Correction
My memory is fading.
Full scan on this blog site from March, 27 2010, does not have an entry on Pearl Linux due to tow reasons.
Google search engine is not exclusive and lower hits get discarded and never surface again
Google AI is does more damage and Money Driven algorithm is not scientific. I have blocked Google Payments and I have not received a single cent from Google and that has not improved my search for Pearl Linux in my living memory. It is most likely a 32 bit Linux CD, I used long time ago and forgot except for the fact when Pearl Linux- Live CD was booted it needed a pass word and without the password the CD is useless. I have thrown away all the 32 bit Linux CDs with the 15 or so IBM Computer network, I had in our tiny but seven story house, and the Recovery Is Impossible (of the set of CDs with different versions). Even, if I find it it won't be able mount it without a CD/DVD driver but old lap top boot from a DVD drive. I kept one external DVD drive just in case in Ceylon for safety, thinking that I would pay a visit within 3 years. With the recent catastrophe, that is most unlikely and there nobody to support me and probably they need support from me. I have not given a single Telephone call and my commutations are nil with those who do not have an email. My contemporaries only use Voice Calls and with severe disruptions in to the Telecom System, I go by YouTube to have any sense to see what is happening in Ceylon.
I believe the access road to our house is damaged beyond repair.
I do not want to know.
Sorry for the diversion.
Yes, this is a Pearl Linux UPDATE.
I haven't used Pearl Linux since 32bit times.
My memory and relationship is related to its Password.
Either USER Password was blank or live or custom.
I cannot remember.
Then there was another distribution that had number extension 32 and 64 added to the Password.
Linux by default cannot boot without USER or ROOT password, even in live mode.
Now BlueStar Linux uses demo as a password.
My interaction with Pearl Linux is mixed with only nostalgia.
My comments are as;
1. It still has "Inferiority Complex" and wants to assume Windows run computers. It added Window boot Plymouth to my GRUB. There is no Microsoft Windows in my system.
It could not read my GRUB and assumed and added a Windows appendage.
It really annoyed me.
2. It ruined my GRUB and there is no sympathy for such a distribution but the Christmas spirit prevailed.
3. One distribution short, 4 out of 5 boots. I even installed CachyOS to completely overall the GRUB.
CachyOS runs with Debian but not with REBORN OS and other ARCH based distributions. Is the most elegant ARCH based distribution and that is why it tops www.distrowatch.com, list.
1. Nothings good about Pearl Linux.
I have said Good Bye to Trixie even though Trixie is pretty STABLE.
Pearl Linux is Trixie edition and I have at least one distribution with Trixie. I am not sure how long I am going to keep it or erase it with Gnoppix.
2. Pearl Linux hated SNAP and UBUNTU, so do I.
I have no association with UBUNTU now.
3. Peal Linux has introduced a novel Desktop called Pearl Desktop Environment, PDE.
Mixture of Xfce and LXDE with a bit of Elementary look.
4. It has Synaptic Package Manager and I quickly got Gnome and Plasma Desktops instead of PDE.
5. It has Openbox Window Manager which I really like.
It ruined my GRUB
It took 48 hours to get all 5 including REBORN OS booting.
I have.
2 of Forky Debian
1. BlueStar Linux
1 of Pearl Linux, for how long I cannot say but it should disappear in 2026.
1 of REBORN OS, I used to have two of REBORN OS to fill in the GAP.
I would have gone for Gnoppix but its version 26 has some problems.
