States of the Matter is the States of the Mind

States of the Matter is the States of the Mind

I must have some Linux Input (as a gratitude to its stability opposed to the entropy or disorderliness of my thinking habits) to begin with.

Debian 10 is out and my Debian 9 is functioning well and I won’t rush to update my system.

My thinking habits have improved due to two books (thanks to my wife and British Council Library in particular) I borrowed from the Library.

One is Human growth after Birth that has chapter on mathematical model for growth (biological as opposed to physical) and the other is States of the Matter, States of the Mind (a treatise in physics I love, in smaller doses).

The biological order and life (and the planet itself) is completely unthinkable in a world of entropy (substitute disorder, better still chaos).

Whereas disorder is the ground rule of the universe (if there is no disorder, there is no possibility of evolving universes- in plural).

Internet and Information (faked news) Transfer is also under disorder and chaos principle and one should not try to respond to them (Facebook and Whatsapp users, please note).

In other words Darwin’s evolution applies to the universe, too.

Our universe is one out of many practically useless universes.

Now the bombshell and there was no account of dark energy or dark matter in this book except a passing comment.

My theory is that all the black holes are spewing out galaxies (better term new worlds) from the other end of the black holes which we cannot see and the rules of physics and constants are different from ours.

So unifying theory of physics (like god created everything from nothing) and ultimate mathematical models are redundant.

In another words black holes are subjected to Darwin’s principles.

So do not kill (he did not have all the fossil evidence) Darwin.

He was the greatest thinker we ever had and not the Bible’s thinking in a rigid (inside and never outside the box) box.

Now I call it the fourth dimension of thinking for lack of a proper word (borrowing from mathematical dimensions) or phrase (beyond three dimensions).

For the outside the box thinking, I take pride of knowing late Prof.A.D.P. Kalansuria and his introduction to me, the basic principles of philosophy.

Of course Bertram Russel contributed enormously to free thinking.

The current political disorder or entropy in Ceylon is embedded in our genes.

It will be more chaotic than the dynamics of physics.

Best way to avoid is to give a holiday to TV and buy some (according to your liking except politics) books and read and divert your mind and preferably give attention to your mind.

Meditation may be an escape.

Mind you reading Carl Marx is not prohibited but not Sigmund Freud (he did a bad job since he did not study our politicians' sexual deviations).

Skin Colour

Skin Colour and Pigmentation

I was trying to find an article on pigmentation on big Medical Texts and could not.

This was an extraction from a very old power point presentation.

I have destroyed my notes by conviction.

When we were medical students there were good articles on pigmentation, not now (? new policy).

I am much interested in Guppy and Zebra fish pigmentation not human.

Skin Colour

Skin colour is determined by two factors.

One is the amount of melanin formed in response to sun's radiation effects.

This amount of formation of melanin is determined by different  alleles and are poly-geneticaly inherited.

There is hardly any difference between whites and blacks in melanin formation
.

The second is the packaging of that melanin in membrane bound packs.

White skin people lack the ability to form (
melanasome melanisation) membrane bound packages efficiently.

Melanosomes are either degraded or dispersed in white skin.

It is a genetic deficiency and not a superior quality of white man.
White man is deficient and why and when this happened is currently unknown.

That is why they are prone to cancer and a very serious condition, the malignant melanoma.
They cannot sun bathe in reality.
This happened during their migration while dark skinned people retained that ability and were protected from cancer.

Additionally dark skin is resistant to weathering and old age.

Melanins

The are several varieties of melanins

Eumelanin
Dark brown melanin proper
Chemically an insoluble polymer of tyrosine
Phaeomelanin
Yellow or red skinheads
Chemically a polymer of tyrosine and cysteine, soluble in alkali solutions
The are several varieties of melanins
Eumelanin is present in skin, hair, pigment epithelium of the eye, in the meninges, in brain stem (substantia nigra) and adrenal medulla
All these organs are ectodermal in origin like the nervous system
Produced by the melanocytes and are packed membrane bound and are transmitted to surrounding keratinocytes.
Each melanocyte actively implants its granules into the body of the nearby cells.
One melanocyte supplies melanin to thirty-three keratinocytes according to signals from the keratinocytes.
In other words roughly 100 cells of the epidermis have three melanocytes.

Black Skins
In black skin the melanosomes which are larger than those of white skin remain free.

White Skins
In white skin the melanosomes are taken up by the autophagosomes and are degradaed.
They are dispersed lightly causing the social pathology

Light absorption
Functions of Eumelanin is to bsorb ultraviolet and visible light and get oxidized in the process
It is a Free Radical sink, so prevent carcinogenesis.
Black skin ages better than whites
It is an Ion-exchange resin
Melanin is an electron acceptor and binds many drugs Chlorpromazine
Melanins are biologically very important but very little is understood
Their physiochemical properties are frustrating to the chemists
Much remains to be learned
Little fish called Zebra (also Guppy) is unraveling its mysteries
The pathology of melanin is largely a matter of increased or decreased pigmentation
Hypopigmentation

What has happened to Y.M.C.A; or Y.M.B.A; or Y.M.M.A?

What has happened to Y.M.C.A; or Y.M.B.A; or Y.M.M.A?

I was never a member of these associations.

I did want to be controlled by any organization as a youth.

Having said that, they served a purpose, in good old days.

I was privileged to occupy my father’s time, rest rooms for elderly men in retirement but soon they were no more due to financial difficulties.
The amount (with only breakfast) they charged at that time was not enough as a viable business preposition.
They wound up, eventually.

I used to stay in Y.M.B.A; for a nominal (advance booking was difficult for non members) fee after rest homes in Colombo were no longer available.

The lunch they provided was pretty good but no dinner.

Not a problem with Sea Food Restaurant or Elephant House Restaurant at Union Place with beer and a buddy and late night film show were memorable (no more).

Now I rarely come to Colombo (mostly funeral but a few weddings) and there is no place to stay without inconveniencing my friends or relatives.

They all have one or few dogs and I find difficult to accommodate myself, being a dog lover, with somebody else’s dog/s.

They live in constant fear of petty thieves.

That is progress in this blessed land.

Why did you give up alcohol?

Why did you give up alcohol?

If somebody asks me this question, I have two ready made answers and a few more thought provoking onces.
It effects my memory and my sleep.
I had a fantastic memory as a kid (which many of my friendly fellow beings did not have) and I did not have to take notes.
Equally, I only took short notes in strips of paper not A 4 size but that fitted in my shirt pocket.
That is also things or the idea I heard for the first  time (did not believe in them first hand).
Eg; Evolution
I loved my sleep and my mother should not wake me up.
She was an early riser.
The reasons outside those two are many.
Recent tax imposition which was a draconian law for the liberals.
The effect of alcohol on liver, especially on feel good factors (hormones) of chocolates is an important discovery.
Fact that alcohol hijacks the important biochemical pathways and depletes micro-elements is another reason.
Alcohol turns non carcinogens to carcinogen and the vise versa.
It is a double edge sword.

Happiness (Ecstasy) one one side and cancer on the other.

Cirrhosis and depletion of glycogen are few others.
Sugar metabolism and early morning hypoglycemia can be mortal in your sleep.

It effects driving skills and common cause of accidents.

It is a universal cell poison, including brain cells.

Two points I missed and not mentioned in the description of alcohol side effects in web pages and sites are;

Compulsive gambling and legal problems related to money matters.

Like politicians (new breed and old) they can become compulsive liars (to buy the next drink to buy basic needs including food for survival).

This is where domestic problems arise, including violence.

The debts increase and responsibility decreases.

There are many more to fill a book of decent size.

Benefits of Meditation and Lapses in My Memory
I have reproduced a piece I have written 4 years ago,
reason being that I forgot all my bank cards PIN numbers for a brief period recently.
I used A's Pin Number to B's Pin number and after three attempts bank inactivated all my cards.
Mind you, I luckily had an account in a different Bank and survived until my new card arrived.
All this due to enjoying my retirement and paucity of use of the daily routines.
So I immediately, joined my account with a family member.
The other thing that one forgets is the passwords for email accounts.
I have addressed that scenario in length elsewhere.
Just like forgetting PIN numbers and passwords if one abruptly stops
practicing Meditation, what ever the benefits accrued will dissipate in no time.
That is why I recommend (and practice MM) Moment and Frequent Meditation (mental) exercises.
Having said that I have not found a solution for lapses in my memory.
I still do not carry a Memory Note with me.
Now my NEW method is counting the the lapses of my memory on daily routines.
How many lapses a day?
That seems to keep my memory fine tuned.
I sometime forget to fill the bowl with water for my dog.
He is totally blind and when this happens he seems to go in circles round the house to bring attention to its needs.
He reminds me of the routine and the lapse in my memory.
My dog has a fantastic memory (in our age he is nearing 100 years) and still behaves like a 7 year old kid and won't do anything to annoy me.
That is the difference of a pet and a human soul.
Humans when old becomes very grumpy for no reason.
There is lot to learn from a dog.

This is part of the introduction to my Book on Meditation.
Benefits of Meditation
There are many claims of benefit of meditation often poorly substantiated. Some of these benefit can be obtained without resort to meditation but simple change in life style.
Suppose a meditator changes his food habits drastically say to a vegetarian diet and practice meditation as a routine and finds that his blood cholesterol is lowered significantly, and then if he or she attributes it to the practice of meditation, there is a big flow in that argument.
One is not sure whether the change in diet did effect the blood cholesterol level or the practice of meditation or both did have independent or summation effect on the level of blood cholesterol. Unless one take a random sample and assess the partial correlation, then only one can attribute combination or independent effects on a particular quantity tested.
Qualitative changes cannot be tested since one cannot quantify the results. In actual fact the effect of meditation is often qualitative and very individualistic and one cannot feel the same effect a different mediator would have felt at the time of his or her meditative stance or instance/s.
This is very true as far as the Jhana States are concerned.
With that reservation in mind one can describe the many unmeasurable benefits attributed to meditation in Buddhist literature.

Metta Meditation

In Buddhist literature it is claimed that one who practises Metta Meditation falls to sleep easily and get up in the morning peacefully.

It is wished in the last three lines of the Sutta.
By reciting Karaniya Metta Sutta one should feel physically and psychologically better, one is made free of illness and one attains the highest goal or victory.
That is of course the Nibbana.
They may be just wishful thinking or one may actually feels better physically and psychologically.
It is also claimed that the natural immunity to cancer and infections are increased by practicing Metta Meditation.
This is something Venerable Ajhan Brahma Wanso preaches in most of his teaching.

Present Moment Meditation

This is something that is worth discussing here.
It has direct relationship to day to day activities.
I believe it has significant contribution to the efficiency of one’s trained skill, simply due to the intense concentration one may apply in his or her work skill at hand (without any distraction).
It is simply the focused attention to the task at hand.
If one is focused on any work, the efficiency goes up by leaps and bounds.
This is very well shown in management training.
When focused attention is combined with attitude to work and other measurable increase in environmental components the work output and the efficiency levels improve.
This is something shop or floor manager can use in day to day basis.
It is called a Quality Drill.
It does not matter how one qualifies the content or the output but the efficiency of the skill concerned improve by both repeated practice and focused attention to the moment of the activity.

Samatha Meditation

There is no specific measurable benefits of Samatha Bhavana or meditation except the attainment of the four goals or paths of entry to Nibbana,
Buddhist spiritual goal is stream entry through development of Jhanas four in this life and 8 in celestial life.
Smatha probably is better for those who are less intelligent (One who is not able to master the finer scientific points in Dhamma).

Vipassana Meditation

This the highest goal of Buddhist meditative practice.
It is claimed that all states of Jhana can be attained by Vipassana Bhavana or Meditation. I may be wrong in this assertion but that is what is spread among the lay persons without full knowledge or the understanding of mediation.
But when I looked at the terminology, it is said that Vipassana Bhavana would not contribute to absorption states.
This (Vipassana) is called the gaining in insight by direct contemplation and vision.
Only in Samatha Bhavana one attains the Jhana absorption levels up to four.
Only when an aspirant has gained the higher Jhana level that one could develop the five kinds of supernatural powers (Abhiñña) the divine eye, divine ear, recall of past births, thought-reading and various psychic powers i.e. walk on water.
The attainment of the supernatural powers is not the real goal of Buddhism.
The attainment of these powers may actually be a distraction or hindrance to a true aspirant or a pathfinder of Buddhist path of glory.
The ability to absorb into Jhana states should not be the goal of Buddhist meditation.
The Jhana states have no hindrance and the Jhana/s could be the way forward of stream entry.
The practice of meditation may bring many benefits and they are difficult to quantify or qualify except perhaps the benefit of present moment of meditation or focus which should be practiced without a label of a particular religion.
It is when one has labels and targets or goals of attainment, the practice of meditation becomes a commercial enterprise of undesirable consequences, ignoring the correct but simple way of development of the mental culture.
I am one who believes that mediation has value in all wakeful hours of the day.
The only exception is when one is asleep and when one dreams.
I am one who talks about dreams and write about dreams and their physiological value is unparalleled only by the practice of meditation in the wakeful state.
The meditation practice is the awareness of the wondering mind and its taming.
That is the Buddhist way.
The goal is not achieving of miracle powers, even though they may or may not come as a byproduct.
Sleeping (and dreaming) is the practice of letting the mind go into an unobtrusive and unhindered state in which the mind is unaware of the physiological inputs that operate in random manner with aberrations of awareness (of the totality) but with interludes of dreaming cycles.
On the other hand meditation is to “let go the attachments” one has with all the mental faculties both sensual and mind centered.

Goals of Buddhist Meditation

The goal is the spiritual attainment (Jhana states can be a byproduct) and stream entry by progressive cultivation of meditation basically by four common methods (there are many more).

1. Metta Meditation.

2. Samatha Meditation with Kasina or various Kamatahans.

3. Vipassana Meditation.

4. Moment Meditation (my simple creative method of short durations of multiple attempts).
This is adequately dealt by Venerable Ajhan Brahma Wanso, in the book "Happiness Through Meditation". It is also published as “Meditation, Bliss and Beyond”.
It is the best book currently available on Meditation in general and my intention here is to make it more of global nature and take the religious tag at the moment of its use.

Memory and Meditation

I want to share a drill I practice on day to day basis.
This is especially because, I am beginning to lose my memory and there are short lapses infrequent though, but enough to raise alarm bells on my part lately.
Once I forgot all my password for bank cards briefly.
This was during our long industrial action when I had a laid back approach to life in general and sleep in particular.
I was not having an adequate sleep (totally engrossed in Linux downloads and testing the isos) at night.
This coincided with forgetting of passwords for half a dozen emails and Linux forum passwords.
This shook my inner senses and I now have a ready made retrieval method based on memory drill.
The combination of Metta Meditation and Moment Meditation have worked wonders for me since then.
I now even have a simple protocol to remember 16 number Visa Card.
The memory loss was partly due to gray matter losing its material and the neural networks not recharging to peak levels, probably due to old age (this handicap is seriously encroaching my body parts, if not the brain).
Metta meditation makes one sleeps well not in one go but in two short spells (Night is the shortest spell when I do most of my work to avoid mosquito menace. The mosquitoes make me aware of my lack of Metta Meditation).
Our dog is the target animal for Metta.
Mosquitoes was the antidote to Metta.
Then in the morning I have a brief 5 minutes of Moment Meditation practice at the end of it, I have a mental list of 10 things or map out the tasks to do for the day.
If the list go up to 20, I do it in two spells like my sleep.
A morning list and an evening list.
That has worked well for the last one year and I still do not carry a piece of paper with all the tasks.
If I have to carry a piece of paper to to remind me the day to day work, I think I should say Good Bye and take first steps for the next round of birth.
That is on top of my wish list.
Since, I have not yet achieved stream entry, in spite of my mediation efforts, that will eventually happen (the demise not the stream entry) and is the only viable option left for me.
There is a simple addition to that wish list.
No electronic aids or tinkle to alert me of the wish list or missing tasks.
I do not use a cell phone by default.

I do not want a gadget to master my brain.
I rather "Master My Brain" instead without a phone alert or a piece of paper.
I wonder, how long I can practice it?

Ranjan Ramanaya’s attempt is credible and creditable

Ranjan Ramanaya’s attempt is credible and creditable

In a country where some politicians get their law degree without sitting a single paper, doing public examination under public view is creditable.

If you look at the comments under Youtube, the vulgar comments shows how putrid our public perception is.

My first lesson was in UK.

There was a gentleman over 50 years who sat (forget what) a public examination.

He was probably a miner.

When he was asked why?

He said to upgrade his knowledge and it is not a crime.

My real Guru is Sir John Kotalawela (our second Prime Minister), who said, one has to learn (upgrade knowledge) all one's life.

I was fortunate enough to see him in public hospital (as a kid in Kadewala Walavwa) in latter years and I made the final diagnosis myself (with my colleagues helping me).

My prediction was that he had couple of years of good life and went to UK.

Similarly, Venerable Narada (who introduced me to Dhamma) used to come to hospital for blood tests weekly and I never told him his long term outcome.

Both were gone when I came for a holiday 18 months later.

Then here was a very old gentleman, in UK who looked after a pygmy palm tree for 40 years, half his height.

One should have similar dedication to education.

Later years when teaching in the university, students come to me having failed the examination (the critical subject I taught) and wanted to give up.

Mind you dental students have never seen a postmortum in their entire life.

It is not a crime to fail, go back and do it right.

Only one guy had to leave (a foreign guy) the university due to falling my subject alone.

We fixed him an alternative course abroad.

He was a risk to medical / dental career.

Then there was very bright guy (affiliated to the parliament staff) who had entered the university in medicine but gave up after three months.
I interviewed him for a menial job and fixed him an alternative course in the university.

The ordinary level examination is conducted at base level and critical thinking and language teaching are not taught at all or rudimentary.

To see its level I sat English and French ‘O’ Level examination.
One can get a credit in English by just filling the empty spaces.

French was much difficult with translation from English to French and from French to English.
Composition and comprehension were even more difficult.

Both did not have oral or communication skills (we call it Viva in the university).

What is the big idea of learning a language without communication skills?

I expected a credit but got only a pass.
I was 55 years plus.
Leaning second language as an adult is difficult.

Learning second language should be done between 7 to twelve years.

My reasoning for learning was to translate my English poems and verses.
I am still trying it at easy pace.

Mind you there is a free French language course in the Internet called “Duolingo’.

Try it.
It is pretty good, if you are thinking to go to Canada.

The bottom line is do advance level to upgrade the rudimentary knowledge gathered at 'O' Level.

Learning is an upward process never downward.
Do not be lazy.

Find time somehow.

Beware Split Brain Politicians

Beware Split Brain Politicians

Medically split brain syndrome can be described as below;

Split-brain or callosal syndrome is a type of disconnection syndrome when the corpus callosum connecting the two hemispheres of the brain is severed to some degree.
After the right and left brain are separated, each hemisphere will have its own separate perception, concepts, and impulses to act.

But my description here is the split brain personalities.
They have lost the subtle associative power of the two hemispheres, not necessarily anatomically but at at a perceptual level.
I give a description of the Yorkshire Ripper (not a typical case).

He was a benevolent Church going guy with no external expression of abnormalities.

It took 25 or more (disappearances) young women including prostitutes to be slain for the police to corner him.

It was five pound bill that cornered him to the final victim, if my memory serves me correct.

But there are many more of these guy / girls in the short human history.

These people cannot meditate and balance their brain in daily activities.

They go into trance states spontaneously and discover pseudo illumination and revelations as their own discoveries and preach them as gospel truths, the most dangerous variety.

Then there are world leaders with iron fists with split brain syndrome.

Slavery for them is gift of the god.

Then there are political parties with similar tendency with no alternative views entertained.

Then there are racists and religious fanatics with
split brain.

My current description is the TV/Media type who have discovered this is the best medium to propagate split brain syndrome politically and want to become the next president of Ceylon.

I won’t name them.

It is the voter who has to judge them and vote in or out.

They are very subtle and extremely religious on face level (Yorkshire Ripper Type) and we know very little of their inner composure.

They are puritan and very eloquent politically.

I am blessed, judging them in five to ten minutes of confrontation is chicken feed.

Few probing question from me would verify their veracity.

I wouldn’t have survived the medical sphere without that talent.

Unfortunately our media guys do not have that probing sense.

They subvert to the propaganda value and plant two diverse ideas as one.

Split brain fellows can do that and try to convince the audience.

Beware!

When they come to power they become tyrants in 100 days.

We are at Crossroads Politically and Beware of the Political Suckers

We are at Crossroads Politically and Beware of the Political Suckers

My comments (no requests) below are for valid for both Ceylonese abroad and those currently living in Ceylon.
I will keep totally silent once the election is declared and let the officials conduct it fairly and expecting the voters who were hoodwinked for over 70 years exercise their voting rights judiciously, without failing.
Majority of our voters are mature and I bow my head to them and the outcome.
Recent developments are dicey and I wish none of my friends contributes the hard earned money to the campaign in any way.
It has already started and you will be getting emails and requests direct and from third parties for contributions (from the crusaders and jokers).

Ignore them and not a penny of your money should be wasted.

Some of them having collected the money may not even contest or the particular party representing makes no breakdown of the incoming and outgoing expenses.
It never happened and will never happen (until a new constitution is formulated to mandate the requirement).
The current constitution has all the loopholes and fixing them are difficult.
We had a prolong campaign to formulate new proposals and the team that did a very good job handed over the draft proposals to the parliament and all the parties got together and shelved it, until now.
There is no trust on the current members of the parliament and the candidates who are coming forward, thick and thin.
There are lot of jokers presenting themselves and some are coming from abroad and there is not a single national figure to rescue and change the course.

All of them promised to change the constitution from 1990s and none accomplished it having come to power.

It will be the same again but this time with a difference.
The ground reality is none of them will get 50% of the vote for sure.
This is partly due to “The Third Force” which came into existence, still viable and building its momentum and it would decide the outcome.

It will be a rude shock to the system including J.V.P.

J.V.P is trying to buy into this Virtual Third Force (not tested in real life situation, yet) without party bondage and there is no guarantee.
There is a tendency for the jokers in the pack to address this force and make a name for themselves at its expense.
My wish was for this force (not affiliated to any party) to become 40% of the total vote, given the political time, then big enough to undermine the big parties.
It is certainly touching 20% as at present and this percentage cannot be bargained by empty promises.
In this scenario marking the second choice on the ballot paper will become necessary and we do not have previous experience on that issue.

A novelty in practice.

I do not like a second choice and count and my gut feeling is more than 80% is not be willing to go for the second choice.

There is no compulsion to do it either legally.

That is the caveat here and we are left with about 20% of the vote floating and no political pundit will be able to bet on that lot.
That makes this election very interesting and will truly give a cross section of the political wisdom of our polity.

More choices and less concern of the final outcome.

I am sure JRJ never envisioned this and we need to teach him a lesson in his grave.

Average voter can then laugh freely at the wheeler dealer JRJ and his follower MR.

The numbers are in percentages one can derive the total vote by multiplying with the total valid votes casted.

Brain Myths, the Malady of the Democracy

Brain Myths, the Malady of the Democracy
There are a lot of myths spread by Psychologists.
This is an attempt to bring some sense and reality into day to day life.
I may dispute many a myths but my attempts are also not infallible in each and every situation one may encounter.
Making right or correct decision at a given moment is a knack which many of us lack.
If we delay acting on a given (it may be right or it may be wrong) problem even for a fraction of a second, the most destructive procrastination sets in.
Then any given solution is the base for next round of further procrastination.
But if we keep an open mind and believe in what we intend to do given a difficult problem or a preposition, the solving of the problem may come naturally, to anyone.
This is not easy though.
Lot of training actually hinder this ability.
That is what we call common sense.
Lot of experience also may be a hindrance.
Basically we have several approaches to a given problem.
Just think of a Game (Video game)
One’s approach may be (not comprehensive here)
1. Offensive
2. Defensive
3. Neutral
4. Random
5. Cool (not procrastination)
The best approach is the last which has all the above components assessed in a fraction of a second.
Only a few has that cool talent.
They are ones who become successful.
The COOL people are actually very observant.
But many of us use the useless procrastination approach (usual approach of a politician).
What it does is to kill the attempt at solving a given problem from the very beginning.
Unfortunately many of us use this method since we do not believe that some problems can be addressed, if we care to divert from the common approach.
This is what Professor De Bono calls Lateral Thinking.
It is not vertical or analytical or direct thinking.
Side track a bit,
Focus on the problem,
Leave behind the past experiences for a moment,
Give attention
To the present moment of time
Then in a FLASH
A new found solution
Springs up.
Then if we have few others with equal interest and talent get involved in the same problem we get endless stream of solutions which we have never thought of because of the redundant past experience.
We call it brain storming and it really works.
If one does not use common sense what I say here is superfluous.
We use our past experience to solve a given problem.
Sometime past experience is useful.
Sometimes past experience is a hindrance.
Past experience is sometimes a hindrance to creative and pragmatic solutions.
Good example can be taken from politicians.
When somebody is opposition for a long period of time and then come to power, he / she makes many mistakes due to past misfortunes.
They have lost the ability for creative thinking.
Unfortunately this happens when one is power too, and they do not realize what a wonderful thing to be in opposition.
The people in the opposition see the problem realistically but they do not have the muscle to power the solution through.
It is the malady of the democracy.
