debian Trixie does not recognize partitions made by Simply Linux which must be Kernel 12 based.

I am afraid I am going to reformat them.

It needed 22GB for /root.

I am waiting for MX Linux to come out with it's New Kernel version.

Even iDeal OS I tried on a Live Session and it seems to me the old version.

According to AI sparky Linux is the only distribution that took off from Trixie.

This is AI information.
Do not believe.
It is 3.3GB iso image.

What it was:
A Russian-developed, user-friendly Linux distribution focused on simplicity and out-of-the-box functionality.

Pros:

    Quick response and lightweight.

Rich with pre-packaged software and multimedia codecs, allowing for instant playback of various files, including video and YouTube.
Supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.

Cons:

An older review noted issues with playing MP3 files from remote network drives, though local playback worked fine.

Current Status:
Its current development and support status, especially for users outside of Russia, is not clearly defined in the provided information.

"SL" (Social Links Professional)

    What it is:
An advanced open-source intelligence (OSINT) tool for collecting and analyzing data from various online sources, including social media, messengers, and the dark web.

Mahayana Buddhism is Antithetical to Deliverance

Mahayana Buddhism is Antithetical to Deliverance

In my opinion, of Mahayana Buddhism is that,  it is the degeneration of Original Buddhist Concepts into regional cultural practices.

Mahayana has added many regional philosophical contents into Buddhist practice outside the main realm.

It is actually the Hindu mysticism that has degenerated the Original Buddhist Concepts

Anything that prolongs Samara or the recurring Birth Cycle is antithetical to Buddhist Thinking.

Theravada has one path

1.Ekayana Maggo

Satara Sathipattana is its goal.

2.Uppamado Amata Padan.

Strive hard with diligence on the path of deliverance.

One is truly one's own protector and saviour.

Do not delay the goal i.e; the emancipation.

One might not get another chance.

Human life is extremely rare.

Whereas, Mahavansa willfully delay emancipation by aspiring to become a Bodhisattva.

It is trying to take many paths, mostly rituals, reciting stanzas and asceticism instead of the real meditation or the concentration on the path of deliverance.

One common thread should be meditation for the ultimate emancipation. They are willfully meditating to delay the emancipation or escape from Rebirth Cycle.

It is an antithesis to Uppamado Amata Padan.

Strive hard as, if there is no second chance is the true wayfarer's goal.

Dhammapada Verse 21 is Appamada Vagga

Appamado amata padam

pamado maccuno padam

appamatta na meeyanthi

ye pamatta yatha mata

Appamada is “ without delay” and pamada is being delayed.

Mata is death, and amata is deathless.

Nibbana is so called because those who attain it are freed from the cycle of repeated birth and death. Maccuno is also dead and so is meeyanthi.

Appamatta is not delayed, pamatta is one who is delayed. Yatha is “the true status”.

Heedfullness is the path to the deathless, heedlessness is the path to death. The heedful do not die, the heedless are already dead.

Mind is Mind Boggling Stuff

Mind is Mind Boggling Stuff

Mind (Citta) in fact, is a factory of formation of mental factors of diverse ideas, opinions, contradictions and conflicts.

It is a never ending process.

It is a tool for attention and distraction.

It has the flux of rising, peaking and falling formations of momentary phenomena.

It is an agent of attachment.

It has no self or ego but boundless cosmological presence. It is in motion always pursuing its own continuity  without a real or virtual purpose.

Ciita, Cetasikas and Sankhars are its  domains.

It can exist both bound to and outside the matter principle. It is never free but bound by its own compulsions and inconsistencies.

That is why I call it a mystery.

Try to free it from dogmas, opinions and conventions and try to elevate it to a higher level and blend it with kindness, joy and pleasantness. When one considers the above features, it invariably follow the "Uncertainty Principle".

Stream of Consciousness

 Stream of Consciousness

This piece is a Hypothesis not a Concept to arouse investigation of the mind and its underlying force. Some of the things proposed are outrageous but one should not throw away the basic tenet of the hypothesis due to inconsistencies. I do not want to use the word consciousness and specially the word subconscious (meaning hidden) thereby, restricting it to only  two layers.

I prefer the eminent philosopher James William’s Theme, the stream of consciousness as a near enough hypothesis.

The word “Awareness” of itself and its surroundings, irrespective of its proximity (far or near) in space dimension is my invention.

The most outlandish statement to begin with is that the stream of mind does not necessarily need a brain or matter for its existence.

It can exist without the matter principle.

Even though, in Indian and Buddhist Cosmology there are many domains of existence of beings, I would like to narrow it to three levels for the purpose of simplification but would dare say,  the potential and the sphere of the stream of mind is so limited.

In actual fact, it is very difficult to comprehend.

The three levels for discussion are;

1. Mind without matter principle, essentially an energy form with unlimited extensibility.

2. Mind with matter principle invariably bound to the matter in the form of neural system extending to  many levels of “brain forms”.

Human brain is not supposed to be the ultimate and the highest.

3. The third is the transitional or subtle form, there is neither matter nor no matter but interaction of the stream of mind in many forms.

Why this subdivision?

It is all, to explain, the behavior of the mind of gifted individuals, mediums, those cultivated by meditation, those who posses ability to remember past lives, telepathy, hypnotic transgression and such experiences like tunnel vision as in "Near Death Syndrome".

The way, we look at the mind and its awareness in modern science, many of the above cannot be explained or disputed by mere conjecture or a preposition or a hypothesis.

I won’t go into many details but start with a few examples.

Take the case of amoeba.

It is the simplest of living forms but it has an enormous amount of DNA material for its survival.  The genetic pool is enormous for its simplicity. It does not have a brain or brain material to think and to do purposeful workout.

But seemingly handicapped, as it may sound,     it does all what is necessary for living, reproduction and survival.

There is a purpose for survival and  “this purposeful activityis not too different from a higher order animal with a primitive brain.

The will for existence and purposeful collection of genetic material for future evolution perhaps into a higher form of being, yet without a brain.

I call this form of existence, “the brainy mechanism of sustenance” what a single cell accomplishes on its own.

The single cell is the brain for its own existence.

When we take multiples of these cells when organized purposely as brains in different species including aliens that may exist in other worlds,   the potential of the brain systems and stream of mind is limitless and enormous.

So one should not get surprised for somebody having telepathic ability or to communicate with the dead or subsequent lives or departed dear ones, with seemingly paranormal ability, assuming rebirth as distinct possibility.

Simple disputing of paranormal ability is not the way about it.

There were many in our history and often disputed, deliberately by vested interests.

Madam Helena Blavatsky is a case in point.

We have not developed sufficiently sensitive instruments to detect these “energy forms” and EEG is not the “be all and end all instrument of detection.

My personal view is we need a finely tuned “another higher brain” to monitor these activities.

Not all of us have these abilities inbuilt.

It is the duty of the psychologists and psychiatrists to invest in these areas with controlled but supervised further training, instead of denial and disputation.

One way of developing this power is through meditation but only a few of us can sustain it to such a high level. One should be cautious when one attains meditative states that are transient in nature but with profound spiritual nature that could either alarm the meditating guy or girl or get the individual into morbid attachment to these transient states.

Ayahuasca inhalation and its effects on mental faculties is a case in point.Ayahuasca is a plant based psychedelic.

Psychedelics affect almost all our senses, altering the thinking, sense of time and emotions.Ayahuasca can cause a person to hallucinate, seeing or hearing things that do not exist and are distorted by their own design.

My own conviction is that the practice of meditation has many other benefits apart from achieving goals mentioned above and one should use it for one’s own higher transition rather than using it as a diagnostic tool.

But I won’t condone anyone who is pursuing scientific and diagnostic pathways.

Now let me dish out some outlandish views.

The mind on its own without a material base.

Can it exist on its own?

Where does it’s energy come from without a biological base?

If the cell can survive without a brain (amoeba) why not a mind without a brain?

In the material world there are so many energy forms including cosmic radiation. In that spectrum not having an energy form called stream of mind is unrealistic and unacceptable.

If the medical world (I do not divide the mind into two states) could formulate something called subconscious mind for centuries, the above hypothesis is in fact, an antithesis.

In the Eastern Cosmology, beings with subtle bodies with spiritually developed minds are tenable.

It is often said people who had attained different level of absorptions through meditation are born in these worlds and live there a very long life. It is also said, these beings can travel vast distances from their mother planets and visit alternative universes.

In literal terms they are called the Devas or Gods.

Extension of that theory is what I am proposing not any alteration of the Eastern Cosmology

If that scenario is possible, then the mind stream would penetrate atomic, subatomic and quantum levels of uncertainty and comprehend everything the modern science want to delve in to.

So what?

The mind should theoretically  be able to merge with subtle material and change, its form at will, the shape change described in alien films or with wish. The general behavior of mind is attachment to entities or ideas.

I think my hypothesis is going well beyond this world of three dimensions, to other possible dimensions.

Is it 7, 10 or 13, as in string theory of possibilities in mathematics?

The possibility of the stream of mind is limitless and vast.

Binding it to a dogma, idea, religion, culture, politics, race or science is very narrow.

One should try to discover one’s own mind potential but one should remain within the limits, lest one gets virtually mad.

Come to think about it, this world is full of mad guys/girls especially in the political field.

Why this blog ?

The history known to the people of Heladeepa (Sri Lanka) was not written by the real sons who were  born in this land. The matters such as Gauthama Buddha is a son of Heladeepa and the great civilizations built by the forefathers of  Heladeepa are not discussed in the existing history in Sri Lanka.
Now its time to rethink, to find the path to the real history of Heladeepa which was hidden in thousands of inscriptions, ancient texts, folklores, customary practices and also in numerous archaeological findings.

Key Research Areas

  • the real history behind Gauthama Buddha - he is not a son of India but a son of Heladeepa (Sri Lanka).
  • what we lost as people in Heladeepa due to the conspiracies set up by Indian authors, authors with Indian origin and influences.
  • the sages lived in Heladeepa (Sri Lanka) – their identity and support given by them in uplifting the culture of Heladeepa.
  • shocking information on the relationship between Gauthama Buddha and great king of Heladeepa - King Gāmani Abaya (Dutugamunu the Great).
  • the true identity of Indian emperor, Ahoka the Great.
  • Dambadiva is Heladeepa (Sri Lanka), but certainly not India.
  • the real truth behind the thousands of ‘ruins - pagodas, inscriptions, monasteries, buildings complexes, agricultural monuments, sculptures, royal palaces etc ’ discovered in the land of Heladeepa (Sri Lanka) which was considered as results of the visit of Indian conceptual King Vijaya and the Buddhist monk, Arahath Mahinda Thero
  • the latest, but not the last – the evolvement of the language of the people of Heladeepa (Sri Lanka)

Happy People with or without Alcohol

Happy People with or without Alcohol

I just got into a happy mood and decided to do a survey of happy jobs.

I have listed two of them and two unspecified jobs.

In my life, I have gone through many jobs mentioned here but none of them made me really happy.

I became happy by leaving an unhappy job and finally became totally happy when I retired.

So one way to be happy is to leave an unhappy job.

You cannot do that if you have kids.

To be single as long as one can manage is another way to be happy.

So when you get married do not expect to get happiness as a bonus.

One thing good about marriage is one can share unhappiness with similarly unhappy partner.

It is actually a good therapeutic to know there are other unhappy people.

Let me give an example when India loses in cricket we become happy knowing there are 2 billion unhappy Indians.

It does not work other way round, since there are only 20 millions unhappy people on this side of the Palk Straight, when we lose.

Small is beautiful in one way or the other.

Come back to my analysis there are no lawyers, judges or bankers in the happy list.

I will leave you to work out why they are unhappy.

One clue is they make happy people unhappy.

1. Judge gives a judgment against you.

2. Lawyer takers the money and make you lose the case.

3. Bankers give you an unwieldy loan, the first time you meet them which cannot be paid in your life time.

If you are in a happy job make sure that you never meet the above three in your life.

Come to think about it, I feel animals are much happier than humans.

1. In my opinion happiness is a relative concept.

2. I prefer the neutral perspective (neither happy nor unhappy).

3. It is a spontaneous reaction of well being related to some volition (action) that makes the mind recharges itself but unfortunately, one wants more and more of it (food, alcohol, nicotine, cigarettes).

4. This urge for more brings in a cycle of unhappiness.

That is why I say happiness is relative concept.

5. There are rearrangements of happy and unhappy networks and chemicals in one's brain.

6. Feeling down is part of the cycle (one should not change with drugs-unless insight is lost) some have long happy periods and short unhappy cyccles.

It is like day and night.

7. Sleep (not induced by alcohol or drugs) is the one that interrupts this cycle and rejuvenate the brain neurotransmitter activity.

8. First five minutes after waking up in the morning, is the most important period, we generally mess it up by going for coffee or tea (some alcohol) or opening up an argument.

9. One should use this five minutes, even while brewing the tea, for moment meditation (react with the water that is cold, boils and makes a fine cuppa) or Metta meditation.

10. If one cultivates the above, on a regular basis, creativity returns to your life.
Every day becomes a happy day at least for five minutes.
That is the beginning.

But if you can be neither happy nor unhappy, that is the Gold Standard.

This is my son's recommendation.

He said when he was only 7 years old.

I think I should list the people who are not in the lists below first.

Outliers

I must relate three of my own experiences, one in Ceylon and two in UK.

The information is not second hand.

Public Canning
I was the Junior Cadet Team in a Catholic school but refused to join the Senior Cadet Team in a Buddhist School few years later and I was caned and hit with a sturdy hibiscus pole by the Vice Principle (luckily the sports master was related to me) twice but stood firm and my goal was to enter the university, not to become a officer cadet.

In defense of him, I must say he helped me when the gang of teachers orchestrated a organized scathing attack personally on me.

I took a challenge with one of them, and said “You got to leave this school”, if I get to the university without their help.

Suffice is to say all of them left within six months.

I of course took the security of informing the School Inspector well in advance of the University Entrance.

I was more interested in physics even now but their harassment made me to take the easy option of joining the biology stream.

I was good in physics and mathematics and would have made it through, if I did the mathematics stream as well, with little bit of luck.

In the Peradeniya University, I escaped the ragging during English course
I finished the English test half an hour early and ran away before the guys came in.
Did not bother to attend the medical examination.
Within the university we formed a group in the first year and made sure our group (including few seniors, one who was national boxer from my school) was never outnumbered.
In a way I had a body guard.
He only wanted few beers for action.
Within a few years we were polishing Pilsner, Lion Larger/Stout, Three Coins, Gin and Tonic, Mendis Special and never Arrack but V.S.O.A as a DMO.

Kithul (Palm) Toddy on return journey was my fee after a postmortem of a putrefying body with the help of police.

Story One-1
One of my classmates invited me (no accommodation offered) in East London.
He pushed me to the 6th beer (not Ceylon mugs) which was one more than my small stomach could manage.
I pretended to be “vomitish’ but held it until we went from the bar to the third floor of his quarters.
He was living with a Malaysian girl.
I went to bathroom to void urine and came out and put everything on the new carpet deliberately (I could have done it in the toilet).
Message was indirectly clear.
A good friend won’t push a guy over the limit.
I slept on the floor and that was the last time I met him in UK.
I politely invited him for a dinner at my hospital (without alcohol), when I got my first job in UK.
He never reciprocated.
This is the ploy, I learned in Ceylon.
If somebody invited me for lunch (never accepted dinner) with spirits, I made sure I did exactly what I did in London.
No invitation again and I never took even a sip (exception liqueured chocolates), my entire clinical career while on duty.

Story Two-2
Then my coho (Co-Senior House Officer) Kurian (Indian) who is no more got me to strip to my underwear in my first job in Barnsley in his quarters in front of the nurses (the nurse who was well prepared with many layers of cloth) and the competing nurse would take one layer at a time.
I did not see even her bare breasts (middle age woman).
I felt it was a bad joke (jockey) and stripped completely before her turn spoiling their planned crescendo and said why don’t you measure my penis when erect.

Nobody played a practical joke my entire life in UK, thereafter.

My New Zealand time, no similar episodes but I used to devise my own practical jokes in the first three months and never after.

Outliers
I must say I captained the University Hockey team that beat the National champions in penalty shoot out.
No player was harassed during three years of my tenure but I was harassed in the first year solely, due to jealousy.

I have my own ways taking vengeance in a subtle way.

Six level of Alcohol Actions

Six level of Alcohol Actions

There are roughly six level of alcohol actions.

One does not have the insight into its progression from the first sip of alcohol ingested and that is the tragedy of alcohol .

Level six is death.

Level five is total loss of self control.
Motor vehicle and industrial accidents are the end points.

Level four is temporary euphoria which is transient and the need for frequent Top Us.

In other words one is addicted.

Level three is loss of control of one's spoken language.
Inhibitions are suppressed and this should not be interpreted as stimulation.

The gift of the gab manifestation.

Level two is sense of transient happiness which should not be interpreted as Euphoria.

Euphoria is a type of self delusion which meditators get addicted.

The best example is the state one feels with Ayahuaska inhalations. One feels Godly or Spiritually aroused.

Level one is that the Alcohol has No Effects.

What it means a certain amount of alcohol has to be ingested for one to show effects of alcohol above level one.

So one has to know only 4 levels.

I want a mathematical guy to take the Gompertz Curve and draw a graph to show effects of alcohol, in the middle portion of the curve.

Flat bottom, ascending middle and flat top.

Gompertz Function and Curve

Gompertz Function and Curve

My blog activity fits very well with Gompertz Curve. My blog function started slowly, then had an exponential growth before tailing off.

The war in Ukraine and my antagonism to American Proxy War made me to come out  of hibernation and bring out the Dhamma Principle of Uncertainty of Life in the battle field.

American propaganda is now in the decline with the colossal loss meted out to the Democratic Partyby the electorate. The election episode did not follow the Gompertz Function. There is no mathematical equation for electoral catastrophe but usually the expression of frustrated citizenry is  abrupt and unpredictable.

The Gompertz Function was domain of actuaries who were interested in the risk of death.

Currently it is manifested in stock market and its eventual downfall.

It has three variables a, b and c.

These variables follow calculus model.

But the curve is in two axis of x and y.

It is very simply informative.

I hated calculus since my interest was physics with motion, constants and time dimension.

But I now consider even events exploding into 4th and 5th dimensions.

I also hate statistical Bell Shape Curve model which cannot be expressed in Gompertz'sterms.

On surface, the outliers and the middle portion shows similar behavior but the gradients of outliers are unnatural, acute and sharp.

Insurance companies fear death that means payment and loss of capital.

Their obsession is the risk of death.

The lower the risk of death and higher the number of young people included in the protocol better their profits. They calculate the risk for each age group and determine the premium that has to be paid.

The large pension schemes also use the Gompetz Function for their investment plans. This is where I have my reservation for private pension schemes.

The Gomperz curve has a universal claim.

Tumour growth, cell culture growth and bacterial growth follow Gompertz function but they have more variables than the 3 used in the curve.      That is why I love natural events and cell cycles.
