Why I encourage mosquito breeding

 Why I encourage mosquito breeding

I managed to fine a HUGE book on mosquitoes and won't dish out remedies t exterminate mosquitoes.
My fish thrive on their eggs and are very healthy and I do not need to buy fish food.
Mosquito larva is our cesspit cleaner.
Cockroach is our gully cleaner.
The gecko is our pantry cleaner

Please do not kill them with potent insecticides and they kill our bees.

A Gram of fish food is more expensive than Thriposa or Samapoa.

Reproduction

This was something I wanted to write for some time but kept delaying it for many reasons including political.

When some issue is taken out of context and used as a political gimmick, even with much discomfort, I tend to refrain from taking the center stage.

Train to think logically and constructively, I sometime find it difficult to find an audience (group of intellectuals in a forum) to discuss a topic at length.
This was something we used to do even when we were just interns.
For an example we were faced with a dilemma of the treatment protocol as interns.
On many occasions we were sure we had made the correct diagnosis but the standard treatment did not ensue improvement or recovery.
In one of these occasions we decided to double the dose of an oral antibiotic which was only 12 cents a capsule.
We could not double the other agent given I.M and very painful too since with the wrong dose of that I have seen few children dying (not any one who was under me) as misadventures.
Most of the misadventures were hushed up even then since the treatment was free and innocent patients were prepared to take some of the gullible lies from the administrators.
This has become a common occurrence nowadays let me not digress.
When we did increase the dose the patient started responding.
That was good news.
Unlike today we did not rest with that we asked the question why half the capsules were not working?
Obvious conclusion was that somebody was introducing dud capsules in the supply chain.
We reported this and the Ministry then had the way to investigate the supply procedure and then caught pilfering from the Medical Supply Division and the substitution of dud ones to replace the same.
This was big news then.
This is a common practice in India even now before they reach our shores.
That was Professor Senaka Bible's time and we were very happy.
Years later I came to Colombo General Hospital and this practice was rampant as nothing constructive to abort this practice was in situ and Professor Bible had died under mysterious circumstances.
The modus operandum was for the guys to come as patients and take month's supply of drugs and unload them at the nearest private pharmacy.

There were many other offenses (rice and eggs were meant to for patients were stolen during the Pang Polling days) I discovered as a D.M.O but these things are happening in much bigger scale now and I am still digressing from the major objective.

The point I want to bring out is that there is very poor accountability and the procedure for investigations is hampered both within and outside the health sector.

This is true for correct diagnosis too.
If one looks at a record of a patient who returns home comparatively well or who succumb in both private and public institutions the error rate of diagnosis is around 60% to 80% .

This figure has never been estimated for PMs (postmortems and not prime minister) after the introduction of private practice.

Many a times not done in a proper scientific way.
Postmortems are avoided at very convenience of the doctors.
The other issue is that there is no proper consultation among individuals with expertise in other fields and different skills.
This is the salient feature in the practice of medicine in Sri-Lanka.
When something goes wrong the the diagnosis that come to the forefront is dengue.

The gullible media also report them without serious investigation.

All what one needs is a platelet count and a slide test that detect antibodies (no distinction from old or new antibodies).

The test to show rise in titre is not evident in many cases.

There are multitude of other that can lower platelets.

Concrete proof is lacking and impartial objective scrutiny is never done before or after the event.

Once it is labeled as Dengue many doctors can have a sigh a relief that they have covered up their inefficiencies and tracks.
Unfortunately it covers up the administrative failures too.

When a society is corrupt to the core and in effect the legal and medical systems are not strengthened to investigate and find viable remedies this filters to all the other segments of life including schools and universities and proper conduct of examinations and elections to are left to the undesirable elements.
That is when non-medical people too get involved in detecting virginity when the pertinent question that should be asked is; Is it consensual (does not matter one is married or not-even in marriage it should be consensual not by force due the fact one is legally married; marriage gives a license) or not?

Every other case of death is buried under the mountain of dengue (we have to formulate strict guide lines).
1. The correct procedure is to have strict guide lines for diagnosis of dengue.
2. Then the next step should be and when the death is contentious (not dengue) there should be a procedure to arrive at an alternative diagnosis.
3. The third step should be to have independent clinical audit that is not practiced in this country.
I can give you an incident when medical people failed to come to consensus regarding the increase of kidney disease in North Central Province.
They did not have a protocol to deal with the scenario.
The dengue scenario is no different to me.
We are barking at the wrong tree
    Only taking political mileage.
Poor mosquito should not be an escape goat and escape route for our indifference since medicine like books are given free by the government.
All governments are also culpable whether they are democratic or otherwise.
We need a system in place when the system fails everything else fails.
Nobody ask the question why almost 50% did not vote.
Simple answer to that is when the system in place has failed the very system that generate credibility is lost for ever and the apathy sets in.
These are not only philosophical points but these are social issues too.
Everybody in power, not in power, able, disable, in private practice, in government institutions and in all spheres of activity should have a fare share of responsibility.
We are all culpable either direct or indirect or not in action or out of action or in the thick of actions.
We cannot leave it to the politicians alone.

What is lacking is sincerity and transparency.
As Buddhists we will have to pay our dues for these crimes of inactivity and indifference now not in next birth.

The Paddy Field, the Ecosystem and the Sick man

The Paddy Field, the Ecosystem and the Sick Man

The Paddy Field, the ecosystem and the sick man.

I never bothered to work out the ecosystem built around the paddy field.

My first impression is that they are vanishing fast due to wrong agricultural practice and use of uncensored variety of chemicals and fertilizers.

I used to release my excess load of guppy fish to the streams and paddy fields but have stopped doing that since, my gut feeling is that they would not survive.

Interestingly only water loving plant, not in my water garden is paddy.

I dismiss paddy as a highly customized and manipulated plant for commercial use and has no value to nature except pollution and more pollution
.

It is not a natural plant in a giant ecosystem.

A natural pant does not need any human intervention.

My neighbourhood is a good example of what is happening to the paddy fields.

There was a stretch of paddy land between the road and the railway line.

Now there is a line of newly built houses where most of the paddy fields were.

Its an offense to fill up paddy fields and built houses according to the law but with Chinthanaya holding its forte, every little law related to paddy cultivation was violated over the last 10 years.

In actual fact, over the last 25 years.

If you neglect a paddy field it does not regenerate, its ecosystem and blossom into a water garden with water lilies all over the place.

If there is no water it goes into a utterly useless wasteland.

One cannot make it to a proper and viable vegetable garden.

The in between is worse, they become breeding ground for various mosquitoes not only dengue.

When we move into our present location, the mosquito menace was immense.

We could not sleep without mosquito nets.

Then we went abroad for few years and when we returned, I made a resolve to make our current location 80% mosquito free.

I have listed them elsewhere for education. They are very simple techniques (no need for any repetition here).

I achieved that object within a short space of time.

Suffice is to say, the filling up of the paddy lands did help a lot but now we are left with dengue.

Dengue mosquitoes thrive on urban on semi-urban environment.

My bone of contention then was and even to this day is that most of the mosquitoes breed in the cesspit.

Coming back to the paddy lands that are presently cultivated, there are only two left.

One looked after by a woman.

The other looked after by a man who worked in the university.

I was very friendly with him and he followed a somewhat scientific approach and the woman followed the traditional method.

The paddy land of the woman is above the paddy land of the man and it gets the water first but this clever guy always beats her and always cultivate paddy a few weeks before the woman.

This I have observed and was very careful not to raise my eyebrows and pose a question knowing that there was a subtle competition.

The other subtle point is that the guy gets the benefit of the fertilizer seepage towards the latter half of the growth and it is almost free.

These are little things one has to observe but no detective work should be carried out.

Mind your business attitude
.

This week I noticed she for the first time beat the guy up, well and truly.

So I paused a bit and went into pensive mode.

I pretended to be observing the two king fishers on the power line.

There were two almost flightless birds (who nest on marshland left by uncultivated paddy lands) on the paddy field that has being prepared.

I came home and decided to list the animals.

The fish (hardly any), crabs.and king fisher trail was obvious.
Water snakes, frogs, toads and insects were the other trail.
Mind you all the toads and frogs visit my fish tanks not covered.
I do not interfere.

This is something I missed in my little piece on nature, my contribution to the mother nature or the ecosystem.

But then, I remembered this guy telling me that there are little mice that damage the plant when young and also when the seeding begins.

The fact, I did not know was that this is the mouse or the rat that spread leptospirosis.

I did not see him for few weeks.

Is he down with leptospirosis?

Is he having kidney ailment?

Those were the questions that spontaneously ran through my mind.

Update
1. I met him and he had retired from the university.
He told me some official had stopped him of paddy cultivation at the behest of the
people who were eyeing for the land that has become a waste land.

2. the real sick man was a different guy who had a congenital heart disease whom I used to talk to. He tried to cultivate the paddy land which had become a thorny bush. Pulling them out was mighty task and would cause heart failure.
I warned him.
He abruptly stop visiting the place.
He may have had some medical problems.

3. The woman did not own the paddy field but was cultivating (andai) it, for the owner.
He may have stopped her.
This is how the life for ordinary people in Ceylon, ends up.

It is worse and hand to mouth existence.

Human Story is NOT complete

Human Story is NOT complete

This piece is in development stage.
Lot of loose ends.

I am not a historian.
Thank God I was not.

History was always written by the Victor and never by the Loser.

Therefore, there are lot of inaccuracies in historical documents.

Now that politics is over and done with there is room for me for other intellectual pursuits.

I have few underlying hypotheses.

1. Logic in not my kind of thing but scientific analysis is.

I had a friend who was a very good mathematician and a logician.

We used to have a pot of Mesna Tea and sit and talk for hours and he used to say logic is boring and mathematics is not.

Regarding logic, one my argue, till donkeys come home that, half open door is never open at all.
Logic I think, come in logical full numbers and never in halves or decimals.

Coming to my mathematics friend, I may say something to the contrary and the discussion goes into may dimensions, not thought about before.

This ends with a note, "See you again".

Last time, I told him, you may have to come to Australia.

Yes, I said Good Bye.

2. Human Evolution was NOT linear

It takes about 3 to 5 millions years for mitochondrial DNA to change drastically.

When this happens, the mutation that ensues is unimaginable.

One of those changes, I believe is hair on top of our head which is neuroectodermal in origin. With this change, I believe the man develop the ability develop language and abstract thinking.
That language center is still present in our cortical brain.

Somebody, has worked out, that if we go back in hereditary traits, we would end up in about 3000 years, into China.

This does not mean human kind originated from Chinese Stock.

What it means is that the hereditary divergence makes hereditary predictions unrealistic and unreliable beyond 3000 years..

Another, a different kind of analysis ends up in Afro-Asian connection.
We still do not know where exactly primitive man originated.
Probably in Africa, perhaps not in Asia.

Then coming to Black skin and White skin, White skin is inferior in melanin disposition and that is why they develop cancers when exposed to UV light.
When and where this mutation occured I have no idea at all.

That is why I say  parallel civilizations developed simultaneously.

3. At least modern civilizations over the past 10,000 to 50,000 years were parallel not linear.

4. Modern civilization had a life cycle of about 5000 years which peaked at about 4000 years and thereafter rapid decline due to many reasons.

Pandemic
Famine
Natural catastrophe
Wars
Over population
Natural reset

5. Archeologist were the biggest cheats and Smithsonian Institute is run by a clan similar to the CIA.

Their business is to distort real human history.

6. Religion was not a necessity.
Brain has a Language Center but no Religious Center.

7. Philosophy was an antithesis to Religious Dogma.

Socrates was persecuted for no good reason.

8. Religion was all about Money and Power and not about Humanity or Human Welfare.

9. It's looks like there were parallel Hindu Civilizations in India and South America.

Lemuria comes from this belief.

In the 1880s, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831–1891) formed the Theosophical Society with psychic investigator Henry Steel Olcott.
In her book The Secret Doctrine (1888), she claimed to have learned of Lemuria in The Book of Dzyan, which she said was composed in Atlantis and shown to her by survivors of that lost continent.
Her source may have been Sanskrit legends that tell of the former continent of Rutas that sank beneath the sea.

Lemurians, according to Blavatsky, were the third of seven root races of humankind. They were hermaphrodites with psychic abilities and a third eye.
Atlanteans, she stated, were the fourth root race. They evolved from Lemurians after much of Lemuria sank, and they lived on the edge of the continent in the northern Atlantic.
Atlantis sank around 8,000 b.c.e., according to Blavatsky, and its inhabitants fled to central Asia

VIMANAS were probably real air crafts not human imagination.

They would have been globe trotters.

10. Modern Humanity was obsessed with recording contemporary history.

Both in pictorial forms and in language.

Mayans
Sumerians
Assyrians
Akkadians
Babylonians

11. Mohandajaro and Harappan civilization did not have priests or religions.
There cities were
Chola vira
Happapan
Lothan
Sukodata
Mohendo jaro

They were destroyed by war mongering Aryans.

Indian portray Aryan as a peaceful and integrating souls and that is not true.
They were barbarians to begin with and they made women to sacrifice at death of husbands.
They came from somewhere near Ukraine.

Ukrainians still have this blood thirsty and Aryan cum Nazi traits.
Using ATACOMS is no strange behaviour at all to Nazis.

During the World War Ii  Hitler secretly developed destructive rockets.
There is a belief that this corresponded with Alien Visitation. These Alien guys are supposed to have bases developed in Atlantis and are functional to this day.

The unexpected return of British expedition to polar region has some links to this story.

We are on the verge of a Nuclear War.
America and UK aiding and abetting.

War and Plundering are in human genes.

Americans in Iraq is a good example.

12. If VIMANAS were not man made they were Alien Air Crafts.

This leads to my theory of origin of religions.

The aliens were treated as Gods.

Anybody coming from outer space were Godly.

The higher beings of Level 1 and Level II Civilizations were the ones with curiosity and go about in this Cosmos, looking out and discovering new things.

By the way, we are in Level Zero (0) Civilization.

They were not interested in humans and if at all, they considered humans to be inferior experimental specimens.

13. The bombshell.

It took over 70 years for humans to reverse engineer Alien artifacts.

With the binary system our computers were primitive and aliens probably have Matrix System and Space Shifting technology, if not anti-gravity.

NVIDIA with their parallel and fast computing algorithms may take us to the next level of the human development.

CUDA language has many computational probabilities

Video games
Cryptocurrency
Neural Networks
AI

That is of course, if America does NOT give permission to Zelenskyy (during the lame duck period of Joe Biden's White House) to strike Russia.

Then, the Nuclear War would end this current World.

MAD or Mutual Assured Destruction.

14. Who were the Annunakies?
Annunaki Theory
The name Annunaki means from heaven to earth
They probably came from Naburu.
Planet Naburu was feeling the effects of Climate change.
They came here probably 45,000 years ago.
Did genetic manipulation and created Humans as slaves to mine gold.

Gold was supposed to shield the atmospheric holes and prevent atmospheric catastrophe in Naburu.

Sumerians were the first to record these events in cuneform arts.

That is the first language of modern mankind.

Unfortunately, Bible Writers missed many details recorded in these cuneform tablets.

Importantly, they missed the part of genetic manipulation of ancient hominoids, somewhere around 50,000 years ago.

It is strange to note that, many of the hyerogryphic records, in many parts on this planet have similar corresponding events recorded for posterity.

15. Polybius and Anacyclosis

Anarchy
Leadership or Kingship
Hereditary Succession and Degeneration
Tyranny
Aristocracy
Oligarchy
Revolution and Democracy
Mob Mentality and Narcissism and Demagogues

Monarchy
Tyranny
Aristocracy
Oligarchy
Democracy
Anarchy

Cycle Repeats itself.

16. Uncertainty Principle

Ultimately it boils down to my "Uncertainty Principle" where nothing substantial remains at any point in physical, sociological, economical, political or religious, periods of human history.

It is always in a state of flux.

The flow that goes with it is an illusion.

Absolute power leads to anarchy, in no time.

That is why I say Ceylonese citizens are a stupid lot.

They already have pawned their freedom without some form of leash in their hands.

Suffice is to ponder, the dog analogy.

A dog without a leash is a danger to the dog (going astray) itself and also to the wider public (if not properly vaccinated, becoming a rabid dog).

I wonder!

Professor Jayasena of Department of Pharmacolgy

I am fast forgetting names.
It took almost 6 months to remember the name of Professor Jayasena.
He was second in command to Professor Senaka Bible.

I still forget the name of the first supermarket chain started by IMMI in Digana.

It is Cornel's Supermarket, started by Cornel Perera.
I found the name  browsing the Web.
A guy made a comment in the Web.

Digana Village complex has gone into derelict and no more Cornel Supermarket, there. It is taken over by Ceylon Cinemas and, I believe only guys with prostitutes now come there.
It was for entire family with a Swimming Pool and a Tennis Court.
I only loved the Billiards Table.
I did not have a big room in our house and if I did have I would have brought the Billiards Table home.

There were 3 English Bookshops in Colombo.

1. Cargills Bookshop
2. Millers Bookshop
3. Caves Bookshop

All were started by British entrepreneurs.

Lake House Bookshop came much later.

Then there was All Ceylon Bookshop at Dam Street, in Colombo run by a Jaffna Gentleman.

Cycle of Life and the Long Life

Cycle of Life and the Long Life

Maha Brahma (really his assistant) tells me that he has an old story to relate.

It goes on like this with some global modification by me to stand to reason for the modern world.

One day an earthling has come to visit him for his next round of birth as a human.
He looked at his CV and offered him five years of life to the said being.

He was thoroughly dissatisfied with the offer. So the Maha Brahma asked him to stay for a while so that he could offer him some bonus deals.

In real life most of the beings in the lower world except pigs (I come to that point later) refuse his offer and go for a lower life cycle than what is offered by the all almighty, so the Brahma can hand over any left over to any earthly being as a bonus.

In a little while another earthling came for his share in the life cycle. Maha offered him 15 years as a dog. Dog was not happy to take this offer and Maha said that he has to take a minimum of five years that he offers to all humans and asked why he declined the offer.

He said as a dog even though one is very faithful, he only gets left over food and dog food is really dog food and the garbage is no better.

Brahma promptly offered the balance to the human being making his life cycle 15 years and he was still not happy.

Then another earthling came and he was offered 25 years as a bull. Without batting an eyelid he refused the offer and went for the lower limit (minimum) of five years.
His grouse was he has to work every day of the week and after all that when he is weak the human offer him to the slaughter house and it is not a pleasant ending.

Maha did not have any regrets and he gave the balance to the human being making his life 35 years. He was still not happy.

Then the third in the line of earthlings came for his godly offer. Maha offered him a choice that he could have 25 years as a village pig and said that there is no guarantee that he could live up to the maximum.
Pig requested a lower regime and Maha offered him 1 to 5 years. One year as a domestic pig or 5 years as a wild boar.
He went for the latter offer knowing very well the outcome of the former life (slaughter house within a year).

Maha offered him the balance 20 years to the man making his life time 65 years but he was still not happy.

Then came the last of the earthling for the day and he offered 40 years as a bat.

But the bat asked why 40 years.

He said you do night duty when all other earthlings are having a good snooze and so “it is a bonus” Maha said.

But bat said it is not a fun standing upside down the whole day and seeing the world upside down.

Maha said the whole world is upside down anyway and what you are seeing is the real world.

But the bat was not convinced he went for a lesser time of five years and Maha offered the balanced to the man who was quite pleased with 100 years.

When he was about to leave the Maha told him my friend you are going to live only five years as a real human being.

How come the man asked?

Now child you will live as a child for five years.

Then the next five years you live like a dog always faithful to your parents, to elders and teachers.

Then the next 20 years till 35 years you will live like a bull doing all the dirty donkey work for your family.

Next 20 years you like live like a pig eating all the rubbish the world has to offer.

The last 35 years you live like a deaf, dumb and a blind man and seeing the world going upside down right in front of you and you a ready for the dustbin any moment after 65 years.

Man asked why didn’t you tell me this?

You never asked, the Maha Brahma replied.

Now I come to my late discovery and hope somebody would propose me for the Nobel Prize in psychoanalysis.

This actually should go to Piaget but he did not publish this in his time (found in his possession as crumbled notes) fearing that if he published it then he would have been sent to the dustbin of history with all his previous writings.

My adaptation of his psychoanalytical theory goes little further than Piaget assumed it to be.

1. Up to 5 years Concrete Operational
2. 5 to 15 years Formal Operational
3. 15 to 35 years Formal but non Functional
4. 35 to 65 years Non operational
5. 65 to 100 years Concrete (Complete) non Operational

In another way of putting the facts of life is as follows.
1. Up to 5 years Ego
2.  5 to 15 years Accelerating Ego
3. 15 to 35 years Decelerating Ego
4. 35 to 65 years Non Ego
5. 65 to 100 years No Ego

When this theory is applied in a scientific way to politics and science what is revealing is fantastic.

Politicians
The politicians also go through the child stage and the dog stage up to about 15 years and having achieved nothing in this period he would go to the stooge stage abruptly (Formal but non Functional Stage) and becoming subservient to his political masters.

At 35 years he goes to the Killer Stage.

By default according to my latest analysis (Non Operational Brain Stage) at this stage they do not get any new ideas and subside on others ideas for survival (for example All Party Conferences).

This stage they start killing other’s ideas within the same party and if they cannot do that they physically eliminate them.

Then they turn to the opposing parties and start abusing and eliminating them until they culminate in coming to the helm by hook or by crook.

The final culmination of all the hard work and they become the rulers (The President or Prime Minister) without any new ideas or common sense (Mr. Blair and Mr. Bush were examples).

They project all ideas of the others as their own and Mr. Reagan was an example and was a very good actor at that.

Scientists
Coming to Scientists they go through the Discovering Stage (rather learning) up to 35 years.

Then they go to the Discovered Stage.

They do some hard work and at the end they find all these have been already discovered by others.

Having discovered this fact at a later stage of their career they have no urge for living and die prematurely at around 65 years of age (looking for a better life next time).

Buddhist way of Analysis
Lord Buddha and Buddhists analyze this in a subtle way.
It is easy to analyze this in modern Banking Terms.

There are only three stages.
1. Deposit Account Stage from birth to 15 years – Kusala Kamma (KK for short)
2. Current Account Stage from 15 to 35 years    – Kusala Akusala Kamma (KAK for short)
3. Overdraft Stage from 35 to the end    – Akusala Kamma Stage (AK or all Kusala consumed)

Then the Brahma takes over and recruits them to the Animal Kingdom again.

It is strange that AKD has become the President of Ceylon.

Is it his Akusala Kamma?

So many promisesa that cannot be accomplished.

His choices and picks have no overrule in life and matters.

The life cycle begins again with fresh vigour.

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (Russian: Еле́на Петро́вна Блава́тская, Ukrainian: Олена Петрівна Блаватська) was was a Theosophist, writer, and traveler. She was born on August 12, 1831 (31 July, old style) in Yekaterinoslav, an administrative-territorial unit of the Russian Empire. This city is today known as Dnipro, as it is part of Ukraine.
In 1875 (together with Colonel H. S. Olcott, attorney William Quan Judge and others) she established the Theosophical Society. Blavatsky was the main source of Theosophical teachings and discussed the major themes of Theosophy in many articles and several major works, including Isis Unveiled, The Secret Doctrine, The Key to Theosophy, and The Voice of the Silence. She died in London, on May 8, 1891.
Blavatsky, widely known as HPB, was instrumental in bringing the spiritual wisdom of the East and that of the ancient Western mysteries to the modern West, where they were virtually unknown.

Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, born in 1831, was a Russian occultist, philosopher, and writer who co-founded the Theosophical Society.

She gained fame for her writings on esoteric philosophy, including her influential book, "The Secret Doctrine," and for promoting a universal brotherhood of humanity. Blavatsky's life was marked by extensive travels, claimed occult studies, and controversies surrounding her teachings and psychic abilities.

Early Life and Travels
Born in Ukraine (then Russia) into a noble family, Blavatsky displayed a strong-willed and unconventional nature from a young age. She famously ran away from her arranged marriage at 17 and embarked on extensive travels, claiming to have studied with various occult masters and spiritual traditions.
Her travels included visits to Turkey, Greece, Egypt, the Middle East and potentially Tibet, where she claimed to have learned from secret masters.
These "veiled years" are shrouded in some mystery, with varying accounts of her activities and locations.

Theosophy and Writings
Blavatsky co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875 in New York City, with the aim of promoting universal brotherhood, studying comparative religion and philosophy and investigating unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in man.

She authored influential works like "Isis Unveiled" (1877) and "The Secret Doctrine" (1888), which presented a synthesis of Eastern and Western esoteric thought.
Her writings explored concepts like reincarnation, karma, and the evolution of humanity, drawing from various spiritual traditions.
Blavatsky's ideas challenged the materialism and rationalism of the 19th century, offering an alternative spiritual perspective.

Controversies and Legacy
Blavatsky faced criticism and accusations of fraud and plagiarism throughout her career.
Some of her claims, particularly those related to her interactions with Tibetan masters and the existence of certain phenomena, were met with skepticism and disbelief.  Despite the controversies, her influence on the development of modern spirituality and esotericism is undeniable.

The Theosophical Society, which she co-founded, continues to exist and promote her teachings around the world

Graphic Cards and GPU

 Graphic Cards and GPU

It all started with a transistor, capacitor and  logic gate when I was in school.
There were no Printed Circuit Boards, then.
I tried a one transistor radio then (not a valve). It did not work and needed a high antenna.
I have up and did medicine.
Did not give up learning transistor technology and Mose Code and many circuits and a radio.
I bought a set up with 3 transistors from RadiShack in UK.
I still have it and it is still working.

Why I do not use a Mobile

Why I do not use a Mobile

Why I do not use a Mobile

Mind you I have a land phone.

Read this in tandem with attention deficit (new syndrome defined by me) below.

This is something I posted elsewhere.

I have 100 or more reasons why I do not have or use a cellphone.

I will list them as they come to my mind but not in any order of priority.

As an intern I hated all calls mobile included since it meant, a batch of new arrival of small kids who have arrived in absolutely appalling condition.

Some of them fitting due to low blood sugar nearing zero.

In fact, I had 8 to 10 kids whose blood sugar and CSF sugar levels were down to zero.

The government at that time told the public it was due to encephalitis and I proved them wrong even without my medical registration completed.
I used to take blood samples to Medical Reaserch Laboratory in Borella and come the next week to collect the reports.

This is during Sirima and NM and Covinn time.

Then in 6 months later when I went to collect my own data they had disappeared mysteriously from, medical records.

Then, what I did subsequently, I have to pen down on a latter date of my life, nearing my death.

One thing was sure, leaving this messy Health Service and I decided to leave the Public Health Service for good and I was glad I did that and if you read Dengue Dilemma elsewhere, in my writings, one can easily guess it.

It has deteriorated in quality even though, it has expanded.

As a doctor, I hated bad news by telephone.

We rarely hear good news when on duty.

Later in life when cellphone came, I believed in CPP (Calling Party Pays) and flatly refused a cellphone.

It is a public nuisance.

It is a nuisance when the cellphone owner has switched it off when one really need him / her.

When you travel on a public transport one cannot have a snooze to drown the inconvenience with frequent telephone interruptions.

I love silence in public places.

Even though, I don’t use it, I have to foot the bill (kid's telephone bills).

No work get done in public officers.

They are busy answering their private calls of nature and it is more frequent than the real call of nature.

It is cheaper to redirect a message by email that should end up as a junk or a piece of gossip.

We use it for gossip not for creative work.

It is private enemy number one when you own the bank or telephone company a small sum in arrears and the reminders by them costs more than the amount you actually own them.

I think you got the picture correct.

I think it is enough for today but I will add more on future date when I run short of a topic to write.

Memory and Gadgets
Attention Deficit Related (Mundane gadgets like tablets) to Technology Addiction.

Many years ago, I posted an article on the web regarding memory specially in reference to Buddhist Monks of yesteryear (
not today´s TV acting MahaMewna Type) and all the points except my assertion on Mediation Practice (focused attention on the present moment) was copied by an Author of the Scientific American Publication and most recently by another author.

This is one reason, I thought of writing a few books before my memory fails by default and due to old age.

It is rather loss of short term memory and now I have coined a fancy Medical Term.

Few years ago (I still do not take a note or reminder but devised a 24 hour simple protocol to enhance day to day activity), I noticed lapses in my memory and got activated.

1. I won´t use the telephone but buy a cheapest cellphone when I go abroad and drop it to a bin at the airport (this is the biggest handicap and in the middle of your work, one may give a call with a low priority-gossip related call).

When I tried to do that long time ago, one of my relatives in Singapore asked for it and duly obliged. Another one I used for sometime gave it free to a classmate of mine.
His son had lost his expensive cellphone when travelling to Colombo by bus.

Who Cares for an expensive cellphone
.

Thank God, one can switch off the cell, then what is the use of a telephone, if it is not doing it's job, simply transfer a message.

I use my land phone at my discretion since I pay the bill.
Not even the Telecom (delay in payment) or the a bank officer can break that law and break into my freedom.

2. Won´t sit in front of the TV and watch web videos unless it is related to animals, especially Elephants.

One Baby Elephant dead was trapped in a tree in this country
.

There is a video of an elephant mum protecting its young baby from hyenas (we have to protect the young one's from political hyenas and some
rabid monks in saffron cloth).

3. I live with living things, the dog, fish, and plants, including water plants.

All three will die if I do not have some simple protocol, not so rigid but to remind me that there are other lifes on this planet,
in relation to me.

Fortunately fish can go on for 10 days without food
.

If neglected any longer toxic algae will kill them.

A dog will die within three days without water, if there is no care giver.

Believe it or not Dogs never use telephones even in an emergency.
They only BARK.

My dog in particular will start barking for no reason when I am on the phone.

He wants me to stop talking quickly and he has not got a degree in economics but he knows how to cut my telephone bill.

The garden will go to wilderness in no time.

All these little things one has to be mindful, however busy one is in day to day life, even if one has servants to look after these odd jobs.

They will never do them right in my experience.

4. Use the computer and the email productively.

5. Keep in touch with family and family friends in person.
When one sees a friend, just stop for a few minutes and greet them and have some empathy.
You may not see them again could even be run over by a vehicle driven by a fast track lumpen with a cellphone in hand.

I am predicting now with Facebook and low priority web videos, the present young generation will hit a very low point, in their middle age with Attention Deficit and I am going to coin the Medical Term, Attention Deficit Related to (Mundane gadgets like tablets) Technology Addiction (AD-R-TA- RTA stands for Road Traffic Accidents and some of these gadgets may trigger an accident on the road too).

How to become a Successful Politician

How to become a Successful Politician

I was getting totally fed up of all politics both local and global, mainly because it effected my writing habits, especially books.
I was particularly interested in Election in USA.
Local election, I knew the outcome well in advance and the total lack of political will of the opposition.
They were all geared up for the big post and spent all their money, resources and time, on that post.

Burnt out Syndrome.

They forgot that in parliamentary democracy what is important is vibrant opposition.
I say our citizen's are stupid enough to give 2/3rd majority.

I was particularly interested in ousting corrupt War Mongering Democrats.
It has come good but very soon MIC with it's might will turn Donald Trump into War Footing, starting from Israel to begin with.

Ukraine has become a dead end for Americans but EU guys with twisted tounge will continue to carry the War Flames.

This was of course a dream
This is the Topic of my next book, too.
It has some caveats.
Book won't be published but only on digital form.
If any body wants a copy FREE, he or she has to read one of my old books and send me an email to the email address given, in that book in the last page of the book.

Let me say, it is a Yahoo Mail opened well before Gmail.

I have never got an email in respond to any of my books published, either due to nobody has read it/ them at all or s/he has not read the last few pages.

Then they have to find this blog site (I have not given any clues) and quote the latest blog piece to qualify for free book.
Idea is to promote this site and not my books.

Let me say a few words to the guys who were selected to the Parliament I Ceylon.

1. Will they pass a bill to cancel pensions for MPs?

This is to save money for the coffers to begin with.
This has to be done before they take over the official residences of past presidents.

I bet that they cannot get this piece passed in the present parliament.

Reasons are many.

a) The privileges for a MP far exceed any CEO in America.

b) When they see the comforts provided to the MPs in the present parliament, no one would blame Pxxxxx Nanayakkara (who lost his seat for the first time and he was a List MP not answerable to any average citizen. He brought filth to the parliament for the first time) his crave and stamina to last so long without repugnance.

c) They will never get 2/3rd majority for this bill.
At worst they would say they would introduce that this  "no pension for MPs" in the next constitution.
I will leave at that.

To read about my dream one has to read my digital book.

This book is given free to anybody including present parliamentarians to promote Total Digitization of Government Activities.

This government promised digitization and I want to see how they would do it, successfully.

I will not dish out or volunteer how it can be done being a fully digital man for ages.

Old Dog Haven and Senior Dogs

Old Dog Haven and Senior Dogs
There are lot of myths about dogs but here          I want to illustrate few human facts that I should communicate with Maha Brahma who was                    a yesteryear dog exterminated to make room for Perahara Pilgrims that visit the holy city of Kandy. Most of Ceylenese end up in hell whereas all          Maha Brahmas and present Assistant of Maha Brahmas were dogs from this planet earth. By clever design they ended up there and for my luck I happened to know the Present Maha Brahma’s Assistant            as a Paraya dog in Kandy and I am fortunate enough to communicate with him by virtual email.
First the bad news.
Lot of Paraya Dogs were cleared up recently in preparation for Esala Perehara, the grand pageantry in this country. I want a place reserved for these dog exterminators in hell.
In some countries when they are old they are sent to Old Dogs Haven. I want the Maha Brahma to take them to heaven moment they are exterminated but make a short list of the exterminators and send that list to Apaya (Hell) Server.
I have designed a full proof program to catch dog killers and that is working nicely in Apaya Server currently but the problem is, these dog killers live longer than the dogs by many a mile due to cardiac surgery performed.

How to Compare Senior Citizens and Senior Dogs

1. The have homes for the elderly.
Haven is practically hell for the dogs.

2. Some senior citizens by that time become mayors of the holy city.
There is only extermination decree for aged dogs signed by the Mayor.

3. They never give way to juniors
But the junior dogs take charge of the brood.
I have another plea.
If one wants to age with the dog please follow, the instructions below.
Take care of a young dog at the age of 43 years. This is the time nobody seems to want you including your wife and kids.
When you are 50 your dog is 7 years old and equal to 50 years of human age.
In another three (3) when your dog is 10 he is equivalent to 60 human years and you will be 53 years.
You are younger by 7 years.
In another two years dog (at 12 years) will be 70 in human age and you will be only 55 years.
You are younger by 15 years.
43=0
50 = 7 = 50
Only at the age of 50 one can be at the level of the contemporary dog of  7 years.
You should enjoy with your heart’s content his company with equal disabilities.
By the way, his company prevents you from getting a heart attack.

53 = 10 = 60
52 = 12 =70
This is the time you get a bypass operation and the dog would probably gets his first heart attack.

4. Now that you have become the mayor at 55 after retiring from service would you be kind to this dog who is 12 years old or sent for the Municipality exterminator.

5. They are just old senior dogs / citizens they do not have a parliament to go but only the streets but unlike you they look after our streets even at night when young
Is it reasonable to put them to death?

6. How come, if I say all the senior citizens who were ex-parliamentarians and drawing a fat pension and to save money for development of Ceylon that they should be exterminated.

Will you pass a bill and vote Yes in parliament?
Are we reasonable human beings?

Raw Talents

Now that I have discussed skills, it is mandatory, I should talk about Raw Talents.

Some guys are born with talents.

I have found a few and I have guided them to their true potential.

The guys talented in computer skills were identified and sent out of this country with the first opportunity.

I am not a coach.

Besides, I could find or coach a single guy who could lead my field of expertise. Did not find anybody interested and forcing somebody in that direction was not my intention.
This is true of Linux, too.

One guy who was talented did not pursue the career he was selected by the UGC.

I called him one day and asked why?

He said, he wanted to get involved in student politics. The I asked him did he wish to become a politician.
He said no.
Then, I told him he would end up in prison.
Only way, to avoid that scenario is to become a lawyer. Enrol in law college and that itself might deter police from taking him in.
With his pass in university first examination and his advanced level passes he could have easily entered law college.
He did persue law and ended up as a lawyer.
I even called to his mother and told her, let him do what he wishes and the University was not his place.

I did not see him after that and when I surveyed the web yesterday, I found him in the lawyer's garb.
Already his fellow lawyers are up against him. Lawyers themselves have form a mafia against him.

I am by nature dead against these guys in the "Unthare".
They disrupt University Sessions. This was true even during our time.
There was a guy called Malcolm, who was nicknamed "Mathini".
We hated him.
There was another guy who was before him and he was ejected from Peradeniya.
I cannot remember his Christian name.
He ended up in a school in Kundadale and disrupted even children's education.

That includes Pubudu Jagoda.

I saw this guy talking about "Education Reforms" of Ranil Wickramasinghe.
It is true Ranil is an agent of America and clueless in Adult Education.
Guy is totally against Free Education and from Batalanda days he tried various methods to disrupt University Education.

My gut feeling is guys like Pubudu helps the Ranil/USA/MCC propaganda to propagate their awful projects.

I never saw him in the University and I did not wish so, in anyway.
I may have already left the University.

Pubidu is a talented guy.
If for some reason, if I met him I would have guided him and even asked him to become a lawyer.

Other guy I follow in the web is Tharindu Uduwegedara. He contested election and their alliance did not even get a list MP post.
Their main problem was money.
It is very difficult for an independent journalist to enter parliament without backing from a major party.

He is a guy who could have entered the parliament, if not for the landslide of the NPP/JVP.

I think Tharndu who is intelligent should take up law.

His is young and his time will come.

I must make a note or interjection here about Naganada (Naya) Kodituwakku.
He must realize that the average citizen sees him as a political joker, just like Ranjan Ramanayake. Even my wife who has no political wisdom sees him as a joke.

Other guy is Sudath who is trying to collect airfare by Patreon contributions.
He is no better than a gossip columnist and his political maturity is lacking and wanting. His language is vulgar and foul.

Then there is another forum run by a group of Colombo guys which is the number one Gossip Column, which I boycott by default.

I am a scientific guy and an analyst.

I got it totally wrong this time round but predicted NPP would come to power long time ago, having consulted astute political souls.

They simply hijacked the ARAGALAYA theme.

Coming back to raw talents, Tharindu already have had encounters with the police with tell tale physical evidence.

I hope this JVP/NPP ascendence is as a temporary aberration in our politics and true space would open up, in due course, for alternative views.

Two other guys, are Chandana and Chaminda.

Chaminda is salesman in a bookshop.
I am voracious reader and the two books I was looking for and could not find were Das Capital by Karl Marx (book one) and the book about Baghdag, Iraq Museum looting by British and American soldiers.
The name of the Book was Babylon and CIA banned this book.
I hope Scot Ritter enlighten me on this issue.
Americans are good at looting and they did it in Ukraine, too.
If I tell, Chaminda finds me the book or order it for me. He tried to sell me a cricket book on Rickey Pontin which I did. I knew enough about Australian captain and things that were not included in the book.

Other guy was Chandana who was the messenger boy of Nawaloka Hospital.
He was clever and talented guy and if I wanted to dispense and gather information in double quick time this was the guy I depended on.

More than 20 years gone and I can still remember their names.

Reflection on Peaceful Revolt

This piece is not an evaluation of politics but to make a few valid comments about typical Ceylonese citizen's behavior styles which are stated at the end.

I am out of the country but followed the Election in Ceylon without any emotion.

First of all Thanks to The Election Commission for conducting the election peacefully and more importantly releasing the results in one full page summary.

Excellent job done.

We should be proud of the system that everything was done manually without digital support. There is no software problems and everything is validated promptly and manually and the Telecom System doing the communication in style.

American election is "still on" and they are unable to declare the results of the House of Representatives for ages.

The results of the our House of Representatives was declared without a hitch within 24 hours.

Hats off to the Public Servants and we should protect the Public Service without selling them to the highest bidders, as intended by the IMF.

My Usual Comments

1. Public participation is only 69% and in some places 60% which is below par.
Usually it is over 80% and and it has reached 85% in the past.

68.93% to be exact.

2. Spoiler Vote is nearly 6%.(5.66%)
That is Bad.

667,240 votes, doubled the amount of last time.

3. Nearly 10% to 30%  increase of vote share for N.P.P which is excellent.

4. Nearly 10% to 30% drop in vote share for S.J.B which was self inflicted.

5. Death knell for U.N.P and N.D.F which was inevitable and welcome.
My friend Rajitha has lost his seat.
He should have stayed with S.J.B.

Comments about Our Citizenry

1. Every citizen should queue in at public places including bus stands.
First come first service by default in public places.
This is the "first pass the post politics" in real life.
No breaking of queues.

2. No overtaking on the left side by Three Wheeler Drivers.
Overtake only on the right side.
Right of the way is a cardinal principle.

3. No urination in open public places (trees can survive without urine) and keep public toilets clean.

4. Carry all the plastic bottles and beer cans home and  do not drop them to rivers including Mahaveli.

5. Do not use cellphones in public transport unless it is urgent.

Silence (in public places) is golden.

6. Respect other people's rights as is of one's own right.

7. Do not let your dog defaecate in the neighbors garden path or in the garden.

Look after your own dog and do not make them become stray dogs.
If you cannot look after a dog do not take a puppy home.

My usual Christmas wish is never take a puppy home, if you cannot look after it every minute of its life.

8. I do not want any of these N.P.P guys to call me Sahodaraya or Uncle.

I have a name and I am a professional.

I still continue to introduce myself if needed but rarely after retirement.

Each individual needs his or her dignity addressed and covering that dignity with a blanket commoner garden name is abnoxios.

It is some sort of vandalism.

That will be the biggest obstacle and challenge to the political progress, now that they are holding administrative posts.

In other words, practice what one preaches.

We do not need politicians, if everybody including politicians follow the above rules in public places as a form of  Good Governance.

Five Precepts and animal welfare would be discarded and there won't be anybody to talk about Animal Rights.

Hope that Human Rights are maintained, that include "Freedom of Speech" and not one party dominance.
