Open Indiana Update.
Open Indiana
Update.
Open Indiana has
just posted its latest Iso (Os) on torrent.
I downloaded and it
booted on my dying old IBM.
For some unknown
reason it does not detect the boot loader (some error in the MBR,
probably)
I boot it by a live
DVD/Cd and then use the Live DVD menu Hard Disk option and boot my
OS, Peppermint.
This is what I am
going to do with my old horse till it packs up.
I have tested over
200 live CDs on it and the reason for packing up is partly due to
that, I believe.
But the real culprit
is our Electricity Supply which has done enormous damage to many
equipment including computers.
It cannot provide
constant voltage or reliable voltage.
Coming back to Open
Indian, it has option for Live as well as booting from hard disk (I
did not try with Open Indiana / Solaris but by MUKULU Linux).
I too a little time
but has pleasing Gnome Desktop.
The partition Editor
did not detect my partitions bout detected the SATA hard disk.
Browser was FireFox.
There was no
LibreOffice or Abiword.
I could not locate
the software store to add software.
It is falling behind
Linux but I still have my Open Solaris Free disk in my archive which
Sun posted it to me free in my early days with Linux.
I hope the
developers / community is well supported (in its endeavours).
OpenSolaris
was Sun's open-sourcing of most of the System V (plus much else) Unix
based Solaris operating system. It's now the third major family of
open-source Unix, after Linux and BSD.
OpenIndiana
is a general purpose distribution with X and desktop environment. If
you intend to run illumos on the desktop, you want OpenIndiana.

Escape from Dogmatism
Escape from Dogmatism
In this world of uncertainty, it is very easy for a dogma to creep in imperceptibly.
Religion is one of them.
It promises heaven and hell or man’s emancipation or salvation but nothing in this life and in between.
Politics is another.
It promises good governance and delivers corruption.
The science in another.
It promises the moon and mars exploration, knowing very well they are not habitable.
Education promises prosperity but at least half of them are without jobs but the half who have got jobs are doing menial jobs not what they are trained for or looking for.
The list can be endless but there is no attempt at getting rid of the dogmatism.
In actual fact, there is no escape from dogmatism.

The Elephant Corridor, A Myth
The Elephant Corridor. A Myth
The Elephant Corridor in Sri-Lanka is a myth.
Yala, Wagamuwa, Wilpattu and Uda Walawe are not connected by a corridor for the elephants to move freely, since the rest of the land is densely populated and there is not even a hypothetical corridor.
My calculation is that not even one percent of the land is reserved for the elephants.
If I assume 10% (ten) of the land is allocated in a hypothetical space on this island as a zoological garden and all the elephants are relocated inside it for the people to see them as exhibits, and only 0.1% of the total population come to this putative zoological garden, to see them on one go (again hypothetical), there will be one man or woman standing every 10 feet (3.3 meters) of the perimeter and no elephant can move out without touching a human being.
If we get 1% to visit this zoo, one can stand and won’t be able to stretch the hands without pushing or shoving.
Elephant will have to trample 10 of them to get out of the perimeter and see the man’s world, which is fully developed.
One may wonder, why I used 10% which is high land mass in commercial concepts.
It is very simple.
My estimate is that there should be at least 35% of total land mass of the island to be reserved for rain forest, if we are to maintain at least 10% of our perennial rivers.
So take another 5% of for lakes, rivers and water bodies, we can assume that, we have 30% for the rain forest, the wild elephants should take major share of it, at least one third of it, which would be my target 10% of land reserve for elephants.
Please note that we have only about 1% occupying, water bodies equivalent to 870 km² of water or 400 square miles.
It is not enormous by any stretch of imagination, and can decline rapidly, if the rain fails for a prolong period.
That is another reason for elephant migration, looking for water bodies not only for foraging.
Currently, it is less than 25% may be touching 20% (we will be like Dubai in about another 50 years with the current development heist) and I say, not even 1% of the land is dedicated and left solely for our elephants.
So, the elephants have to, and they have no choice left, but to migrate through the developed land and we call it the encroachment and in actual fact it is the man who has encroached upon its habitat.
This is mainly due to our population explosion in relation to decline in elephant population.
So, by this unnatural selection, it will be only 500 elephants that will survive in the this land, and it is really an endangered species.
Stating that we have 5000 elephants in the forest is a mythical figure concocted by our Mega Media Men (M.M.M) to satisfy the politicians.
I think each elephant is counted ten (10) times in making that mythical figure, sometimes by reputed NGO's.
Development of the man’s world is also a big myth in the same stretch of imagination, since only a very few with patronage will be able to enjoy it.
I have made this calculation confusing and difficult so that politicians won’t be able to understand my logic of it but the figures are below for one to work out.
Human Population density in Sril-Lanka averaged out but in reality it is much more than that because people congregate on socio-economic reasons.
The population density in Gamphaha is more than Decca and Calcatta.
Kandy has 10 times the population density of Gaza Strip.
Beauty is that nobody talks about population control.
I have used the total population projected in another 10 to 50 years for my calculation since total square miles is roughly 25,000.
1000 in a square mile
400 in a Square Kilometer
400 x 2.4 =1000
Reserve only 10% 2500 Sq Miles (6500 Sq. Meters)
0.1 of population 250,000
Every 10 feet or 3.3 meters there is a man or woman standing.
Location Indian Ocean Coordinates 7°N 81°E
Area 65,610 km2 (25,332 sq miles)
Area rank 25th
Coastline 1,340 km (833 miles)
Highest elevation 2,524.13 m (8,281.27 ft)
Highest point Pidurutalagala
Water bodies 870 km² of water = 400 square miles and that is only about 1% of the land surface.
(If Water body is 1.5 % it equals to 1000 Km).
Population density 1000 / sq miles
Population density 400 / km
Hypothetical Elephants population is 1000 and it is exaggerated to 5000 by local media giants.
The biggest lie in this country.

Zebra Experiment
This is a chapter in my next book, Reflection, will be out soon.
Zebra Fish and Black Guppy
I have reason to believe there is unhealthy practices of Fish Breeding.
I may have briefly mentioned this sometime in the past. I cannot trace the piece of writing.
In any case there seems to be new developments.
There is a guy who breeds albino zebras.
He has now introduced a pink strain.
I have an obsession on the topic of pigmentation, especially in regard to Guppy fish.
I wished as a kid, I could see a Guppy black like a black molly.
A guy in Thibirigasya, actually accomplished it.
He deserves a Nobel Prize.
I do not know how he accomplished it but to see a Guppy with band of black is common now.
These Guppies are robust, healthy and of reasonable size.
But all the variants of Zebras are tiny.
They do not grow to adult size in spite of proper feeding.
They do not mix in the shoal with normally colored zebras.
In other words thy are unhealthy.
Toady, I received a batch of albino tetras free of charge from a dealer, whom I knew for two decades.
The idea was for me to look after them (confirmed disabled) sympathetically until they die.
One of them died on transit due to shock.
Rest went into panic state the moment, I introduced them to my main tank.
I sat there and watched their agony for half an hour.
Only two recovered in half an hour.
Most of them were partially blind or an eye was totally missing.
One was totally blind and took the longest to recover.
After one hour all of them could balance and swim in a comical manner.
They had two problems.
One was blindness.
The other was balancing.
I believe these strains are poisoned in their breeding.
They must be using very toxic material.
There is unsupervised breeding programs in this country.
These chemical are hazardous to humans and other animals and are slowly percolating into our ground water.
Who is allowing these materials to be imported?
That is my big question.
Zebra Experiment
I bought the zebra fish with an intention of crossbreeding them. They are easy to breed but one need an elaborate tanks to separate the eggs from the parents and also have adequate quantity of infusoria.
Infusoria
Infusoria grows naturally in most tanks, particularly those with live plants. However, there may not be sufficient quantities to sustain a full hatching of fry.
The term infusoria is an old one that has changed in meaning over the years. At one time it referred to just about any microscopic, or nearly microscopic, organism that lived in fresh water. That use of that word long ago became outdated in the scientific community.
However, the term infusoria is still used by many within the aquarium community, even by younger fish enthusiasts. To aquarium enthusiasts infusoria refers to many small organisms in water that tiny fry can feed up upon.
Although it's not feasible to name every organism that could be in an infusoria culture, some of the primary ones include, algae (volvox), amoebae, euglena, paramecium, rotifers, stentor and vorticella.
Therefore, it is helpful to culture your own infusoria to ensure having an adequate amount.

Knoppix-7.5-Booting With A Flash Drive
The latest 7.5.2 was out few days ago.
Knoppix-7.5
I just booted (Old IBM)Knoppix 7.5that came with the Linux Magazine.
Currently preparing a bootable USB with overlay facility.
It needs about 4.5 GiB for the distribution and the rest for my data.
I am using 8 GiB Flash Drive.
It gives the option of encrypting the data, which I declined.
I am not paranoid,yet.
It has a small image of 12 MiB for bootable CD but I could not find it.
That is for a computer that cannot be booted by a Flash Drive.
One boots with the CD and then write the image to the Flash Drive.
If you have an old computer with a BIOS that does not support USB booting,
With two combination, Mini CD and Flash Drive now you can boot from a Flash Drive.
It is currently available with Linux Magazine ONLY.
It has IceWeasle, Fire Fox and Chrome as browsers.
I use Iceweasle since it has security options built in.
Please excuse if there are typos.
My old computer's audio is not configured with almost all the current Linux Distributions that I have tried BUT Knoppix configures it very well.
So if I need to Listen to something on the Web, I am going to boot with the Flash Drive.
Why use Flash Drive?
It is faster than the DVD.
Thanks guys/Girls of Knopix.
Yes it is the best Live DVD.
But hope you will continue to have the CD version, too.
I finally found the small iso in th Knoppix folder, but I could not get the K3B to burn the image booted with the USB stick with DVD writer available for writing.
I copied the image to my Linux download folder and currently writing it to a CD.
There is something I always do.
Copy the DVD image to another DVD and place the original DVD in my archive and only use the second copy for my demonstrations.

Elephants (The Good Governance)
Elephants (The Good Governance)
The elephant the biggest mammal is threatened.
The big mammoth went into extinction due to two reasons. One is it was considered to be food for the prehistoric man. They were hunted down to extinction. The second more probable reason is they acquired a variant of human disease, the killer tuberculosis. It was not due to deforestation.
The story about the Sri-Lankan elephant is no different.
They were hunted for ivory.
They were domesticated by kings for the war machines.
Then it was the symbol of a party.
It was the prized possession of the wealthy and was their hired heavy labour.
Latest was the merchandise of ill repute.
Politicians with power started dealing with illegal capture and transfer of baby elephants.
By selective genetic extermination by the Sri-Lankan hunters, the percentage of tusked animals went below five percent.
So they went in for the real kill.
Kill the mother (she) elephant and hunt the baby elephant as a merchandise. This went on in broad day light after the war.
Even, LTTE never mixed up their politics with elephant trade.
The end of the war came and the political masters without the terrorist threat went for the bounty.
Sri-Lankan media it was ‘moms the word’ since rulers and the political henchmen were in this big business.
Then added to this deforestation and location of sugar cane and banana plantation in their migration path way.
From 1960s (CP. De Silvas time) for politicians elephant was a merchandise and they used the bogus claim of damage to poor farmers plots. They were not poor farmer but hashish (ganja) growers and some politicians were involved in this hashish trade. They in fact come to the parliament to protect their illegal trading interests.
Parallel with these development their is a ‘Flora and Fauna Act’ with a director to oversee the enactment of these laws.
But he becomes part of the problem and the elephant register disappears and duplicate registers are introduced.
He is paid a salary and a pension for all of his inaction.
None of these were elephant friendly actions.
Their population has gone down to 2000 and the official figured are ‘cooked up’ figures.
Who believes their statistics when our children’s malnutrition is reported as 20% percent when actual ground level malnutrition is double of it nearing 40%, especially in the war torn areas.
Would you expect our forest officers to go to the forest and count them every day.
Most of them are in their homes and go to the base to collect the monthly salary.
Pure nonsense.
They are only targeting which one is their next prized kill.
This is how we achieved our miracle progress.

Swiss bank accounts
Swiss bank accounts
I was surprised to see New Zealand and Singapore topping Sri-Lanka.
It is interesting to know the time period of these deposits.
Then an average citizen can make a decision to select the worst government in power and vote them back into power again.
I guess the last regime must be on the top with a clear margin of victory.
Of course these individuals should use that money for the election campaign without using the public coffers (money).
Sri Lanka is ranked 112 among the countries with the largest
dollar amounts in the leaked Swiss files. According to its data,
ninety two Sri Lankan clients had 129 bank accounts worth
approximately US $ 58.3 million.
The maximum amount of money associated with a client connected to
Sri Lanka was $10.7M.
2. United Kingdom $21.7B16. India $4.1B
50. Singapore $758M
63. Seychelles $506.4M
90. New Zealand $151.6M
112. Sri Lanka $58.3M
113. Thailand $57.3M

Little Black ants saved my Eyes
Little
Black ants saved my Eyes
This is dedicated to the tiny
animals (plants included) that we barely see with the naked eye.
Unfortunately, to see the
microbes we need a satisfactory microscope.
That alone is not enough we
need to kill them, fix them and stain them.
All important cells are white
and transparent to light to protect them from light and energy rays.
Only few cells carry pigments
that protect cells and confine them to important energy transfer
systems.
Reason being we cannot see
cells unless they contain a pigment that our eyes can see (light is a
spectrum of many energy forms, unfortunately human eye can see only a
tiny part of the spectrum; this is true for hearing and smell too) or
we do deliberately use at least (Blue and Red) two pigments which our
eyes can distinguish.
The computer can distinguish
millions of colour shades but our eyes can contrast 16 colour shades
for sure and 256 with some difficulty.
This is to express the man's
visual limitations.
The black ant means that it
takes all the colours in with its pigments and leave us nothing to
see inside it except its outline in tiny visual forms.
That is for its protection to
indicate there are other form of life not only humans on this planet.
This tiny article is to
highlight the danger of plastics and fire.
Fire is a universal hazard, I
need not elaborate.
Plastic is a bigger hazard
than fire.
Fire is useful in converting
the things that are not bio-degradable to elements and oxides.
Plastics is a polymer without
an enzyme to break it bonds.
We can break it by burning
only at the expense producing toxic elements and reactive toxic
elements that deplete ozone layer.
Now coming back to another
risk of burning plastics and many plastic containers, they can
explode without any warning.
That is what happened to me.
I wanted to get rid of the one
week collection of perishables.
I took all the normal
precautions.
Dog was safely away and iron
fence locked.
All the papers sorted out.
All the plastic bottles washed
and dry and tops removed.
All the yogurt and ice cream
cartoons washed and no ants.
Then I set fire to the first
set and came back to the pantry to add few more remaining items.
That set was from my wife with
lot of ants in them.
I took it to the fire place
and was six feet (my risk taking distance) away from the burning
fire.
I started separating food
containing items with ants and items without ants to be put to the
the fire.
There was impending rain.
I was in a bit of a rush and
not paying attention.
Moment Meditation not taken care!
All of a sudden there was an
explosion.
My body not facing front on,
but the left side of the body got a shower of burning plastic
projectiles and the biggest one landed on my right forehand.
I did not have a bucket of
water near me.
I usually keep a tiny bucket
full of water for an emergency.
With the rain impending that
was not considered necessary.
by the time I reached the
water tap, the tiny explosive was firmly glued to my skin and the
skin burned to full depth.
There was a shower of tiny
plastic pellets on my head, hair, and the left side of the neck.
I stop counting.
I usually wear a short for
outdoor work.
With some luck I was wearing a
sarong.
Lot of tiny pellets had taken
shelter of my sarong and making tiny holes of forensic importance
imprinted for posterity, in case of an unexpected fire and I succumbed
to it.
For my luck the rain was
coming down.
I let the rain drops fall on
me with meditative attention.
If I was not focusing on the
tiny black ants, the shower of plastic pellets would ave been
directly on my eyes and I would not be writing this piece.
Who
says 'Bit of Metta' has no pace in this world of ours.
Even, the mother nature is
with you (rain in this case) if one is in harmony with the nature.
Half a our later when I was
brushing my hair, I noticed partially burned hair.
How fickle is the life on
earth for tiny beings, just like my partially burnt hair.
I would like to reflect on it,
now and in the future.

4M Linux and Web Convergence
4M Linux was a Tiny Linux that was pretty good for its size.
The latest version (all in one) nearly 400 MiB has made mess of its functions.
It does not recognize my keyboard (US) and USB mouse.
The Web Kiosk that come from UK also has no path for exit (Alt + Ctrl plus F1 to F6).
Additionally it does force YOU to register with them.
Please Don't.
If you want access the web without registering on a live session please remove the link and type www.google.com and you are linked to world wide web without any assistance.
Read my comments here there are over 200 live Linux CD / DVDs that gives more option than the miserly web convergence Linux.

Elephant Myths-04-How the Sri-Lankan Mafia Killed our Wild Elephants?
Elephant Myths-04
How the Sri-Lankan Mafia Killed our Wild Elephants?
How the Sri-Lankan Mafia Killed our Wild Elephants?
There is a hive of activity as regard to the elephant trade.
There was a mafia that operated with the connivance of the
politicians.
There are thugs hiding behind saffron cloth that made the outer
circle of this mafia.
My third book on elephants (elephant myths) was deferred with a valid
reason.
I could not bear to reveal the 10 cruel ways of killing elephants
since these methods once revealed would be used for further cruelty
to even other animals.
Like aiding and abetting in criminal law not revealing the
operational methods is also a crime.
Let me list them for investigation by proper officials of the present
corrupt Department of Forestry.
1. When elephants venture into huts of Ganja growers (in the name of
vegetable farming), they cut the tip of the elephant trunk with a Kattha or a sword.
That is the end of the majesty.

The lost of their habitat and traps laid in their migration pathway
with the help of the government officials is the biggest crime.
There was an organized crime syndicate and the connivance of the
print media moguls (heading this crime syndicate) was evident.
That is why none of the elephants thieves who operate with impunity
were not captured under Mahinda Chinthanaya.
They go scot free during the 100 day program.

Lemon, Rice and Banana
Lemon Rice and Banana
This is a reproduction.
I did not know RICE act like a silica gel.
I am an advocate of not using any chemicals with bio-hazard to humans and all living beings.
Do not use Sri-Lankan Banana Peel as a manure / fertilizer.
Our farmers inject poisonous UREA into the stem of the flower and these poisonous chemicals are in the peel.
I have tested them personally.
I avoided eating BANANA for a long while.
Under, Mahinda Chinthanaya, money was the only target, Quality and Safety were not considered important.
Reproduction.
When I was young, Femina magazine had a page with household hints. Now when I come across the magazine I see that they no longer have it. Pity!
When I was young, Femina magazine had a page with household hints. Now when I come across the magazine I see that they no longer have it. Pity!
Anyway here are some household hints on what you can
do with lemons, vinegar, rice, milk and eggshells.
Citrus rinds, such as lime and lemon, make a great
polisher. To speed up the process a bit, try sprinkling a little
baking soda.
Rub a banana peel against the leaves of the plants in
your house and it will result in a beautiful shine. Banana peels can
also act as a natural fertilizer. Before bringing out the chemicals
in the kitchen, try cleaning grease with lemon. Sprinkle affected
area with salt or baking soda and then rub with juiced lemon halves.
To make glass coffee pots sparkle: add ice, salt and
lemon rinds to an empty coffee pot; swirl around for a minute or two,
dump and rinse well.
For mineral deposit build-up in tea kettles, fill the
vessel with water and a handful of lemon peels and bring to a boil.
Turn off heat and let it sit for an hour, drain and rinse well.
To stop the salt from clumping together put a few
grains of rice in your salt shaker. They'll absorb the moisture,
allowing your salt to pour freely.
Ever got your cell phone wet? Or accidentally spilt
liquid on your television remote? If so, your gadget may be
water-logged. Before you replace it, try leaving it in a tub of rice
for a couple of hours or overnight. The rice will absorb the wetness
and hopefully restore your device to working order.
You can use rice to clean your plastic kitchen wear.
Just pour an inch into your container with two inches of water. Close
the container tightly and shake it; the rice scrubs the inside and
removes stubborn dirt.
Whether it's a bathroom fixture or a decorative
accessory, you can restore the beauty of chrome just by rubbing the
item with half of a lemon. Just glide, let sit for ten minutes and
then wipe away finish.
Grout is the cement between the tiles. If it goes
grey, cut a lemon into quarters and then use the pieces to scrub into
the grout in between tiles. (If it's a really set-in stain, call upon
an old toothbrush to help you rub the lemon into the grout.) The
juice helps break down mildew, mould and other mysterious stains.
Rinse with plenty of water.
To eliminate odours from a microwave, simply fill a
small bowl with water, add a few lemon slices and then heat for 45
seconds. Let sit; then wipe out the inside of the microwave.
If you don’t want your cats in a certain spot in
your home spritz the surface with a 50/50 solution of lemon juice and
water.
After a while, coffee grounds can build up into the
grinding blades. To eliminate the mess, simply grind about a 1/3 to a
1/2 cup of sugar, then empty. This can also deodorize, making sugar
an excellent "cleaner" for spice grinders, too.
Vinegar is an effective bacteria killer, and you can
use it for household cleaning purposes, ranging from scrubbing the
tub to even cleaning mirrors or stainless steel.
Try putting a little bit of baking soda into a
clogged drain and then pour vinegar into it. Your drain will erupt
and the reaction helps break down the clogging. This is much safer
than industrial chemical drain cleaners which are toxic.
Do you have some stinky laundry? Just pour a cup of
vinegar into the washer or the bucket and it helps take care of your
odour problems. The vinegar also helps keep your fabric soft and
fluffy. Just add the vinegar when you start the laundry with your
regular detergent.
Clear The Air. When painting the walls, all paints
give off some odour. A dish of vinegar placed in the room will reduce
the smell.
In addition to cleaning tarnished silver and rusty
pans, potatoes can also be used to clean up your shoes. If you have
shoes that just don’t seem to take a shine anymore, try cutting a
potato in half and rubbing those old shoes with the raw potato. After
that, polish them. They should come out nice and shiny.
Potatoes are nutritious for your flowers as well.
When you plant your flowers in the ground, place some small slivers
of a potato around the root. As the potato breaks down, it releases
nutrients into the soil.
A classic tip for keeping a bouquet lasting as long
as possible, add three tablespoons of sugar along with two
tablespoons of vinegar to the water in your flower vase. The sugar
provides nutrients to keep the clippings alive, while the vinegar
fights off bacterial infections.
Whether it's from a pen or printer, these stains can
often mean the end of the road for a garment. Not so, if you use milk
before laundering. The enzymes in milk will dissolve the ink, without
harming the material.
Do you have a cup that has been stained by your
favourite warm beverage? Grind up some eggshells and drop them in the
drink-ware filled with warm water. Let it sit overnight, and the egg
shell will absorb the stain.
Use egg shells to start seeds. Fill the egg shell
half with soil and the seed, then plant directly into the ground (or
into the pot). As the plant develops and the shell breaks down, it
provides the seedling with plenty of nutrients.

Pigeons and Religion
This is an email I received
Pigeons and Religion
Yes
we are all human being first and then religion comes next.
How many fanatics will understand this?
In an ancient temple, a number of pigeons lived happily on roof top.
When the renovation of the temple began for the annual temple feast the pigeons relocated themselves to a Church nearby.
The existing pigeons in the Church accommodated the new comers very well.
Christmas was nearing and the Church was given a face lift.
All the pigeons had to move out and look for another place.
They were fortunate to find a place in a Mosque nearby.
The pigeons in the Mosque welcomed them happily.
It was Ramadan time and the Mosque was repainted.
All the pigeons now came to the same ancient temple.
One day the pigeons on top found some communal clashes below in a market square. The baby pigeon asked the mother pigeon "Who are these people ".
The mother replied; they are "Human beings".
The baby asked, "but why are they fighting with each other".
The mother said "These human beings going to temple are called 'Hindus' and the people going to Church are called 'Christians' and
the people going to Mosque are called 'Muslims'.
The Baby pigeon asked, "why is it so? Look, when we were in the Temple we were called Pigeons, when we were in the church we were called Pigeons and when we were in the Mosque, we were called Pigeons.
Similarly they should be called just 'Human beings' wherever they go".
The mother Pigeon said, 'You and me and our Pigeon friends have experienced God and that's why we are living here in a highly elevated place peacefully.
These people are yet to experience God.
Hence they are living below us and fighting and killing each other".
Reflect!

Unhealthy practices of Fish Breeding
Unhealthy
practices of Fish Breeding
I may have briefly mentioned this sometime in the past.
I cannot trace the piece I wrote.
In any case there seems to be new developments.
There is a guy who breeds albino zebras.
He has now introduced a pink strain.
I have an obsession on the topic of pigmentation, especially in
regard to Guppy fish.
I wished I could see a Guppy black like a black molly.
A guy in Thibirigasya, actually accomplished it.
He deserves a Nobel Prize.
I do not know how he accomplished it but to see a Guppy with band of
black is common now.
These Guppies are robust, healthy and of reasonable size.
But all the variants of Zebras are tiny.
They do not grow to adult size in spite of proper feeding.
They do not mix in the shoal with normally coloured zebras.
In other words thy are unhealthy.
Toady, I received a batch of albino tetras FREE from a dealer, I knew
for two decades.
The idea was for me to look after them (confirmed disabled)
sympathetically until they die.
One of them died on transit due to shock.
Rest went into panic state the moment I introduced them to my main
tank.
I sat there and watched their agony for half an hour.
Only two recovered in half an hour.
Most of them were partially blind or an eye was totally missing.
One was totally blind and took the longest to recover.
After one hour all of them could balance and swim in a comical
manner.
They had two problems.
One was blindness.
The other was balancing.
I believe these strains are poisoned in their breeding.
They must be using very toxic material.
There is unsupervised breeding programs in this country.
These chemical are hazardous to humans and other animals and are
slowly percolating into our ground water.
Who is allowing these materials to be imported?
That is my big question.
