Thieves in the Archeology Department

Thieves in the Archeology Department

The categories are many but I would highlight only a few.

From Buddhist monks, to Diyawadena Nilame to High Political Offices are involved.

Last few episodes under all governments including past and current are hushed up.

They include choreographed Nidam Wastu incident in Hantana, to episodes near a hill in Gampola, to cutting of a rare tree and incidents of catching and rounding up some guys who were involved in unrelated incidents (including drug pedaling), come to my mind.

It is very difficult to bring any culprit under the current law in Ceylon.

British plundered most of the treasures including Ola Leaves containing precious Ayurveda treatment protocols.

I found a Danish guy who was involved in trying to take an Ola Leave from Kandy.

All these related to foreign invasion including Modi from India. Anura is part of this program allowing everything including the land to be plundered.

During British time clever Sinhala kings deposited some of the valuables under heavy rocks with some cryptic code.
My belief is one can detect these sites deep in jungles using laser rays and current Officers in Archeology Department know these sites
Using the current laws they prevent any outside person reaching these sites. They are protected by metal caging all round.

Then they get ganja or hashish growers to invade the land adjacent these sites and get these guys to excavate them

Win -Win situation, for Ganja guys and Corrupt Officers of the Archeology Department.
Location of these sites are difficult and it may take considerable time, may be years to find the treasures hidden.
Plundering archeological sites is the current game plan.
