It took almost one hour configure my hard disk partitions. It is now in caputing the Image for Install.
All the time it is saying I am in Installer Mode. I want to see its GRUB works for me to make a final comment on my Linux Essentials book.
In tried to download its 26 version.
Image got stuck at 2GB.
By the way, I downloaded the image using torrent. If UBUNTU sucks I am going to install Mint UBUNTU version on top of UBUNTU. I think Mint is much better.
There is also Debian Mint
UBUNTU usually takes over the hard disk and install in one /root partition.
I did not activate the INTERNET and if I did it would have taken more time.
Overall no complaints and UPDATE was OK. Desktop is still the old look.
The Kernel is lot behind Debian Forky.
S
Want to see whether AbiWord is supported.
It took little over 5GB space in /root partition. Update amounted to 600MB.
Brave
Vivaldi
Opera
Blender available.
I am going to keep it and run for sometime.
Yes, UBUNTU is definitely User Friendly.
Filled up the /var partition of 6GB but I got all I want including Audacity and VLC.
THANK You UBUNTU Team.
Well after /var partition was filled up UBUNTU failed to install Audacity and Plymouth was FROZEN and I could not Boot. That may be the END of Using UBUNTU by me.
Well Mint would be installed on top of UBUNTU immediately and I would add some room to /var partition while doing that.
If one has decided to install UBUNTU 25 my advice is as follows.
Its image is little over 5GB.
So have about 8GB for /root partition.
If you want to add additional applications, since they are placed in /var partition have about 20GB for. UBUNTU has problem with removing applications already installed. I wanted to remove LibreOffice but I could not.
Alternatively, let UBUNTU install in one /root partiion and give all your hard disk to UBUNTU. This may have happened to me in the past and that may be the reason, I am allegic to UBUNTU.
