USB Stick Capacity Statements and the actual Validity

USB Stick Capacity Statements and the actual Validity

I have been using a USB stick of supposed to be 32GB but when formatting with Gpart I found 0nly31GB.

I wondered whether I damaged it while re-partitioning to Install over 30 different Linux Images.

I could not find any data except realizing that the partition tool hide the damaged part and reformat the viable parts.

The cells in SATA disks are supposed to last long time but I do not believe the manufacturer's claims.
