Why I HATE Containers?
In simple term Containers can be compared to a Tar Barrel
They are Big and Buggy.
Good example is Google.
Container problems cannot be solved in a days work, simply because the libraries that run them are buggy.
It is OK for company with a big staff and not for small company I would like to run. Say for example I want to run ward with extremely sick guys. Me having all the dictionaries in Medicine won't help me to solve a given problem until I break them to simple problems. When the body system fails we call it a state of shock and 50% is invariable fatal an d the others recover with incurable disability.
In a global America is a good example.
Elon Musk has realized in a shorter time frame that the America System is in Shock and is not amenable to resuscitation.
So he is leaving in good time to probably concentrate on perhaps his project on Mars.
Linux started with simple logic but it has expanded to every corner of the industry and has fallen to this tragedy of Container Systems.
It is OK for Microsoft where they forget all the problem until they move into the next versions similar but more inbuilt problems.
The SAGA continues for Microsoft but Linux has to turn round the Tar Barrel and steam forward with Solid fuel instead of liquid fuel which need a bigger container. This a hint to Elon Musk if he intent to pursue his dream but he should not waste his hard earned money.
I am even quitting Linux, simply because even the Puppy Linux latest version is bogged down in Easy OS with containers but it hasn't got Abiword my work horse in its containers.
AbiWord does not need a container, it can sustain, itself.
Unfortunately Debian 21.10. has dropped Abiword and I won't contribute any to version 13 plus with bug reports.
It will be buggy due to these buggy containers that it will support.
Puppy Linux used to be 100MB and it is now 1GB due to containers.
"Small is beautiful" and that is how started my career in Medicine and Linux.
I have better things to do in my life.
