I am trying all Window Managers on Debian "Trixie"

1. Matchbox doed not

2. Openbox does

3. Gnome Openbox does not

4. Blackbox
Supports Awesome
Fluxbox
IceWM
IceMW Experimental
IceWM Lifht

5. Fluxbox
OK

6. IceWM
OK

7. Enlightenment
Needs some boot time configuration but has improved a lot.
It was known for fancy Window Animations
One has to PAY for Elive.
Not a bad idea.

8. Awesome is OK.

9. i3
Wants to write a script to configure it.
It is probably meant for laptops.
No for PC and NUC.
No log out.
Ctr+Alt plus Enter
Need to restart the computer.

10. Sway yes but no actions or log out

11. Kodi yes

12. JWM or Joe's WM is OK but no applications.

13.X11 is in reality XFCE Desktop

14. I think one rogue Window Manager most likely i3 messed up my Operating System with a script.
Please do not use it I am going to Reinstall Linux Mint for completeness of my investigation.
It is a cinnamon desktop with proprietary software.

It thought it was some failure of built-in Graphic of NUC.
It is really due to software failure or lack of firmware.
What annoys me is lack of logout options and me have reboot my NUC.

File Mangers in Linux

 File Mangers in Linux

There are over 20 file mangers in Linux.

1. Nautilus is my favorite

Gnome was my usual File manger.

2. Dolphin comes second which is very neat.

3. Mid night commander was an old flame.

4. Krusader was again an old flame.

5. Gnome Commander rarely use. I used to be a KDE Guy.

Gnome was a later development.

6. Caja everybody has forgotten is file manager of MATE

7. Nemo of cinnamon is pretty good.

8. I do not recommend PC Man File manger that comes from Taiwan.

Installing Debian On Text Mode

This done on Debian "Trixie" installed using Expert or Text Mode.

I selected all the Desktops and to my amazement it has Open Box as a compliment.

It is Window Manager and not a usual Desktop.

I have tried many Window mangers out of about 20 on Debian 12 and only IceWarm worked well and now even Open Box, too with "Trixe".

Debian Junior Installation which is 4.2GB uses IceWarm, thank you again and I would boot it using a USB. Its GRUB configuration was bad on a single partition. I installed MX Linux old kernel and it works fine on a single partition of 16.8GB.

It was a swap partition earlier.

There is no use of swap in this session and I have only one swap partition left for safety.

It does not consume lot of memory.

It uses both cores with only 25% of Core uses.

Uses 2GB memory out of 7.9GB.

By the way I am only using Firefox.

Network 2.5kb/sec.

Disk usage from 0 to 600kb/sec intermittently.

Window manger unlike a desktop is very cool on my NUC without a fan.

 Thank YOU Debian.

Thank to Just A guy for giving me a boost.

I will listen to his presentation on Open Box later and Thank You for revising so soon.

Yes, having seen a YouTube presentation by a clever guy (Mr. Drew) from USA, I decided to revisit my Text Editor days with Vi and Linux Text books by the side of me.

Partioning with ?fsck (I do not have the books, they are in Ceylon) was the most difficult with only a 2GB drive.
Nevertheless, that experience came good today. YouTube presentation are very fast and old guy like need time to digest especially the dielrcts. I HATE Indian Guys explaining things in Linux and Computers
This guy was very SWEET and I wish him long life for many more presentation on regular basis. He came out of the two year Debian hibernation ( rather development of Debian 13).
For a change I used btrfs file system which has redundecies which I hate and slows the system. I gather it is good tool for TimeShift which I never bother.
Debian upgrade on almost daily basis and I work on my NUC with 2Cores and no problems at all.
I am thinking of buying a 1 terabyte SATA if available in Australia.
Then I can have at 10 distributions running (finding 10 for my liking is an uphill task) in my NUC with 2Cores.
By the way, for all the desktops one has to download 3043 files. Usually with 2 desktops it is about 2200 files.
Debian Big Stick is in binaries and very fast on Graphic Install.
It is true with Text Install, I believe.
I counted there are 26 steps for installation and some steps have several sub steps.

I user to do that with Ethernet connected and it was easy even with BSD install.
I was slow to pick up Wireless configuration.
Only Ubuntu and Emmabantus did that those days and Debian could not, those days.
Debian had come a long way and for the first time I configured Wireless Network on Text Mode install. It take at least 180 seconds to pick the closest (It is fixed in the Garage) signal with so many Wireless Network around including for Printers.
It is a new Ball Game.
I am enjoying these trivial harassments.
Writing books is the most boring.
I lost 6 of the latest copies of my books.
I work on AbiWord and the file is never over one MB and I have at least 100 copies for a single book.
The six 600 odd files have come down to 20 with some having odf and odt format.
I am going to test LibreOffice 25.2.

By the way Linux kernel I selected was 6.12.38 + and not 6.17. +.
It allowed for me to select the old kernel 12 which I declined.
With no fan my NUC does not get Heated Up on Text Install. There is natural time for it to cool from the previously installed file.
It has no graphic card but it is integrated to the motherboard and heating up is a real probability.
I was bit scarred when I installed SuSe Gamer. I erased it within 24 hours.
By the way for the umpteenth time RebornOS failed to boot after I installed Debian. It has to be installed last and I do not like it's Boot Menu.
Debian Boot Menu is simple and elegant.
Installation is yet 55%.
I can read almost every file out of about ? 250,000 files that it installs.
