Linux is meant to be fast and ENDLESS OS makes a mockery out of that simple principle. It takes less than 3GB for the Operating System and another 5GB of full gamut of my Software requirement of the hard disk and 42GB is blocked by it. That 42GB is NOT available for other LINUX Distributions.
Simple MONOPOLY.
Putting everything in one basket is not Linux Philosophy. It bekongs to Apple and Microsoft.
I thought it is my Laptop which is SLOW.
It had 4GB DDR4 RAM.
I had many distributions installed on it from TrueOS to Debian and I never felt that way. It belongs to my son. I bought it for him and it had Microsoft Windows.
With difficulty I ERASED it.
It still has BIOS Block and ACER Group's Password did not help.
It gives 7 numbers instead of 8 to break the BIOS Block.
I want it to Boot from a USB stick with Debian Network Installer. It boots only from a DVD and there are no DVDs in Australia to purchase, currently.
I have no problem with Microsoft Windows since I do not use at all.
By the way, my son lost interest on this Laptop sometime ago and he has his own NUC and that is rarely used.
He is a TV game addict and he has hid own games.
Coming to ENDLESS OS, I installed it using a DVD in CEYLON just before leaving.
That was the Biggest Mistake.
I had lot of Dialog gadgets and several WiFi service and did not use Laptop and ENDLESS OS in CEYLON.
Then, when I came here I installed lot of applocations like Inkscape, Scribus and Blender.
With a very fast Internet here it generally took a whole weekend to top up with application even though my requirements are generally email and several browsers.
I am not addicted any social media. With me writing books using NUC the laptop went to the attic.
Periodically, I plug it in to charge the battery. It is good battery and charged quickly.
I have kept the Automatic UPDATES ON but it never UPDATED fully the 90 odd application left. Down from 150 before.
It takes a long time to uninstall even tiny application.
By the way, finally I decided to put the Laptop on Airport Mode to remove all the redundant applications.
It will be on Airport Mode indefinitely.
I am currently removing down to 30 applications until I ERASE it moment I find a writable DVD.
Unfortunately, I left DVD pack in CEYLON and have no intention going back with hopeless Anura and his CLAN ruining the country.
It has become a VASALA state of INDIA.
My request for all Buddhist is to NOT to go to INDIA or BodGaya during thid month of Wesak.
