Yes, My Old Heart Throb-PCLinux is Back in Town
Mind You it configured the integrated graphic card of my NUC easily and it is graphic intensive in installation which is very pleasing for an old guy like me.
I am currently installing it and it is all easy.
Thank YOU guys and girls in America for developing this Image for the global community
You were in hibernation for some time and for a good reason. You knew the Debian 13 is coming and waited for the correct opportuniy.
I hope, I would be able to Install AbiWord, if not through Synaptic Package Manager, I would use Easy Flatpack Manager.
Thank YOU, again.
By the way, make sure YOU Click Update Option while progressing with the install option. I almost missed it, but since I have rigid protocol in installation and when I rechecked before clicking Install, I found this option available.
It only failed in installing Virtual Box, 7.2 of Oracle which I never used or hate to use. It gave me a warning during installation.
I go for Gnome Box utility, if PCLinux lets me do that.
Most of the Gnome utilities are missing in Synaptic Package Manager including Box Utility but I am going to use that application in Easypak in a sandbox.
Unfortunately, both Easy Pack and Synaptic Package Manager did not work and I installed Sparky Linux and it is even worse than PCLinux and I installed MX Linux on too of it, expecting it's Trixie Version would come soon to Update.
It's Plymouth at start up is sleek.
I have no hesitation recommending it a novice or an old guy but there are few hiccups.
Apart from Xfce mouce Logo Maskot, the GNU or Bull Logo of PClinux brings back the old nostalgia.
The KDE plasma is elegant and I begin to like it.
I used to hate KDE and I think the developer community had taken my adverse comments seriously.
I do not like KDE gear which clutter my Desktop in Gnome.
Thank YOU.
As usual booting is slow and the GRUB is incomplete but I know the way around.
The kernel is 39 version 2 steps behind the latest Debian 41 but I have no qualms.
