Revisiting PCLinuxOS GNOME Animosity

Well, Well, Well, the Old Animosity is still there.
PCLinux GRUB does not recognize my two instsnces of Debian GNOME.
What a coincidence?
I am going to get it back but only when I wake up.
I am erasing it with GNOPPIX that comes from Singspore.
It is rejuvenation of old KNOPPIX now gone dormant.
I got AbiWord and VLC installed.
It took a long time.
However, I would not be trsting them on PCLinuxOS.
Well what a relief I have had remaining with GNOME.
KDE is a Real PAIN like Microsoft Windows. Guy and Girls cannot realize the SAGA.
Tomorrow is New Year for CEYLON.
Happy New Year to All.

I installed PCLinux Dark Star but it lacked application. Therefore, I decided to try the PCLinuxOS KDE.
I had along association with PCLinux diring 42 bit Era. When Linux Start left with the entry of 64 bit Era, I decided to ditch it.
I started hating KDE, probably due to resource hungrynrss when I had only IGB RAM and Debian GNOME was my albi.
Having said that PCLinux KDE is one of the best streamlined KDE Desktop.
Dolphin is the best File Manager of all but Nautilus of GNOME has come  a long way.
Installation is brisk.
I gave only one / root partition.
GRUB and Plymouth are pretty good.
I am going to play with it for a why.
Brings old Nostalgia.
It has XFCE and MATE Desktops but no GNOME. Old rivalry remains still.

My Resolution on LINUX Installs

My Resolution on LINUX Installs

I decided to install Linux on one /root partition except Debian.

Reasons.

1. I can have up to 8 distributions in Total.
2. I am installing them for Testing only. Not as daily drivers. The installation is easy.
3. I would have at least two instances of Debian. One Daily Driver and the other Testing.

1. Debian

2. Pearl Linux
Again old Bookworm Kernel and has MacOS like MATE Desktop.
It has Synaptic Package Manager.
Therefore I can install GNOME.

3. KDE Neon User
Beautiful KDE 6.6 but incompatible with GNOME.

4. PCLinux Dark Star
My old favorite but had DNF package manager and has limited applications.
Almost nothing from GNOME base

5. AV Linux
This belongs to old Kernel Bookworm.
I keep it to play with Enlightenment Desktop.
It is based on MX Linux.
Installation is pretty fast.
This is MEPIS based. My first entry to Debian through MEPIs during 32 bit Era.

6. GNOPPIX
Gnoppix is pretty good.
UPDATES took a lot of time.
GNOME Desktop runs smoothly on SDDM.
I had some problem adding a USER account. Could not have readonble password for the user.
I gave up.
I do not like running the system on Root Permission all the time.
I'll try it later again.

7. BlueStar Linux
It is the most beautiful KDE Desktop
I am Installing the latest image which is 6.8GB. It has torrent file now.
All kernel had some glitch with WiFi Network configuration. It has iron out that problem. I choose Desktop Pro.
Deskpro has more tools.
Red and Green Colour CODING in the terminal is impressive.
Got stuck with GNOME due to lack of space. I had reinstall after geting some additional space. In that process deleted GNOPPIX.
I want to test whether I can install GNOME.
Octopi is the best package manager of ARCH. I do not know the difference between Desktop and Desktop Pro.
I am Installing it on a single /root partition.
Installation is smooth and brisk.
Previous image had problem with UPDATES and that was the reason I did not use it for sometime.
No problem with system UPDATES.

8. REBORN OS
Reborn Os the easiest of all.
Package Manager is simple and in graphic mode.

Debian Testing

Only 20 Partitions.
I made a mistake of allocating /boot partition less than 500MB and after finishing installing 8 other distributions it did not boot. It was not the EFI partition.
I Guess after rewriting a 8 times /boot partition got currupted. Red Warning was there but I could not read it due fast booting.
All the other distributions including Testing Debian instance booted OK with WiFi configured. It was looking for Ethernet Connection which my NUC does not have. There was no Wireless Option to configure which I tried several times.
Well I am Installing it again having redistributed enough space for each partition.

I may have problems with UPDATES.
Then, I would reinstall the New Image.
This is all done in One Night.
No hassle.
My assumption 20GB is enough for a basic installation.

Only DEBIAN GNOME proper got 70GB.
Testing Debian got only 23GB.

Having an assortment of USB sticks with various distributions saved me from NASTY and RUDE destructive force of Pear Linux. I do not HATE it but I would never recommend it to any SOUL on this Planet. Worse than Zorin OS.
I am almost finishing but added most beautiful KDE desktop of BlueStar Linux to my repertoire.
