Why one should not change habits for the same of market hype?

I will ask few question?

Would you change brand of tooth paste tooth brush?

Would you change your razor blade or electric shaver?

Would you change your hair cut?

Would you change your tie?

Would you change your computer or the Operating system?
In my case I will only change my tie.
 

I rarely wear ties nowadays but I have over 100 ties collected over 30 years.
Some of them were presents.
 

I have enough ties to make a rope and hand myself, if I need to.
 

But I keep them in an accessible place not (in the attic) and pick at random when I need one.
But when I look at ties others wear the ties are broad long and intrusive. 

It Looks like tie hides your personality.
 

I do not think that ties have a personality.
But I always get a comment, your tie is short or it is narrow, especially from my daughter.
But I do not go and buy a big one.
Why?
I do not need to hide behind a tie.
I know who I am.

If somebody is inquisitive I go little bit further.
I am going to remove this moment the function is over and back to my base.
You know if somebody is angry with me I do not let him/her use this tie to strangle me.

This is why our politicians never where a tie in public.
 

I wish them  do, though.
We do not need fire arm to kill a fellow guy.
 

Of course police can say he strangled himself (like the guy of insurance agency) in disgust of not coming on top of the preference list.
Real reason is that I am immune to change,  is that if one wears a tie one has to either wear a jacket or coat.
It is not the tie that matters in that context.
It is the coat or the jacket.
The tie becomes an accessory.
It does not matter whether it is big or small it has to match the coat in colour and size.
Who is going to wear coat in this tropical country with temperature over 95 degrees Fahrenheit?

 
Coming back to question 5 one should not change the computer or the operating system, if it is doing the right donkey/horse work for you.
It is just a waste of time.
I am almost (probably I will go on till December) finished testing Linux distributions.
The latest releases come from now onward till January and I have to check them for the sake of completeness and archiving.

Now this habit of releasing the new vwesrion has gone beyoud end of April?

Why?

Guys and girls are getting LAZY but I do not blame them.

Life is not only Linux and computers.
 

In fact, I have published my findings in a book at Amazon.
(” My Selection of Linux distributions” along with “Buddhism Made Simple”  in memory of my mother.
They are available now).
 

The most important thing is that if you are not changing like me, make sure you have an archived copy of your operating system.
After 5 years one cannot find a copy out there in the web.
There are no archives.

I am currently downloading (gone down to four from five distributions i have in my NUC), all the distributions I have used including Antix and keeping them in a NTFS folder.
It is going to be so because of the “sea change” happening.
 

Tablets and Cloud computing.
I have a nice DVD with all the utilities which I downloaded when I was abroad in 2009.
Linpus DVD, which is pretty good and all the utilities and Amaya too.
I cannot find a archive to download them now.
 

Instead Linpus Light 1.4 is there which is for tablets.
They are changing.
I could not download ALT Linux English Version (from Russia) like the Linpus Linux when abroad.
It supports schools in Russia and I was thinking it would be useful for us too in Ceylon.
After some hours of search, I managed to find the English Version and I am trying to download it for the last 10 days but could not finish it.
Once the point to point broke at 1.2 GiB.
Then after another search found the torrent and has only two seeders and one is always in sleep mode.
It is currently 2.5 GiB and need another 3 days to download at the current speed.
The bottom line is keep your CD/DVDs safe.
You do not know when you need them.
When you really need a copy it is no longer available for you in the Web.
Mind you unlike Microsoft there is no limit for the Linux CD/DVD to use for re-installing.
That is another reason I love Linux.
I have huge archive now and may never use them for my work but if a guy/s having searched and was crying that he/she could not find a copy he or she may  approach me and kindly ask please could I have a copy.
I will oblige.

Sinister Program to Uproot the Dhamma / Buddhsit Tradition in Ceylon

Milinda Moragoda is the program editor, who changes the next edition of this program and he has no tactical brain or vision at all. 

I have a good English word to describe his brain physiology but my British conventions prevents me from expressing it in broad day light.

He is just a cog in the wheel of destroying Buddhism in a subtle way. 

Big Program comes from India from Modi and RAW and they have placed enough cogs and Capital Maharaja Organizations and their TV channels are doing the bidding for Indians.

LTTE diaspora owns a few Sinhala channels for a long time.

They are also in the big game plan. 

 

Modi is very fearful of Buddhism for reason I cannot fathom but he currently fears more of Muslim backlash. I have an explanation which sound plausible.

He wants us to think Ceylon like a province of India. Unlike our President he is only the PM (temporary post)and has no title as the head of the state. He is jealous of the Title of President of Ceylon (wants to demote him to the title of governor of a provincial council) and if Ceylon become a province of India, just like Indira Ghandhi treated Ceylon under JRJ, he just feels like a powerful entity.

He is relving Indira Ghandhi's dream. Unfortunately, his son had to pay with his life as a Indian pavan's raping out Tamil Sister in the North.

Reliving the history is important.

Modi is no Buddhist at all acting like devout Buddhist is to hoodwink innocent Buddhists.

Even Namal has being duped by this act.

He is trying to become a master craftsman but he is exposing his own weaknesses.

Pakistan can take India to task with their Nuclear Bombs.

He must be wetting his pants ( Indian businessman like Adhani do not like his war antics) by provoking Pakistan and starting a simmering conflict.

Anura taking India's side is the stupidest of his Game Ranil (Gamaya) actions.

Ranil must be laughing at his bottom end and his plan was to oust Anura in two years and it might happen early if the provincial council elections become a disaster.

That is why this provincial council elections should be caught hard.

The provincial Council results might very well prove that the "Last Election was a fluke". 

 

Almost 30% of Indian are Muslims and that populous is expanding.

He is also fearing Bangladesh breaking away from Indian Grip. 

Global politics is very fluid with President Donald Trump upsetting the Apple Cart.

India was united only by the British and and breakaway provinces is a distinct probability.

Indian politics will outlast Modi by many a mile. Who is behind to take this mantle only RAW would know but anti-Buddhist tradition will prosper and will go on indefinitely.

Behind these strategies, there is financial and land grab policy but they are only short term projects.

Ranil is prepared to sell any part of this country before his demise.

Final cog is Anura Dissanayake and Haruni Amrasooriya would be quickly disposed of  because  Donald Trump is against intermediate sexes or people confused with sex orientation.

All these are anti-Buddhist modalities and underlying mentality would not prosper unless Buddhist populace lose the cognitive function to understand the evolving political  manipulations.

The long standing traditions in Ceylon should not destroyed or uprooted and Buddhists should take them on the bump.

 

We must look at the Kandy  Dalada Exposition with above anti-Buddhist program execution in mind. 

This partially demented J.B. Dissanayake's (one holds the post of professorship while actively working in that post and the post belongs to the University) entry should be taken in this spirit. 

Land around Maligawa are primeland and these business gus want to gobble the land and transplant Dalada in a less desirable place and J.B is promoting this plan.

I do not know where they want to take it and transplant.

Commotion created in Kandy may make a stupid but cajoled monk to take the Dalada away and the land is cleared for Ranil and the Clan.

Anything can happen with JVP/NPP in absolute power.

One who holds the Dalala is the King and that premise is inviolable.

It does not matter who holds the post of protecting the Dalada and he is not elevated to the state of King since British destroyed all the kingship genetics.

Only Malabar street in Kandy (now changed) has some vestige of the last King.

I have a feeling they might create scene in Kandy where one or two devotees crushed to death like in India on a Ganges Voyage.

I must relate a story how Indians try to take away our biodiversity products by a relatively unknown Indian campay.

Then he took us to his tutorial room and had a lovely discussion.

That was my introduction to philosophy.

My current interest is not religion but philosophy which is a first order discipline.

I said Tea is our Industry and promoting one kind against the other is bad.

Promote all.

There were no more questions and I ected from the back door.

I am very good at killing bar ideas.

It is the same with Catholic Action in Ceylon.

Emancipate and elevate the condition of our Buddhist and do not let Anura/ Harinn Homosexual "band vagon"

How Ceylon Became an Indians Province within 6 Months

Sponsored by Red Hat, Fedora is supposed to be called, a cutting edge distribution that features the latest technologies. Its software packaging is RPM. I have not used it for over 20 years, even though, I was a fan of Redhat 8 and 9. Well organised, somewhat rigid workplaces were its forte, usually four in number.      The latest version is stuck at 9.4 and I think, it still uses Gnome 3. I believe that is to protect it’s Code Base with a copyright tag attached which violates the “Free Software Principles”.
The recent inquiry and testing of Redhat based Isos after installing, I found it uses Btrfs file system to hide its faults within duplicate files and the files are compressed into single file which I cannot probe examine and look for bugs. There may be bugs and bugs within Redhat Code only they know of them.
Do not use it as daily driver or as a desktop.
I have no problem corporate guys and girls using it.
In that sense, it cannot boast itself to be the cutting edge distribution and that is my bone of contention. What one needs, as an average user is not the glossy appearance but the stability and security of the system.

Linux Mint

A derivative of Ubuntu, Linux Mint has tried to be like Windows built on top the Cinnamon desktop interface. It is bulky and fragmented with lot of proprietary applications. The very reason for fragmentation is the proprietary software embedded in the system with closed Code and when the OEM guys make changes to the hardware, the users are left high and dry. The abundance of graphic intensive hardware to cater for enlarging population of Linux Gamers is one side of the problem. The system upgrade that follows additional proprietary Code becomes a thorn in the flesh. Very often, it breaks down at the end of an upgrade. They have devised a Time-Shift mechanism to overcome this problem for long term users of Mint where an old copy of the old system is maintained behind the new system to fall back to, if the new system, breaks down.
It was originally based on Ubuntu but Ubuntu for no reason at all, changes it course.
Wayland compositor is an experimental platform for Ubuntu.  This is the very reason, lately Mint is going to be based on stable Debian instead of Ubuntu.

My advice is for the user to use Ext4 file system and not Btrfs. It has the same problems that Redhat has but to a lesser extent with file system management.

Ubuntu is renowned for its ease of use and popularity. Currently, it has divorced itself from Debian Package Manager and is transferring itself into               a commercial entity with a paid contribution strategy.            Its desktop is Gnome based but different and its panel system is different to Gnome Desktop. They are kept to the left hand side of the desktop. It has moved to the controversial self contained SNAP package system with missing components in many of the applications. Besides, it lacks many of the applications which            I consider essential in the first instance of its install. That may be a subtle ploy by the developers to make the user to totally depend on a particular distribution and thereby get stuck with one.

I had only four distributions in my NUC SATA disk with only is of 320GB capacity.

I know how much each distribution consume.

This is to finalize my book on "Linux Essentials".

Manjaro comes First and BlueStar Linux comes Second.

Unfortunately, Reborn OS failed in many of my tests.

But it is a good distribution in may ways and comes third of which I have tested that included CachyOS, Beryllium and many more.

Manjoro Gnome has finished.

I need to get my applications installed, now.

As I said many a times , Manjaro is one of the best ARCH based distribution.

That does not mean Reborn OS is bad, it is also pretty good but leaning curve is steep. 

Cachy OS is also pretty good so is BluStar and Endeavour OS.

The REALITY is I have gone Fully Gnome and would only spend time on Gnome Edition of any of the Linux distribution and not at all on bulky plasma or KDE even for testing.

They boot slow and and consume lot of resources. 

I am down to earth Linux guy with small is beautiful concept which Arch Linux practice by having one application (not multiples) for particular job.

I am late into ARCH philosophy and I wanted all Linux applications installed upfront and graphic based and not even text based (when I started Linux).

I started hating Linux Terminals except Vi and VIM.

I do not like to work in a black terminal.

By the way, There are colourful terminals coming out and Terminator looks good.beautiful.

Passing, Manjaro is helpful, colourful and its installation is fast.

It has already finished before I typed this piece.

I am going back to fine tune Manjaro.

I hope it preserved my GRUB Boot Loader. 

Only exception my boycott of KDE is KDE of MX Linux which is light weight and pretty good with an attractive boot up theme.

It has Flushbox minimal and Xfce editions, too.

It is modern derivative AntiX. 

I am trying my last attempt at RebornOS to see if it can stay with my other distributions without disrupting their boot up or bootstrap.

Perhaps this may become the "Title of a book", when I finish the five books I am currently working on but not related politics.

Politic is antithetic to me for very long time, though I was very much involved in getting Ma Ra out of power and getting Maru Sira and Ranil in who, hijacked the political aspiration of the populace and even created the "Easter Bombing Saga", the much talked and hyped Political Saga.

I have no (Sutra Puncha is his grass root name) respect or egard for Ranil.

He has cleverly placed Anura (becoming the political fool in no time) on top and continued acting on his CIA/MCC plan as planned.

It started in 2019, long time before the coronavirus epidemic. The epidemic slightly delayed the onslaught on Buddhist majority.

I hear already 3 had died in Kandy related to problems of managing the long queues. It is supposed to a Stinking Mess upto Kadgannawa on the Kandy Colmobe Road without proper sanitation measures.

This is like Ganges River Saga but they wash all the dirt to the river.

Our Magaweli River must be a stinking Mess and I pity the people washing clothes downstream.

Very soon they (JVP/NPP) will become victim of their own Creation of Mushrooming YouTube channels.

This is the very reason Modi quickly came in got his 7 or 9 papers signed well before the decline in the NPP/JVP popularity.

"Indian Conspiracy" is bound to fail this time round, too, since, they did not hatch the plot according to their plan themselves but bought into the plan that Ranil hatched.

I feel pity for his son who is working in the Sri-Lankan Airway which is suffering from financial difficulties. I did take a ticket to Air Lanka and even the Ceylon Tea was pretty bad. Clenliness was below par due to lot of Indian travellers.

I think Ma Ra would have a sigh of relief at least, "I am not the worst guy or as bad as Anura is".

At least he defeated the L.T.T.E. and this man has got trapped by the LTTE, Thanks to the Indian Intervention.

JVP started with anti-Indian slogan and I was third year (mature) student in the University then, and I used to ask "How can you defeat Army with "Gal Katas"?.

Of course, in 1988-89 I was 4th in their kill list of the Indian RAW and DJVP.

My crime was working in an international organization called IMMI. 

At that time Indian were anti-american and now they are good American allies.

This preamble  is to talk about the City called Kandy.

I have listed all the problems.

It is a small city.

When I was a kid it had only 3 doctors.

One was Dr. Nihal Karunarantne (Rich G.P) who was one of my family doctors.

He has written an excellent book on Kandy and its rich traditions.

Professor Anuradha has done a classical book on rich "Kandy Traditions*.

Unlike Indians we had some erudite and powerful writers in English.

Indians of course destroy Queens English by localization of it to their accent.

Their was a guy called Gupta who once wrote Buddha as a known rapist. 

That book was freely available in Ceylon.

My book was how these traditions and good things have declined drastically. 

I take a leave during Perehara and go to Singapore another small city of Asia but relatively well managed but expensive.

Now I do not stay overnight in Singapore when I travel abroad.

 

It was R.78,00 (note no additional zero) for a return ticket, then. 

By the way, I have never gone to India which I considered a waste of my time. 

I remember, "One Overnight", I stayed in Bombay with a flight cancellation to England.

There were Malaria mosquitoes at the Airport. 

Even today, Malaria is imported from India and very soon we will have Malaria in Ceylon but Chloroquine resistant variety.

I used to go to Singapore almost every other weekend to buy things necessary for "Navaloke Hospital" now rebranded and run by Indians.

I am long way off shoot but add more things about Kandy city later once the "Dalada Exposition" is over.

 

There supposed to be election there to elect a new guy so I should keep my mouth shut until that is over.

Impression is a good USB image writer which downloads and writes the image directly to USB or DVD. 

I have not tried it before.

I am trying to write Manjaro Gnome Image which I got an incomplete image  on Debian Gnome base which boots but does not recognize my partition table.

I would report on my progress here, soon. 

By the way, Reborn OS supports Brave  Browser but I have no space in my little NUC to install it.

But I have it in my my MX Linux.

Image writing is 77% now.

I got it right only on the fourth attempt of installation. In fact, I did it for the fifth time with cosmic and enlightenment desktop on top of genome.

One can use three package system and I installed Gnome synaptic to get my Gnome utilities. Sandboxing consume lot of memory.

My first advice if you try ARCH Linux try BlueStar Linux which is most beautiful KDE Desktop and easy to Install. Endeavour OS is good but it has problem with GRUB.

One should try Reborn OS only after that.

First attempt was disaster and it ruined the GRUB Boot Loader.

Second attempt I let the Reborn OS decide the Installation. It installed but it filled up everything and I could not get even 250MB Abiword installed. 

The third attempt was to read all the instructions and to get AbiWord installed. Still I had problems getting other desktops installed, say Cosmic an Cinnamon installed but failed getting the others in pristine condition.

Now a warning do not try the Blend OS coming from India.  The guys in India should read this. Blending applications from Fedora or Suse would cause disaster unless one goes down to the underlying CODE and fix bugs in Fedora and Suse first. They integrate the partition into one single partition with Btrfs and that is a disaster itself. Mind you,  I have tried all of them installing not on Virtual Machines.

I am an academic guy and I do not want to become a fool myself, teaching things, I do not understand like Haskell, Xmond, Wayfire and even Enlightenment Desktop.

1. Reborn OS is one of the best.

2. It has the latest QT6 toolkit

3. It is backward compatible with QT5. 

The problem is with the application developers who do not bug fix their applications before releasing them to the public.

It is not the job of Reborn OS to check bugs in each and every application. It checks conflicts and integrity and do not install them if they do not passReborn OS Test.

4. It does not spoon-feed but while installing report all the problem that may arise from second to second.

Learn to read them and understand them.

6. Do not listen to these YouTube guys who write ready made installation scripts with lot of bugs and tell you how to do and say “go and have a cup of tea”.

7. Stand by when installation is "going on" and respond to each and every query made by it say either Yes or No or remain neutral.

I remain neutral.

8. Do not browse the Internet looking for help while installing, Read them before installing.          These manuals are there to help not teach. 

9. Do not try to be a GURU, since Linux is fast moving and changing and digesting everything even for a guy who used Linux for 30 years but spoiled  by Debian Gnome background checking of everything without telling you anything specific but doing the deamon and cron jobs assiduously.

10, Thank you,  Reborn OS and all the Linux guys who toil day and night without asking anything in return except a cuppa.

11. Reborn Os is a Rolling Release and one has to use it as the daily driver and reports bugs and keep abreast with the community.

This was one of my favorite distribution.

It went into hibernation ? after Version 8.

I think it is coming from UK.

Light weight and beautiful and has all the components.

After Emmbantus and is cairo dock I did not revisit these two distributions due many reasons.

I am a Gnome addict.

Currently promoting all ARCH derivatves and I have two instances of Reborn OS which is pretty good for newbie.

Lot of Graphic help and has almost all the desktops,

I think Peppermint OS should introduce other Window Managers and Desktops.

IceWM is very popular.

Except Enlightenment and cinnamon all the other desktops are light weight.

I have given their space usage in a different piece here.

Both Suse Linux including Tumbleweed and Current Suse Desktop and Redhat (Fedora by the way) are a pain to Install and get my required desktops and application.

I am going to use Reborn OS natural fallback Linux when I get fed up and bored with Gnome of Debian

If you want to get another type of desktop in Debian one has to burn an iso OS of that type desktop which there are many in their web site or use the First DVD of their DVD collection (not Resource DVD)

It is different with Reborn.

1. Boot the Live iso Imgae of Xfce Desktop.

2. Connect to the Internet either WiFi or Ethernet. 

3. Select the desktop Your Choice.

4. Configure your hard disk.

5. Install

6. Make sure you say Yes or No to the prompt in the terminal.

If you do not respond it assume it as Yes but it waits along time to install if YOU do not respond in the time allowed for you.

7. Now I have Gnome of Reborn and Plasma Desktop.

I do not have to bun a DVD or write the image  on a USB.

It saves time and money.

THANK You Reborn OS. 

8. There are many ARCH based images and each one has its own specification.

Reborn OS is graphic intensive for the user.

Others are mostly text based Installers. 

Yes it is finishing installation before I finish this piece

I forget to say one very important thing.

It configure the GRUB effortlessly.

Mind you Redhat and Suse have different INIT systems and that their problem and not mine.

 Instillation is over I am booting my NUC.

Visitors to this site many wonder why this site on Linux has lot of inputs on Buddhism.

 

There is a sinister attempt to destroy this Nation with Buddhist background by India, America and UK for an ulterior military motive or strategy.

According to Chapa Bandara, ulterior motive is to have two military bases in Sigiriya and Mihintale.

 

Currently the Government of Anura is hard at work with this strategy while initiating "Dalada Exposition" to hoodwink the innocent Buddhists.

 

As an intellectual I can see the the plan well in advance.

 

If I remain silent now the plan would succeed.

 

Ranil, Anura and Cardinal are in the plan and they use the dead bodies of the Easter Bombing to propagate their agenda.

 

Destroy the Buddhist Mind First, saying they have a killer mind.

Take the military conflict with L.TTE. as the base and do not see the atrocities of them as part of the problem and inbuilt and the inherent paranoia.

 

Later destroy Buddhism.

 

This program in well into action.

 

This is called "Millennium Project" spearheaded by Americans. 

 

It is subtle but very deep.

  

Reflection on Rebirth

I do not think I would have to write my life story.

I have over 30,000 pieces here to know who I am.

I am not a journalist but a doctor on full retirement.

I am doing currently things that I could not do as a doctor.

Linux is one of them and it is coming to the penultimate stage with a book on "Linux Essentials".

It is at closing or editing stage. 

 

This rebirth story of mine should not be taken as a narrative but a plausible scenario.

 

I have already written two or three books on "Rebirth' at Amazon books.

 

Rebirth is the essence of Buddhism.

This rebirth is related to me as the evolution of life on earth.

 

I won't make a print edition at all, for the time being. 

 

It is (probable) related to my last two or three births (postulated but there is no real evidence to substantiate).

 

1. I was born in U.K in one of my previous births.

 

Probable reason for this I would give later

 

2. I moved to New Zealand as a naval officer.

 

3. I may have done lot of suffering to Maoris in New Zealand.

4. I had to repay those crimes

Revisiting and helping New Zealanders was part of the game plan in this life. 

But I hated living there without technology which I am currently engaged in ( under Linux base).

Windows 95 was not in existence and NZ did not have good TVs let alone computers.

But lot of American computer science literature.

Did get involved in the master Unix Telnet linking all hospitals and database. I did start Unix Unit in Navaloka before moving to NZ  from 1992 to 1994. 

Resources came from Singapore.

5. I actually did not do the destruction and killing but commanded them from behind, a shy guy with no guts.

 

6. If had done that I would have not born as a human but a devil.

 

7. Having returned to UK, I could not rest.

 

8. I worked myself in my retirement from UK to Ceylon to practice meditation.

My current paltry income is a fore-bearer for moving to Ceylon as a respite.

 

9. I could not master meditation.

Not even today.

 

10. I was in a Vihara or Kovil  in Weuda near Galagedara.

 

11. There was a Temple / Kovil there where I met a Meditation Master.

 

I took it as academic exercise and I failed miserably.

 

12. That created an immense abreaction in me to all Devas and Gurus.

This where we tend to AGREE.

 

13. My dreams are part and parcel of this undercurrent. I have 3 books on my own dreams at Amazon Books.

14. So instead my current life story what matters to me is "my old story" still lingering in me.

I do not call them as subconscious at all.

They are still living with me.

Thankfully, I get them in snippets and not the full and clear story.

 

15. If I write a book on fiction it has no value.

 

16. I want to make it as real as possible. 

 

Rebirth is the only plausible avenue.

I have left out big chunks of information in UK including vising the Birth Place of Charles Dickens.

 

The corollary is if one takes a fictional story as it is or has happened in the past or may happen in the future when one takes the "Entirety of Rebirth Concept" in reality all these stories are real in some sense.

So do not blame on people who love good fictional stories. They are either reliving an old birth story or would be projecting some even in the future.

 

We scientific guys do not see this a plausible but would wait until all the scientific details (in my case postmortems) emerge in every big or small story narrated.

 

In reality we would get to only 60% right and 40% will never be resolved.

 

This is what Professor Victor Tennakoon told me at the beginning and that put me of for sometime but learned to live with it.

My thesis confirmed this reality at the age of 55. 

So doing research at late stage of life is very fruitful.

That is what am doing with "Rebirth Potential'.

It is strange that, I got a Linux Distribution called "Reborn Linux" and I installed it and using it as a daily driver.

Gnome of SuSe Plus Tumbleweed Instsllation

Yes, after a very long lapse I revisited Suse.

 

It's Gnome is pretty good.

Interestinh thing about Gnome is once one has installed it one can instll oall other suppoerted desktop on top of Gnome base.

Enlightenment (450MB) and Cinnamon Mint (takes abuot 1200MB with full install), take lot of space but one can save lot of space  due to sharing on libraries unlike in sandboxed situation

 It took about half and hour to download Inskcape of 850MB application.

 

One has to select the desktop type  it during installation.

 

I used the Tumbleweed Iso.

It took a little time for me to remember it's installation and partitioning strategy.

 

It lets me select my own partition schedule.

 

Strangely it selected the last 5 partitions in my partition table as it's preferred partition selection. 

Of course I had to delete them as requested but I did not.

Finally I selected my own schedule.

It did not interfere with my GRUB but OpenMandriva Lx ruined GRUB, partition table and booting, too.

 

I reverted back to Reborn OS on top of OpenMadriva.

 

I got AbiWord installed to begin with having deleted LibreOffice.

 

Then I did a stupid thing by installing OpenSuse current desktop thinking it would be better.

Installation, package selection and everything about it was strange and was not to my liking. 

However, I got AbiWord installed with some fiddling.

 

I decided to go back to Tumbleweed and intention was playing few games.

I am reinstalling it again and I clicked the dialog boxes this time round to find, if I can add additional desktops having selected Gnome.

I deleted LibreOffice and clicked game folder.

It gives a summary in very tiny letters and I was happy I only use 33% of the boot folder.

I had selected 58,800 of memory and 15,000 packages with an average about 3.3MB for each package.

 

Installation is slowly progressing.

It "Kalena Dhamma Sakachcha" is good but distorting Dhamma is not a good.

This may be my last piece I would do on this subject.

 

As I have said repeatedly, the guys who destroy a language is one who belongs to it and using the very same language.analogy

Current YouTube guys are a very good example. They destroy our language.

 

My judgement and observation is that rule applies to Buddhism,too. 

It is the Buddhists with political intention who is destroying Dhamma.

 

This applies to Indika Totawatta and his associates.

 

I would not talk about the monks who are causing enough damage to Dhamma if not Buddhism.

 

1. Dhamma is not a philosophy.

 

2. Dhamma in my way of thinking is not a religion as it is practiced globally.

Religion is fast becoming a Modern Cult Feature and Buddhism has fallen into this trap.

 

3. Buddhism is a way of life.

To practse it one has practice Sila and one should respect, Buddha, Dhamma and Sanga.

It is OK writing on Dhamma issues but TV Model Discussions in my opinion is destroying it.

What matters is not theory but the practice of Dhamma and trod on that path of emancipation.

It is all about Mind Control without Hate and Gossip.

 

Nobody would achieve any of the Phala or Effects by having a TV show.

 

It is self centered, an individualistic exercise.

Meditation is the simple way, forward not any acdemic exercise.

 

Monks discussing among themselves in the Temple Setup is correct way and is OK.

Well accomplished people (not J.B.D. or JVP type or Debidi Type, while killing fellow citizens for no reason and praying to Buddha-1971 and 1989) should run these Dhamma discussion forums (at least well read if not digested the essence).

 

4. Laymen discussing on Dhamma in their own space (not TV ) or a local club or in a pub over alcohol, I have no problem.

 

5. Then having a healthy discussion on a Poya Day with the monk and laymen in the temple should be the correct way.

 

It should not be like Sajith Premada handing over free handouts as a political Bribe.

 

Let the Capital MahaRaja Organization and TV channels dispense their ill gotten money of CIA through India!

 

TV should not be a substitute for temples and discussion forums.

 

TV for me is an antithesis.

 

Apart from news, sports and films TV has no place for attaining higher goals.

Also TV is no substitute for practice of proper guided meditation.

 

Going to the Buddhist Publication Society in Kandy and contributing to its print cost should be another way.

 

I am against Buddhist Literature and for me Jathaka Katha is actually Buddhist Literature, according to one of my friends who is well versed in Dhamma (I learned the basic concepts from him but I had to dispesne some alcohol afterword for his consumption).

 

Buddha stories if one believes in immense rebirth potentiality cannot be be 550 and it stopped abruptly (the author would have died) but should RUN inbto of Millions of Life (Jataka stories) episodes of Buddha.

Ten Parmitha is also is part of this literature.

One has to try more than millions and millions of time to become a Buddha.

 

PaseBudhu should be analyzed in this context.

 

Those past lives do not matter a little bit to our current predicament (sinister attempt to destroy Buddhist way of life (Avihinsa - JVP is an antithesis to Avihinsa and they carry weapons of mass destruction) and to our future emancipation.

Not a bit in my belief.

 

However, The Birth of Buddha should be celebrated as nothing to compare with.

 

That is Wesak Poya Day.

 

Please shorten the Sansara Track  and do not extend it by TV shows.

 

What about people who do not have a TV but most of them have a radio in their cellphone at least.

We used to have very good radio discussion when I was a kid.

I am glad we did not have TV as kids.

Had we had TVs as a children,  I would have been spoiled a lot and would not have become a doctor and a voracious reader and a writer.

 

It is very difficult to find good books due to TV and Digital Media.

 

Very soon we will have AI Buddha's.

 

That is the way we are heading.

I have more interest in philosophy than religion now.

It is the first order discipline and religion is always second order discipline and always man-made, including Dhamma(no sly intended to Words of Buddha).

 

Philosophy is a natural tendency just like evolution in the biological world.

 

More and more pristine themes of philosophy is the way forward for mankind.

Since I have not achieved any Marga Phala, I wish myself to be remembered as an emerging or budding philosopher who abhor violence including to animals and any form of WAR.

Read Dhmmapada verses every day of the week to remind hate is not and gossip is not the way forward.

 Lies are good for politicians but not for True Buddhists

All these TV channels should be named as Gossip TNL, or Gossip - Sirasa, Gossip-Rupahavini and Gossip  -ITN.

Kumara Chapa Bandara is by his own "Beginning and Tradition" does fall into this category of  Gossip by default.

 

But it is his craft and way of life which he is entitled to.

 

We should not get stuck in the corridors of religion but venture into the wider universe as it is.

 

What I hate is the Word Niragamika which comes from JVP cookbook which I have never read or heard in my life,

Until this guy Anura addressed the opening of the sessions of the parliament.

 

There are two English words  Atheist (do not believe in god) and Agonist (a very confusing English word) which has no proper word for word translation in Sinhala. It is not in Eastern tradition but found in the West.

 

I think when we talk about Dhamma we should use only Pali words and not psedo or new Sinhala adapted words, like Aragalaya and Niragamika.

 

These words I think JVP and NPP brought into our polity.

They are going to stay in politics but should not be in Dhamma traditions.

 

It sickens me when people use inappropriate or bull shit words with no meaning that were picked up from JVP/NPP vocabulary.

It is alright for their grassroot convicts and also for Nirmal Ranjith for his daily discussions, which are becoming boring now.

 

JVP has not got any new theme except violence against the established system.

 

This  system change and Aragalya (illegal word to mean an opposition to the established system which should  in reality be legally prosecuted).

Anything which goes against the established law should be punishable unless the law is modified in accordance with the parliamentary traditions.

It is the beginning of anarchy or destruction of democratic way of governance,

which JVP/NPP has been guilty of violating over 50 years.

 

They are mad hatters in evolution not revolution.

 

Democratic System and other political systems did not come about overnight.

 

They evolved gradually.

 

JVP/NPP is an antithesis to systematic evolution of politics.

 

I do not know why Ceylonese do not question their approach.

Timidity brings on demolition of established system and that is what JVP and NPP wants.

 

We are slowly heading for a dictatorship. 

Just look at Latin America.

  

Do not give them majority in the provincial council election.

 

Defeat their new theme of Niragamika lest we won't be able to change thevsystem drifting into either anarchy, mayhem or one man dictatorship.

 

Be mindful always.

 

Their  hidden agenda is unpredictable.

 

Sorry drifting into politics

 

Dhamma is also dragged into politics by India and the Anura Gang.

 

Indika Totawatta is very unstable and changes his political  thinking at the drop of a hat.

 

What has happened to his independent philosophy?

 

I think monks are using him for their own popularity on TV and Image building.

 

This is the Very  Dander I see and want it to be avoided to save "What is left of the Teaching of Buddha".

 

There is already two traditional themes let them remain as such BUT PLEASE do not add anymore of peudo-themes.

 

Two is confusing enough and three or more TV Schemes is a disaster for Dhamma.

Muditha

Upekka.

Upekka or looking at a problem without political (collective) or individual (private) attachment.

Rember Dhamma is Global and it did not belong to even Buddha himself.
