Garuda Gamer
Garuda Gamer is a built in software utility within Garuda Linux, an Arch-based Linux distribution specifically designed for gaming and high performance. It allows users to easily install game launchers like Steam and Lutris which are emulators in addition to performance (tuning) tools. It serves as a graphical interface (GUI) to install kernel tweaks, Proton versions for running Windows games and game controllers. The OS itself comes with the performance tuned Linux Zen kernel, which is designed to optimize system responsiveness and game frame rates.
To install or run a Garuda gaming system, one would need at least a 64 bit processor, 4GB of RAM, and 30GB of free disk space.
It is a GUI tool that lets one easily install gaming related tools from one place. The user can use it to install Itch, Wine, Play On Linux, Steam, Proton, GOG and many more such tools.
Garuda Linux
Garuda Linux is an Arch Linux-based rolling release launched in 2020. It originated in India by university student, with core development contributions from a team based in Germany and an international Open Source community.
I do not like it and there are better alternatives from Germany.
Garuda Linux is a performance focused, Arch Linux based distribution that caters heavily to gamers and power users. It simplifies the Arch experience by providing a graphical installer, pre-configured BTRFS snapshots for easy system rollbacks and a custom, highly stylized desktop environment.
Arch Baseand Rolling Release:
One gets a cutting-edge software and direct access to the vast Arch User Repository (AUR).
Chaotic-AUR:
Pre-compiled packages are offered directly by the distribution, which eliminates the need to build software from scratch.
BTRFS File System:
Snapshots are automatically taken before any system updates. If an update breaks the system, one can immediately roll back to a working state.
Graphical Control Center:
It offers extensive GUI tools for managing kernels, drivers, network settings, and system backups so one do not always have to rely on the Terminal.
Garuda Linux is a relatively less known distribution but could be a good fit for general purpose desktop computing and gaming. It is based on Arch Linux and provides several GUI applications to efficiently manage the system.
