Double Crisis.

Falling from frying pan to the fire.

One is unpredictable, "Weather Gods".

The other the predictable "Food Crisis". 

The prices of food would hit the ceiling.

Yes, when crisis hits it comes in multiples.

On top of the Financial Crisis, in matter of 10 days, the Paddy Fields have become Muddy Fields. 

Floods will have devastating effect on our economy.

1. Paddy Fields sawn already, got washed away in matter of hours.

2. Seed Paddy is in short supply.

3. No Buffer Stocks

4. Short supply of Fertilizers for rice (liquid, solid and minerals).

5. It is the Maha Season or the Heavy Season where Buffer Stocks are replenished.

6. Dry season is on the horizon and the stock may diminish further.

7. We might have to use Rapid Cultivars and 3 Paddy seasons instead of the usual two seasons to make up for the losses.

a) We might have to get Japanese Help.

They are the experts on Paddy Cultivation and they have a vast variety of seeds.

b) In addition, we have to go for stunt variety of coconuts with high yields. 

Malaysia would not help us.

We have to invest on Coconut Research.

c) True for Rubber Research,too. 

d) I do not know what is the impact of rain on Tea Industry.

e) Our cinnamon, cardamon and coves won't make up for the loses. 

I won't talk about saffron.

I am not a guy who can talk about agriculture.

Mosquito Menace is my field.

Instead, I would spend my time on mosquitoes.

I have a big Text Book on mosquitoes and for some unknown reason, I have put that topic on the back burner for a very long time.

To begin with our toilets / cesspits are the breeding grounds for all types of mosquitoes. 

Remedy is to keep the commode closed after use and zeal the outlet pipe with a tight rubber band wrapped around to prevent the mosquitoes escaping from the cesspit.

My usual remedy was to breed Guppy Fish in my cement fish tanks and release them periodically, to the small streams and water puddles. 

Guppy fish can survive on adverse circumstances but detergents (poison the gills) used in our washing machines kill them all, in one go.

We spend lot of time on Dengue mosquitoes but there are many other types of mosquitoes in Ceylon. 

I have lost the count and there are so many varieties already breeding.

It used to be the malaria that devastated the dry zone. 

We have manged to eliminate malaria mosquitoes but India (imported malaria) again, may introduce malaria.

Malaria mosquitoes (Anopheles) do not breed above 2500 miles.

Japanese B Encephalitis is dangerous and our pigs are the reservoir.

By the way, the big type of mosquitoes do not carry disease but do cut down on other types of smaller mosquitoes, by eating up their larvae.

There are Culex and Aedis mosquitoes that carry seasonal diseases.

The breading times of larvae are generally speaking of 10 to 14 days.

In the mid 1960 we had a very simple method to overcome this problem.

It is not DDT or Malathion.

The big rains help to wash away the larvae but during the dry season stagnant puddles of water in the dry zone become the synonym of the drought.

The mosquitoes start breeding again on these puddles.

One way to counteract this menace is to open the flood gates (10 to 14 days depending on the types of mosquitoes prevalent in the area) of the rivers.

This flushes out the larvae on the flood planes.

Every 10 to 14 days was our strategy.

This worked very well in mid 1960s.

However, the big mosquitoes which feeds on animals and cattle (not dogs) are a good safeguard to eliminate Culex fatigans and Aedis albopictus larvae.

Without my big book on mosquitoes, I cannot memorize their names.

I left the book in Ceylon.

It is out of print for over  40 years.

These are little things that will be prohibited to teach in schools in Ceylon, soon.
Pigs are very similar to humans in genome study.
They are communal species ( not like in pig farms).
They look after their young in the wild.
There is hierarchy dominated by mums like in the elephant family.
They are not ferocious as depicted in the wild boar clan.
They keep clean if left to their own devises.
Pig’s diseases are similar to human diseases especially cardiovascular risks.
Pigs become chubby like our politicians.
They are an intelligent species to tolerate (not the pig eaters) humans and their survival in a increasingly hostile planet where elephants with big brain fail is a dilemma.
Their intelligence and brain size are similar to the comparison of dolphins to humans.
Pigs diverted from wild boar probably million years ago.

Why god created pigs and hate ham is open to question for some religions.

The miniature Wuzhishan pig is extensively inbred and individuals are genetically similar.
Its small size makes it easy to handle and useful for medical research. The team looked at genes and protein domains that pigs and humans share. These are important targets for drugs. The researchers found the physiology of the two is 84 per cent similar at the genetic level.
The studies identified 112 positions in the genome where pig protein has the same amino acid that is implicated in a human disease.
This supports the use of pig in studies on human diseases. Some of the protein aberrations that pigs share with humans are associated with obesity, diabetes, dyslexia, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
This understanding of the genetic origins of modern pigs is important for their breeding and to find new ways to deal with old and emerging diseases.

My desired intention was to retire from blog  activity at 2020 here but Coronavirus induced incarceration and boredom has made me jump that target by 10.

The human race is fast losing it empathy and that empathy is loaded with emotion and partisan.

The Floyd story was hijacked by the media and for me (every) life matters and I have extended that to the animal kingdom, simply because our elephants both wild and domesticated are ill treated on daily basis.

I used to hate cats and pour buckets of water when they fight and disturb the neighborhood especially at night but come Coronavirus, I am very sympathetic to them.

Except one cat all of them have realized I mean no harm and the numbers of them (including those visiting the rooftop but the Ceylon Civets take care of them for me on the rooftop) staying in our safe zone has increased.

The stray dogs who regularly follow me for treats rarely see me due to forced incarceration.

The Coronavirus scenario has morphed into an immigration strategy by right wing radicals world over and unfortunately conservative Australians have taken over that discrimination baton to their hands.

Indian who have earned their emigration status hard are banned  from entering having got trapped at home in their holiday.
They have lost their loved ones and their jobs too and erasing their emigration status is inhumane.

How is WHO responding to this new immigration mafia?

I was offered resident status in UK but I never wanted it as a right.
I only want my passport to be accepted at any point free and fairly not immigration status.

The fairness never works in almost all the Western countries and my personal experience with New Zealand was horrible.

I used to blast the migration officers in New Zealand when they.crossed my free access pathway and always tell them you are going to hear from my lawyer not on immigration claims but violation my fundamental right for free pass.

My gut feeling of the Coronavirus is whatever the potential of vaccines the virus will wipe out a considerable number of the labour force.

For India and China millions dying is not a population problem.

The remaining stock will bounce back in a generation.

If you take a hypothetical country with white supremacy and very low population mass, that country will not survive a prolong viral onslaught.

The money cannot bring the life back and stockpiling vaccines doses may have to be thrown away as ineffective when a nasty double or triple mutants emerge in rapid succession.

The shortsighted but anticipated global effectiveness of the vaccine may be a red herring.

This equation will apply to New Zealand too and their will be labour shortages including doctors and engineers.

India will not send their trained staff and may even have strong anti-immigration policy in a decade's time.

The vaccine shortage and monetary strategy misfired and India will be 10 times wiser in the near future.

Any regime that neglect locals and cater for money of foreign visitors will be thrown out rapidly.

Ceylon will be a classic example.

America has to be much wiser to come out unscathed.

Coming back to the current topic and when I say failure of Federal Systems, I mean governments (not the division of labour where each component integrates to create a grand wholesome or a common goal in management technology).

Japanese 5S system works on this basis from  American Graham Denin's brainchild of management.

Unfortunately Americans never used his management philosophy but Japanese with their own style after Second World War II debacle, revived the modern industry and became world leaders in HiFi systems. and cars

Some of the household names of noteworthy names.

But when this type of model is devised in politics to delegate regional autonomy it fails.

It fails miserably.

Without a central organizational network, the system fails.

British war machine and Commonwealth was a showpiece but it broke down eventually.

Iron fist of Idi Amin or Mao Se Tung never works.

It is true for Russia and now it is specially so, to Chinese political system.

But credit should go to UK for its perseverance to keep the Commonwealth under one umbrella.

Then the local power hungry guys wanted to taste this power without UK involvement and dismantled the evolved system to make a mockery of the system.

Ceylon is a classic example and J.R.J.'s failed hybrid of parliamentary system and a hegemonic central authority vested on a Francophile presidential system failed.
But we are still grappling with that problem for the last 40 years without a feasible solution.

It is now more of the same with added incentive to become a self acclaimed dictator.

India chose a semi-federal system and it failed.

Of course the Great India fractured into four  with independence.

They used RAW to divide Ceylon, in the same inclination, fearing Ceylon might overtake even Singapore strategy, if remained United.

My personal view is even if we remained integrated, we would not have achieved much.

Simply because scientific and management style was not within our inbred philosophy and for a considerable time period we never  got scientifically and politically mature.

India created LTTE from grassroots level but could not control it when it went overboard with some EU countries giving all the support.

EU policy is cooperation but for a small country disintegration was their policy.

Thanks to India Tamils are still suffering in this country and most went to Western countries looking for better pastures as economic refugees.

India never gives citizenship to Tamils from Ceylon except Estate Tamils of Indian origin.

It shows their double standard and finally we had to go behind China for security reasons.

That is the exchange of ginger for chilies.

Both not palatable when raw.

We need other spices to make them taste better and tolerable.

Come to Coronavirus with center and periphery pulling in opposite directions, it is spreading like wildfire in India.

It is true for America with a much more bizarre Federal System and Coronavirus played havoc there,too.

I am not going to say humankind has found a suitable political system.

NO.

With the genetic or inherent power greed mankind will never find a system tolerable and equitable.

They love to see division and skin colour and African origin have become a basis of violence and polarization..

They forget that the white man originated from black man from Ethiopia in the distant past.

Our historian and priests have erased the dotted lines that connect us to the reality of human evolution.

So Coronavirus coming to wipe the human race is welcome, only if the remaining guys connect the dotted lines and create a plausible connections and dish out Quran and Bible not as absolutes but as obsolete.

Very unlikely.

But Coronavirus has shown the fallibility of the human race.

I have created a hypothesis that this is an alien agenda coming from a "not so friendly alien clan" from Zeta or Xreta reticularis galaxy.

They have been masquerading, as Tall Whites of Scandinavian Origin for a very long time.

They are shape shifters who will integrate with the local tribes when in danger but emerge free again when (viral crisis now ) the crisis is over.

These guys cannot stand viruses and their immune system cannot mount a protective resistance.

We are the guinea pigs.

Why I hate Cats?
I hate cats from my childhood.

The day our cat caught my squirrel and killed it I started hating all cats including our cat (never my cat in my vocabulary).

I cried and got hold of the tail of the cat and trashed her on the floor till my anger subsided but felt short of killing her.
The cat got the message and would not come near me and then one day I handed over her to one of my aunts whose house had lot of rats.

I cannot remember having a cat till late in my life.

Then we had two orphaned male cats one was killed by a dog and other was poisoned and dished out during Perehara for supper.

My daughter looked after 33 litters (she had counted) in her childhood and the last litter she came and told me that all five of them were blind to a different degree.

The had no defense from Kala Waddas (Ceylon Civet) and we looked after them in a cage and were disposed and I told her no more caring for cats (litters).

This year, New year’s eve I found three kitten in an open area of the house (neighbor’s cat) not protected by civets.

My decision was wait till they are bigger and dispose them quickly.

I frightened the mother cat (thinking she may take them away) but she was cunning and secretly come and go but not caring for the litter but found her catching birds in a nearby house.

Then she did not come to feed for three days and I found one dead and two others just surviving.

Called a yesteryear servant girl now a big woman and told her to take them away and give them to somebody with two small packets of milk vitamin enriched and cash for another big packet (now over Rs.300/=).

Today I was watching over my cup of tea and there we over 10 young squirrels come out of the nest due to rain. Many of them were barely able to jump and their mothers did not had any control over them.

I knew the worse would happen.

One missed the jump and fell over 40 feet down and before I could reach, the cat had already caught it.

The irony here is there are very few trees below that would have prevented the young squirrel from landing on the ground . Thirty (30) years ago when we moved here there were many trees and during this period at least 7 jack trees were felled in addition to other trees.

This is what we call development in Buddhist Style.
Before the turn of the last century monkeys would go from Hanathana Range to Knuckles range without ever climbing down to the ground and then there were more monkeys than business monkeys of present.

That is it; killers in my neighborhood.

To my surprise there were 4 cats guarding below watchfully.

I could not believe westerners love them and feed them and there was an old woman in America, neurotic about the lost cats and not the house.

People are saying how cute when one cat was found.

Unlike dogs they can fend themselves in the wild and they are wild animals domesticated and never can be trained not to kill.

The other reason I hate them is they steal food.

Cat in the neighborhood come and secretly drink my dog’s milk.

Now I sit with him till he finishes.
My dog deliberately leave them for the cats (probably learned from me).

1. They kill (not appropriate for Buddhist ethics) birds, squirrels and rats and any animal at their disposal
2. They steal (not appropriate for Buddhist ethics)
3. They can be never trained
4. They know how to coax
5. They make very ugly noise in the night
6. They urinate on linen
7. Their scat has an awful smell
8. They are never at home but always at the neigbour’s house stealing
9. They breed so often
10. Above all they are nuisance to the neighbors
11. They never look after our household

I think we should have a cat’s law (we have a law for dogs- why don’t we round the cats up and kill them since they also transmit Rabies) for Cat Buddhists.

But our cat’s law goes like this, Yes it is my cat but I did not ask him or her to kill or steal: it is it’s (their) instinct to help Cat Buddhists and Cat Philosophy.

I call it my cat logic or catelogic (how it is pronounced in typical Ceylonese Style!)

They perpetuate catalogue of errors of discretion.

We Buddhists in Ceylonese  have bizarre law and ethics and very selfish too.

I cannot think of anything good except the purring.

Ceylonese  keeps cats and they never feed them.

They say if they feed them they won’t catch the mice ( I must call them Cat Buddhists to add to my list of Buddhists in Ceylonese ) at night but go and give Bodhi Puja every weekend.

I feel like killing my neighbors (this feeling was there for the last 30 years) having cats and not feeding them but until now I have resisted it.

I think Windows guys and girls have gone into panic mode since Linux is eating into its base in this new year, 2025.

It has produced a distribution called Winiux to mount Windows applications. It is alright for a guy who has paid for Microsoft Windows but not for a real Linux Guy. My gut feeling is if a Linux guy who does not have a Microsoft or Windows will be asked to pay when using this distribution.

Do not get caught to this strategy. If you want pay games register with Steam of Valve which I support indirectly.

 It is only one day old.

It has a torrent file and can be downloaded from its site. I am trying to download it and it is over 4.8GB which is above my limit of 3GB which can be booted from a 4GB USB stick.

I am trying to be neutral and that is why I would test it but I won't use it. All my Windows files 40 years old are in Ceylon and gathering dust. I bet this file won't be mounted on BOX Utility. It is 4GB still.

This post is just show I was a proper doctor in retirement, for those who doubt.

Well, well, well, another dream in a series of dreams.

I was sorting out some threesomes before I drop to sleep.

In fact, I was up all night sorting out my “got to do” work and dropped to sleep briefly.

It was related an ankle injury.

Somebody known to me (cannot remember who) had a fall or had a vehicle tire run over his / her foot, came to me for treatment.

Here, I practice, RICE treatment.

Short Form IS RICE, I added the R

and ask subject/patient to come to casualty after 24 hours for REVIEW.

In an unfamiliar or previously unknown case, I take two X-rays in perpendicular plane for comparison with the Review X-Ray done usually after 24 hours.

X-ray is done to rule out bony injuries.

Main injury is lateral ligament injury (consist of three associated ligaments, one in front, one in the middle and one behind).

Bony injuries heel without much a do, since all the bones are stabilized in a 90 degree plane but ligament injuries do cause serious instability (it takes all the body weight) of the ankle joint.

Second X-ray is done to see avulsion injury of the ligament/s (gives the severity) which shows as little calcification not immediately but after about 24 hours.

Bony injuries separated are shown in the initial X-rays and bony injuries due to compression are also visible as linear calcification lines, after 24 to 48 hours.

It does not mater it is soft tissue or bony injury, since the treatment for both is the same below knee plaster cast.

But bony injury the time of removal of the P.O.P cast is late and soft tissue injuries physiotherapy is more vigorous.

In any case plaster cast is removed and reapplied once the swelling is at its minimum.

For some unknown reason, in my dream, the standard treatment was interfered with and some altercation with the staff (not me, probably the radiographer was) followed.

Either, I did not order an X-ray (this is one of my cost saving exercises, even when working abroad-mildest form injury get only one X-ray, after 24 hours -for exclusion purposes not conclusion of more severe injury) or the VIP guy demanded one immediately and the radiographer refused without a doctors request form, which is the norm.

With this commotion I was woken up.

This is another word I would like to add to English, if it is not there already, in existence.

This time in the Scientific World.

We had an Engineering Exhibition in the University, I do not know what was being exhibited there but my gut feeling says, that they are all big events for public consumption and certainly not miniature exhibits of biological nature. I am pretty sure they did not talk about biophysics and nano-technology.

I have been against the coal power project form its inception. I have many reasons including acid rain and I have stated that Coal Marketing Board will be as bad as the Paddy Marketing Board of yesteryear and its corruption scale would be immense unlike the paddy seeds.

Suffice is to say that most of the coal would wind up in undesirable places and the scale of corruption will be covered by black soot.

How black soot will effect our children's chest physiology and sporting outcomes are a different kettle of fish. I have voiced these concerns with scientific data as a yesteryear pediatrician but they would be pushed under the carpet of politics.

One pertinent question our energy planners did not address is that these coal power plants are operational 24 hours a day and the interruption of nocturnal terrestrial cooling effect that is necessary for air circulation and water condensation and the night rain pattern that we used enjoy would be disturbed drastically due to constantly warm stagnant air currents. This inherent circulation and re-circulation in opposite direction invariably purified the air of soot, dirt and chemicals.

The adverse effect of coal burning is phenomenal.

As long as the rain is there, even with infrequent interval with somewhat disturbed patterns then, there is going to be some reclamation.

But think of the scenario for some reason or the other, if the rain fails for a period of two years with drought. Then we have to use more and more coal power to generate power.

In fact, it sets in a vicious cycle.

The conditions conducive for catastrophic and unpredictable events would ensue.

When, the nocturnal cooling effect is negated for a prolonged period of time, the pollution of clinical scale sets in.

This is already happening in China and India.

Strangely AI does not come into play in the comment below.

I think one of the conditions where AI would be helpful (certainly not accurate) biases of Public Media Platforms.

The authors found that "Wikipedia articles are more slanted towards Democratic views than are Britannica articles, as well as more biased", particularly those focusing on civil rights, corporations, and government. 

 

As far as Linux is concerned, my current interest, it does not represent an accurate view of the Global Impact on Linux.

That is another reason for me writing a book on Linux. 

 

I visit Wikipedia less and less and it has lost its potential over time.

I have been doing some work for my Book on Linux Essentials.

What is stated are from that research.

 

I am am Intel and NVIDIA addict from 1980s and I have used only those brands.

I have burned several RAMs and only one Graphic Card during my Windows days and NONE after going fully on Linux.

DO NOT blame the manufacturer but Microsoft Windows which is a very bad choice to begin with. 

They are only interested in profits and not after sale service.

One way to overcome this is to go for at least 3 year warranty.

1. ZOTAC GPU

Comparatively cheap and supposed to be having cooling problems. 

This also may be due to fixing them in an Old Unit not fully dusted. The fans get clogged with dust and cobwebs. Warm atmosphere makes spiders to come in side. 

Thankfully I have not had any problem with ants. I slide, both the front and back panel once year and inspect. 

I do updates only once in 3 years and wait for the old generation to go down in prices. 

Only CPU, I used to worry about and go for the best available.

 

I am a computer addict.

There are over 20 models to choose.

2. NVIDIA 

DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling)

CUDA the core I.C. Unit.

For high frame rate for second games

GeForce RTX tops the list

Very expensive.

Probably now built in Taiwan and not in America 

3. AMD Redeon

64 MP Multi Processing

Well below NVIDIA fps rate

Comes from UK

Still considerably expensive due to pound factor.

4. Intel 

Xess

Core are in Xe series base level of 32 going up to 128.

Cheapest

Lowest fps rate

I have only used them.

So I cannot be considered an expert in telling a newbie what to choose.

Points of interest

1. Number of pixel for unit

Old 1080p

Modern 1440p and probably above

2. How many core or Processing units

CUDA in NVDIA

64MP in Raedon

Xess in Intel 

3. Video RAM VRAM

8GB for 1080p

16GB for 1440p

32GB and above for Ray Tracing (I still do not understand this feature)

I am no longer a PC gamer now.

I am a Linux guy not a Windows guy.

I started with Atari and Commodore.

I downloaded Batocera Linux  image and played a Commodore game just a few hours ago.

Not only the nostalgia, the pace of the game was easy for a guy nearing 80.

The modern games are to fast, even for kids. If one plays these games as an addict, one would get RSI or Repetitive Stress Injury. This name comes from the stress injury (RSI) seen in career typists. 

I think our generation of doctors in 1980s coined this for Medical Secretaries. Word processing was coming in for Medical fraternity, then.

The name had changed to Repetitive Strain Injury. 

Keyboard is the major culprit.

I only use one finger in typing and two fingers the most and I have never had this problem. 

I am using this one finger method to type this post in a cheap Chinese Xomia cellphone.

Technological innovation is bewildering and my worry is AI taking over our FREEDOM.

Unfortunately, this is happening in China right at this moment and workers are treated like slaves during the time of Beilby Proteus.

Next IMF Boss and My Selection

Moment I sent one of my dreams to Maha Brahma, strangely enough I stop dreaming altogether.

I know Maha Brahma is as lazy as me on holidays and he probably has cast a spell on me.

“Not to have good dreams on my account”.

I sleep well these days in spite of the mosquitoes and very hot weather.
I forget that we are on industrial action and voided our heads (Departmental Heads) from all extraneous headship headaches.

That is the reason I am sleeping well.

So if you sleep bad resign from your administrative work and buy a good pillow, will you?

It gives you good dose of sleep, I can assure you.
 

Unfortunately not for the politicians who generally have no work except constant jabbering.

So I will write something on “I wish I could have dreamt”

I wish to dream myself as the next head of IMF.

Even better, I wish I am the head (now I am headless) in the selection board for selecting next IMF boss.

My selection criteria are as follows.

1. He is Caucasian

2. He is White or African Brown and White mixture (Obama type) and never Chinese yellow.

3. He thinks he is clever

4. He has no idea about how to help needy countries like Ceylon.

Stop interfering with US-AIDS

5. He should have terrorist type of attitude to human relationship especially of the Third World (Bun Ki Moon type with round face and no smile) countries and Middle East. (That is Bun Ki Moon type without a false smile-special vagary of his archetype).

6. He should be a aspiring leader and member of a labour organization of his own country or has held a ministerial post without a portfolio.

7. He should be 70 plus

There is one exception
He should have a very small phallus (penis) or wishes him castrated while on the job and have some artificial spongy substance installed inside for him to squeeze when dealing with a big problem like white flags of Wesak of Ceylon.

Castrated organs should be sent to WHO for live freezing and could be auctioned for transplantation (highest bidder from the third world), if he dies on the job while chasing behind a maid for childhood (Peek a Boo) fun in a hotel by a heart attack.

I am pretty sure he will not want his organs back but prefers organs from a younger guy who died from an accident (while driving his car) instead of his own.
Now he can afford it with the big perks alone.

Now what is for me.
I wish I am the one entrusted with castrating him and looking at his testicles first hand being a pathologist, I like round things and nodes and tumours.

But to have my own friction with the IMF, I will put lead balls (or pellets excavated from Vanni) very heavy instead of sponge.

My justification.

He will sit and work all day and night and won’t chase maids on vacation.

It is very difficult to run with heavy objects dangling!

I wish this would have come as dream.
 

Maha Brahma I am sorry I cannot send this for your interpretation.

This is not a dream but a wishful thinking and a honest aspiration!

If my experiment works well which I have no doubt, I would like to share my experience with the WHO and UNO, if there are any sensible ones still employed there.

This blog post has a piece to say who was Beilby Porteus. 

He was bishop who fought the British against the slave trade in the West Indies.

Regarding the this distributions which I have tested in the past in 32 bit version shows how with minimum of resources one can run a functioning distribution. I tested the new  version of Chimera Gnome it is 1.6GB. What it means is evry distribution has its favorite application but Proteus provides the same functionality with one third of the resources. 

I think Chimera is BSD based (I stand to correction), if it is so thank YOU BSD. BSD was the one who broke the back of Booting Monopoly of Microsoft Windows. 

I used it to erase the traces of Microsoft in my laptop which I bought cheap in Singapore. It has figure of 8 boot virus still but I know how to live with it. My GUT FEELING is Microsoft itself used this virus to ruin the life of guys and girls pirated Microsoft Copyrights. In actual fact Microsoft own your computer and has a backdoor to spy on the user. Worse part is they share this information (this encryption ploy is to hoodwink the user) with security agencies. By the way, Apple guys also share your information. 

They are legally bound.

Linux can track the guys who is spying on. One need not use Parrot OS or Kali Linux or Tails. 

Debian can do that and I have used Debian for that purpose, in the past.

I am not a paranoid guy. 

Paranoia is a disease only the security guys with special training have. It cannot be treated but never marry one of these guys or girls.

I am telling YOU as a doctor in full retirement.

I use Linux as a hobby.

SAM Linux - 2007

Current Version is based on Proteus.

It is only 680MB and a CD version.

Tested it on Box and it has OpenOffice 4.1 of Apache which I was trying to install on Debian which I could not.

 It has a Virtual Box builder.

Really Good distributions.

 Old version

My live CD craze started with SAM 2007 and it went up to SAM 2009.

It is a derivative of PCLinuxOS and is based on Xfce.

My attempt at testing 100 live CDs would not have taken place,  if I did not come across SAM-2007 almost by accident.

 

All the credit goes to SAM and the Xfce. 

This was long before the my discovery of PCLinux.

It's last edition based on PCLinux was on August, 2009.

I waited long to I see the new edition in 2010 that is not to be yet and that will be a brand new edition and not based on PCLinux.

Unfortunately it is not going to be before I finish the 100.

SAM 2007 was the best live CD for me for quite a long time with games and lot of web utilities and that was the CD I used to demonstrate Linux (how easy to mount a live CD and configure internet cards).

I will edit this page when a new edition is on the horizon.

 

Vinux

This was very elegant distribution during 32 bit imte which I used.

I hope it would get revived.

Vinux

Vinux was an Ubuntu-derived distribution optimised for the needs of blind and partially sighted users. By default Vinux provides two screen readers, Braille display support and a friendly community. When booting the live Vinux image, the users are greeted by the Orca screen reader that enables them to navigate the graphical Unity desktop using keyboard commands. Additionally, Brltty provides grade 1 and 2 Braille output via Orca.

Batocera Game Iso Image

For better options one should Install Batocera in your computer and configure it to your taste but read the BATOCERA online manual for details. 

Batocera Game Iso Image can be written not only to a USB stick but even into a SD card mounted on a USB SD Card mounter.

Batocera compressed gz image is 3.5. 

This is 41 st version. 

I had 37 version.

It expands to over 9.1GB

Extraction is very slow. It took a hell of a long time and I am currently making a bootable USB.

I had USB prepared it did not boot with new updated Debian image.

It does not has ESP part, I believe.

batocera.linux is a Linux distro for retro game lovers. You can play retro games from Atari, Super Nintendo, SEGA, Dreamcast, some GameBoy Advance games, and a lot more. However, you need to own the games in order to play them.

You do not need to install the OS by partitioning your hard drive, you just need a USB stick and you can boot directly from it to play the games you own. 

It also comes with Kodi Media Center integrated, so that you can switch to watching movies when you get bored with games.

 

 There things to keep in mind before choosing a Linux distribution for gaming purposes are:

    1. The distribution should be easy to use.
    2. The software tools that you need to get started should be readily available and easy to install (check out our Linux gaming guide to explore more about it).
    3. The distribution should be resource-friendly.
