1. Have at least two hypothesis
2. Chose the simple hypothesis that explain the phenomenon
3. Ask for verifiable facts
4. Encourage independent testing of the hypothesis
5. Who else has entertained similar arguments but encourage alternative views
6. Follow the Chain of Arguments and whether they fit and flow
7. Do not get attached to the hypothesis.
Challenge it vigorously.
If not somebody else will challenge it.
