Why I was not into Ubuntu?

Ubuntu 6.06 L.T.S (DVD) was Released on 1st, June 2006, with end of life on the 14th, July 2009).

I was well into Linux by late 2005.

I was a fan of KDE, then not Gnome.

Mandriva 2005 Power Pack (DVD) was released  on the 13th April 2005 (Linux kernel version 2.6.11)

Kernel version 2 came in 1999 with Mandrake Linux 5.3CD.

There was a hive of activity in France, including Legal Battle for the name Mandrake which became Mandriva.

Knoppix 3.7 (CD) was my beginning (released around 16th, August 2004).

I had a two year head start on Linux and with big books on Linux (Redhat, Suse and Debian).

I was well into the core Linux utilities including partition tool fsck.

In Linux, the utility used for checking and repairing file system consistency is called fsck, which stands for File System Check. It is a low level tool that verifies the integrity of the file system metadata and can attempt to fix errors it finds

Solaris 9 was Released in 14th November 2005 and I had a Solaris CD posted to me from a University in United States of America.

I think I had a brief exposure to Debian 6 in 2011 but I got wired up (not wireless then) with Linux in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic

From that point I never tuned back from Gnome of Debian.

Earlier on, I had a brief encounter with TRUE OS is 2018 when I managed to erase the Microsoft UEFI BIOS Hegemony of my old Laptop purchased in Singapore, using a LIVE True OS CD on.

It still has a Figure of 8 Microsoft Boot Virus  which made me to hate Microsoft Windows for Life. It still working fine and has Endless OS on it.

It was Star Linux of Russia which erased the boot menu to begin with.

Now I am well into ARCH Linux, which include:

Reborn OS

BlueStar Linux

Endeavour OS

Storm OS

Catchy Linux

But MX Linux struck a code and it comes from AntiX.

Debian 13 Trixie is Out

I found this image by accident.
It has everything including Synaptic Package Manager.
I just managed to download Genome Testing image.
It does not have Synaptic Package Manager but SNAPhub.
However, Synaptic Package Manager can be installed using SNAP.

Yes, I installed Debian 13 over my Debian 12.9.0 and it is running smoothly.
I did not format my / home folder.
It has ?8 desktops and I installed 5 of them including, Xfce.
Colour scheme of Plasma is glassy and not classic.
My first test is Wifi which was smooth.
My first test is AbiWord and it seems have more bone and muscle.
LibreOffice is new 25 series.
GIMP and VLC OK.
OBS and Kdenlive running OK.
I do not think I would go back to 12 series.
This is the first time I do not have 2 Debian editions (old and new).

Total files were around 2500 (did not  count) which means this edition has dropped lot of redundant files may be upto 500.
Thank you guys and girls of Debian Developer Team.
I am waiting for individual Gnome and Plasma versions.

Narcissism and Politics

This Syndrome of Narcissism, I did not know exists until well into retirement.
It can be simple.
It can be Complex.

Thankfully, I never met a narcissist guy all my life in my medical career.

I think we have a system to eliminate them in "Our Training".
I do not know whether the system has broken down, at present.

Lack of empathy and grandiosity are the two elements I would expand here out of many other features.

One can see one cannot become a healer if a doctor does possess these features.
The guy or girl assumes that he or she is the focus of attention or importance while possessing these qualities.
We have on in United Kingdom
One in France and one in Germany.

A guy with narcissist gestures is like a bull in a china shop.

He cannot become a diplomat.

1. Most politicians carry this trait.
This they manifest as leadership.
Like foot soldiers they need devout followers who do not question them but follow orders blindly.

2. Military Leaders also have this tendency and some of them end up as failed politicians.

3. Top Bankers have this tendency.
They are the most dangerous and one cannot detect them easily until the venture capital crashes.

5. Lawyers have this tendency.
To become a good justice one has to drop this narcissistic tendency and unfortunately some of them end up as narcissists.

6. Most Tuition Masters carry this trade.
I leave it at that.

7. Police officers have this trait

8. Prison officers have this trait and some of them are the worst.

9. Priests should not have this trait but unfortunately some of them in Ceylon are the worst.

10. Some Drug peddlers have this tendency.
Abuse of drug that affect doctors and nurses equally and is an entirely different kettle of fish.

This Zelensky guy and some of the European Leaders who were abused (enticed than abused) by drugs by Zelensky in a very recent episode while Russians were celebrating their 80th War Memorial, is a case in point.

These three leaders a disgrace to world peace
They are war mongers.

11. I did not know the chief of our laboratory was a narcissist until his son told me.
They can hide their trait cleverly.
My careful analysis later proved the son was right in his assessment.

I managed to catch a group of guys who were pilfering industrial alcohol red handed.
This guy did a dirty thing to save them before I could inform the Registrar of the  Medical Faculty and seal the contents.

I did not ask him, even to type a letter for me.
Instead I learned how to type (two finger method).
Then there was a guy who was stealing microscopic lens.
I caught him red handed and immediately transferred away from our department.
Told the professor in charge and he dictated the letter to this "Chief Guy".

I decided never to join the University while these guys were working there.

I of course, had a set of guys trained by me for my work, when I rejoined well past fifty.
This guy had all the features.
He possessed grandiosity.

On reflection, Yes he had no empathy for the Institution or the Country.
The funny part was on overseas training, he followed the institutional laws to the red letter.
I told him that I am going to write these events and incidents in one of my books (36 guys, good, bad and ugly, I me while working in Ceylon).
It is published at Amazon Books.

If you have to work under guy or girl with narcissism before you get mad or breakdown leave the place at first opportunity.

Narcissism is common

Features of narcissism are manifold.

It is very difficult to detect since many who have this syndrome do not subject themselves to proper examination.

I am not a psychologist but I heard this syndrome from a young guy whose father used to be the chief technician in the pathology laboratory.

I never had any contact with this technician except when he asked me for a research project,

I duly obliged with a simple project.

I did some corrections in his work but I did not listen to his presentation when it was delivered

He needed this for his promotion.

Looking back, he is a typical narcissist but he cleverly hid his traits.

By the way, I did not know about his son but  one day he introduced him to me on the street and mentioned that he needs to do a research project.

I told them that I do not discuss projects on the street but one need to make a proper appointment.

On a subsequent day, with a nice pot of Mesna Tea  I had a brief discussion and told him we would do a combine project and he need not worry.

Project was on Linux!

About narcissists some of the features are;

1. Sense of self importance.

2. Preoccupation with power not leadership.

3. Preoccupation of beauty (both sexes are involved and females are the worst) and external appearance.

This guy dyes his facial hair well past 80.

I worked with one of them (female) in UK and it lasted only 6 months.

I used to do funny things to unsettle her.

One day this huge lady on high heels fell flat on the ground in the ward.

I was behind her and I had hearty laugh!

I have worked with several other nice female consultants before her and I judged her as a neurotic, then  but on reflection now, she fits the category of a typical narcissist.

4. Lack empathy.

5. Arrogant.

6. Impulsive

Unfortunately many of them end up as BAD Managers.

7. Exploitative for their own gain.

8. Try to be around with people who are supposed to be important or special.

9. Want to be celebrated of importance (in a sing song, dance, presentation or a pep talk)

10. Want to be admired for no reason or merits.

There are many other subtle features.

Moment one notices them try to avoid them since they slit you behind your back!

They are basically self centered!

Evaluation of Election Results, The Closing Beat

Evaluation of Election Results, The Closing Beat
I have left out several guys who were instrumental in bringing a significant change in our politics.

This is how Niragamikayo treat Buddhist monk in Prision

There is a Real Danger for Pnanasara Himi in Prison.

As far as I gather this Himi has not been imprisoned under murder charges but he is treated like a serial killer or somebody like Jack the Ripper.
He is being kept with serial killers.
This is how the criminal law is practised in Ceylon.
Whar is the response of our Cardinal?

Chintana Dharmadhsa "Nohoth Padadaya" is working for Ranil "Nohoth CIA Agent".
"Mun Okkhoma Dhesha Drohiyo".
Ali Rajah (LTTE Vestige but currently Active) Subhashwaran financing "Rani" film to belittle our "Ran Wiruwan" or brave soldiers.

Anura has taken the lead bait and he will be demolished on his own accord.
"Anne Modayo Dan Mokada Karranne?"

Anurawa Hakkhe Thiyala Chappa Karala Danawa Mun Tika".

That is the master plan..

Aiyeh Minihagen Ganna Deyak Nathi Hindha Minihava Billy Denna Hadhanne.
.
Anne Pavve Meyahh!

1. Dharshana Hapangoda in his inimitable way introduce guys to the global audience.
He is unique.
When nobody dared he antagonized Rajapaksas.
That was the beginning.
I think he had a tough time under them.

Having said that he gave a fair chance to all political views including that actor guy, Kamal Addharaarachchi.

2. Champika Ranawake
Intelligent and educated guy with the knowledge about Katubeddha student activities. He should study Peradeniya University students' activities like Kumar David.

3. Ravi Kumudesh
Ravi is a new found talent with political brain.
According to Chapa Bandara Ravi was a LTTE operative in the past.
He may be a Tamil guy with good Sinhala education.
He is supposed to be currently financed by Ali Rajah Subhashwaran who is the LTTE Banker (Black Money) in UK.
Ranjan Ramanayake was once financed by him and Ranjan has disappeared from the main stream.
He was used and dumped and he (Ranjan) is a bit of a political idiot.

4. Chapa Bandara
Chapa is a different kettle of fish with  a vast resource pool.
I admire his upright standing with Buddhist Culture.
There is nothing in Ceylon without Buddhist Culture.

We must protect it from Ranil and CIA.

5. Sepala Amarasinghe
Sepala does not have to bring his own views in politics but he has to bring guys slanted with his line of thinking.
Just like Dharshana Hapangoda, basically voice either for or against the government.
Dharshana Hapangoda directly and indirectly helped Anura and the Clan.

This Anura Clan is the sinking ship.
A major disaster impending.

My advice for Champika
He should have a go at the next Presidential Election.
He has only one GO and no more.
He is the only guy who can take NPP/JVP head on.

Wira Wansa cannot due to his long alliance with Rajapaksas.
He (WW) has to emerge from the deep pit he is already in.

"Bauddhaya is his Galaweema" not Karl Marx.

Regarding Champika, the biggest disadvantage is money.

Save whatever, You have but Start filling the till from Well Wishers.

That money should be used for Kandy, Galle and Anuradhapura.

Whatever he has done is enough for Colombo.

1. He should get some help from Chandrika on the ground that he won't antagonize her son. Thar alliance will cover the Attanahalla and Nittambuwa
As it is Chandrika needs some help
That guy Wijedasa is a crook and he has no guts to stand up against NPP/JVP but he trying to scoop what is left of PA.

Maithree guy is a liability to any party he associate with

SLFP is the classic example and there are about 6 Stake Holders to SLFP.

2. He may need Ravi Kumudesh.
Looking at Haruni, Ravi is an excellent political animal.
He can breakdown the NPP/JVP trade unions without much a do.

3. Champika needs Harsha De Silva without upsetting Sajith.
Unity of the opposition is vital with one problem, Namal and the Rump of SLPP.
He should be stopped at 10% and no more.

4. Must not antagonize India.

5. He should have a good alliance with Muslims.
Unlike Tamils they can be trusted.

6. Tamils are a big problem.
They are spread all over. the globe
Their business arm in Ceylon is broken up by the Muslim businesses.
Tamils know only one language.
That is money, especially dollars.

Nobody can find a single old time LTTE guy in Canada.

They are all now not first but second generation Canadian politicians.

This is why Donald Trump is behind the back (Canada) of these illegal guys not only Sheiks but other Terrorist Rumps from various regions of the world.
They slowly slip into America from Canada.

Ali Rajah Subhashwaran is a good example.
Like Emil Saundranayagm of the past he spins black money to white and white to black, with one spin of the wheel.

Tamils are very much divided but have become an International Conglomerate. They do not have a base but a Intricate Network

I am told that they have got India wrapped around their fingers.

Nobody can unite them but money is their global link.
The Kovils and Gold are their lifeline.

Even, in Ceylon Tamils control the gold exchange not Muslims.

My batch mates are a good example how the unity of Tamils are expressed in Global Scale.
They are all over the globe.
Their game is to fight among themselves.

They have petty fights everyday and their weapon is the cellphone, mostly Apple devices.
Some of the petty fights are  related to Caste or Kovils.

The current dilemma is whether to go to Ganges or Kovil in South India.

For Ceylonese Tamils, there is a big difference between an Indian Kovil and a Jaffna Kovil.

A Kovil in Kandy has no significance and Kataragama Kovil has lost all its glory..

My current understanding of a Kovil is a Private Bank.

I have no working idea,  how much of a cut each Deva gets in each Kovil but it is much less than what the Pusari gets, I am told.

One thing is sure.

Tamils are very intelligent and that itself may be a big problem.
They do not like being cheated like the way Anura has done.
They do not mind "do not care attitude" but if you cheat one, that one will remember it for life

They never intend to cheat YOU.

Treat them business like and their bona fide language is money, dollars to be precise.

Coming to Politics and Champika

Probable Breakdown of Vote in the near future.
To begin with NPP/JVP (animal) does not need any intervention, at all.
Naturally, it will destroy itself. It follows the basic animal nature that destroy within.
Just mark my word.

1. SJB    20%
2. NPP   20%
3. SLPP  10%

Tricky 50% Left and JVP got only 42% with lot of money and almost perfect campaign.
My advice;

Champika has to start long before JVP starts crumbling

If Champika waits until the real fractures appear in NPP/JVP other parties will step in before him to gobble.

He has to eat into its base NOW not later.
His YouTube work should be the harbinger.

Anura is in panic mode already and gather those moments to wrestle its superficial structure including media guys and girls.

Do not let the vote base slip and go to SJB or SLPP.
Both of them have to revamp their camps.

No space should be allowed right at this moment.
Better be earlier than late.

Ranil may be having a plan of his own. I guess his window is 2 years.

Sajith failed twice mainly due to Ranil's backstabbing.
Destroy Ranil and let Sajith consolidate.

SLPP revival depends on Wira Wansa and Wiraya
SLPP people need time. They would not come to streets until they are fed up again.

With Unity in the opposition YOU can make it.

I must now tell you how I became anti-Indian.
It developed over 35 years.
It ran parallel with my antipathy towards JVP and now NPP.
Now I am convinced India was involved in undermining Ceylon from 1971-73 to1988/89.
India used DJVP.
I have direct evidence.

In 1971 to 1973 I thought North Korea was involved but my gut feeling is again India through an unknown proxy ignited, the 1971 insurrection.
Indians were involved from Indira Gandhi's time but after blasting off of  PM Rajiv Gandhi, it died down for a little while but it has reemerged with vigour through Modi and Anura.

The pathetic part of this SAGA is JVP carder and their followers did not realize they were being used by Indian operatives.

These Niragamikayo do not see anything wrong when guys and girls in other religions bring cultural elements from foreign countries and plant them here and destroy our own Temple Based Culture.

Temple is an antithesis to them.

Why?

There is a big plot.
India and CIA are on this plot.

Tamils are also hoodwinked.
America and CIA are using a certain section of Tamils in their strategic plan.

In other words cheating "Ordinary Tamils".

There are two important things even Kariyage does not highlight about JVP.

1. Number one is depriving the Youth of their Youth and to stand on their own feet without a "bizarre party" proping them up.

As Champika says it is these timid guys in the first year who are proped up as student leaders and none over time become national leaders.

2. The second is the destruction of public property with callous disregard.

I was practical man was instrumental in getting rid of Sirima, N.M. and Peter Keinaman.

It started when I was an Intern and it matured within 6 years to oust Sirima.

Ist Episode
I was invincible in my work place and I did not behave like a rotten egg, generally speaking, which Labour Union guys are.
I get activated at 9 P.M. when everybody is retiring to bed.

Plot is hatched over night, without breaking the law of the country and patients were very well looked after by a skeleton staff.

This is not agonist the poor patients but the rotten government.

2nd Episode in UK
When I entered UK, 60% of the Doctors were from overseas. The majority were from Ceylon.
We did not have a Union and I closely followed the Labour Union activity in Yorkshire and formed a primitive "Overseas Doctors Association" and got our U.M.T raised within six months.
Then there was a long drawn out action to get 1 in 3 rota.
I never got a 1 in 3 rota for 8 years and by that time I made a firm decision to return home due to many reasons.
British doctors were lazy and never did one in two rota at out time.

3nd Episode
Ousting Mahinda Rajapaksa
Plan was well executed and guys like Dulles Alahapperuma did not know from where we operated.
We even had a skeleton International Staff.
That is when he forgot the country and look after only the family and family members.
I do not mind party members left riding up beating the family.

4th Episode
In New Zealand
I was getting the salary for three and that actually was very reason for my downfall. They could not sack me but reorganized the structure. I stuck to my contract but the one who offered me the job lost his post without compensation.
New Zealand doctors were the laziest and under Labour Law they never worked beyond 40-44 hours but I did over 82 (almost double) on one week.
I threatened to take legal action unless they keep the contract I signed with them.
Only think they could do was not to renew the contract.
Two weeks later I was back in Ceylon and of course, I did not want my wife to lose her job in Ceylon. She had taken only two years unpaid leave and she returned 8 weeks earlier in good time. If one loses a job in Ceylon it is very difficult to regain or recover.
That is the reality.

5. JRJ
I was lucky to be out of this country, for decade when he was in power.
I signed his last blood report and said I am signing a dead man's report and left Navaloka and when I reached Ragama by train, I saw the white flags coming up. I did not pay a visit to him and his final fee fays were supposed to be pathetic.
I was in Ceylon on holiday when his "Kalagedi Selllama" was on display.
Ever since, I hate this mechanism called referendum.
The distortion and ruin he brought to our simple one past the post system cannot be redeemed.

One crime of my life was voting for him once before leaving Ceylon.
It was not a "For Vote" but a " protest vote".
I voluntarily removed my name from the "Voter Register" for over 20 years and renewed it only to get the passport to leave Ceylon for good.

The above is to show I had an active service in Ceylon and Abroad.

Big Picture
Unlike in the West we cannot use statistics to analyze politics in Ceylon.
A 3% shift is enough to make a landslide in the West.

JVP/NPP rise was the biggest aberration to our politics, that is why I call it the "Flash In The Pan" and I did not believe it with sink within 7 months..
Simple logic, lies and promised that cannot be fulfilled.

Lies, damn lies and pseudo-statistics.

If Kumar David would have been alive he would made an accurate analysis. Unfortunately, he is gone and he had ample historical material.

I am no replacement at all.

Historical Base Lines in Ceylon
30% pseudo left
30% pseudo right
40% uncommitted or floating vote.

My Wish
20% real left
20% real right
60% silent masses, that is when the system change is possible.
In other words majority overtakes the politicians of the day.
This was slowly happening in Ceylon but these NPP guys ruined it. Politically, nationality and internationally they are immature and cannot take the mantle.

In other words kindergarten type.
Sorry for me being blunt and that is the reality.

So in another two years (time to sink in the current aberrant reality), we get another chance to revisit or recharge our politics.
Dump the old radical views.

People friendly not party friendly evolution should happen not automatically but by careful education.

Champika Ranawake has a role within the parliament or outside of it.

Ravi Kumudesh has a place in educating the  misguided masses.

Average citizen in my opinion is still stupid but nobody can openly say that which is a political suicide if a politician does it.

Citizen always think he or she is very smart once in 5 years.
That is the tragedy.
End result was a party which has done irreparable damage to our economy coming to power when econmy has hit the rock bottom.

"Dayiwopagatha Karmaya Pala Deema".
"Munta Dharmaya Therrenne Nane".

That is why I say we should have elections every 3 years as in General Management.

1. One year to learn.
2. One year to act on the job.
3. Third year either to quit or plan to reenter or taste the rotten egg.

I can make these valid comments since I am fully retired doc who is not even living in Ceylon.
During my time I did my part withing available resources.

Hope a rising political star is born within the next decade.

I say, Dudley Senanayake Reborn.

Summary
Presidential Election

General Election
68 millions
61%

Provincial Council Elections
2.3 millions less totaling about 2.1 millions
43.6%

One (1%) per cent increase which is statistically not significant.
With a massive campaign they could not muster 3% that Australian Labour party achieved.

Calculation based on 40% of 5.6 millions is roughly 2.2 millions.
There actual base is 3% and rest 37% has come from the "Floating Vote" or usually in Ceylon, it is the "Protest Vote" against the party in power.
The "Protest Vote" has not come, yet.
In fact, this protest vote guys prudently kept away from voting instead of voting for the opposition.

What it means is that are ready to give some limited space for these bone heads but stupid guys a chance.

This is for YouTube guys

"Uddachcha Kamai" "Ola Mottala Kamai Ekatu Unama" "Wenne Mokkada Machan"
"Jangiye Chu Unawane, Ne"

That is my closing beat to JVP/NPP supporters especially these "YouTube Guys".

Unlike Indian voters in Ceylon the voters are less emotional but mature.

They do not want upset the Apple Cart.
My guess-estimate is NPP/JVP will destroy themselves.
We just have to observe them patiently.

Their behaviour or "Thuga Damima" in public especially in the parliament is not going to work but destroy themselves.

Verdict
Talk Only Show
NATO
No Action Talk Only Show

When the next round of election comes it will dip to 20% to 25% not enough to become even a powerful opposition just like SJB.

I am hopefully waiting for the emergence of TRULY Progressive Alliance (not a single party) of politically astute gathering from the SILENT Majority.
Sitting on the bench is not the way but Participatory Democracy is essential.
It is high time that this process becomes a realty since we are heading for the abyss.

Country before the party should be the slogan.

In any case NPP/JVP is just the " Flash on the Frying Pan".

Sorry for me being pessimistic.
I saw this in broad day light.

How Mahinda Rajapaksa squandered the golden opportunity by being self centered and working for his family and the goons.

I have long term experience with these guys from 1971 to 1989.
I have always against their arrogant, impulsive and destructive politics. They lack the natural and intuitive politics which is the need of the moment.

Me leaving the country (like many others) having done my part without "pomp and pagan" in my twilight years is the living testimony to how puerile our politics have been.

But my hats off to guys like Harsha De Silva who sacrifice his talent to politics in spite of so many odds.
He sticking in the opposition itself needs lot of grit.
I think Sajith should had over the baton to him and organize the party from grass root level not allowing the "Sutra Pincha" to eat into his base.
Ranil is another guy who is a political pest (should be in the political dustbin in India) who should be violently evicted from our body politics.
He is a Greedy Guy and Lacks Vision.
This one must say to his face to destroy him politically not physically.
I abhor physical violence which  was "his trade mark" and known to be utilized at Batalanda.

DO NOT HAVE any dealing with him.
He is using Anura to undermine Sajith.

If Sajith take a side step and take a welcome break and let others take the the baton ousting Anura is a "cake walk" in due course.

Break their back in two years.

Waiting for five years is STUPID.
I was one who stood up against JVP/DJVP when it was the necessity in 1971 and 1989.

These guys would ruin our economy and that is what Indians are wishing and waiting for.

Every minute in politics matters.

SLPP is waiting in the Wing and their Think Tanks are on overdrive and hard at work.

Do not give them a fighting chance to be second but let them be in third place which is realistic.

About Ranil;
"Panuwek Wage Ahaka Danna Oene Minihek"

I hope Harsh De Silva will not fall into his Traps and "his ill  gotten money".

Not money but "Wisdom and Vision" is the need of the day

He is even worse than to S.B.D. in political back stabbing.

"Devio Sakki" is politically invigorating and inspiring to the carder.
Do not revisit the phrase but find new themes.

"Palu Gedara Walan  Bidinno = JVP Eka".

What it means is only seeing others faults but not something in one's own eye.

We have enough phrases in our vocabulary which I have forgotten in old age.

Equally I despise guys like Wijedasa Rajapaksa who were wheeler dealers and S.B.Dissanayake the "back standing guy".

Very soon, Dilip Jayaweera and Dammka Perera will add to the failing list.

I have already shown that NPP/ JVP is the only party in power who started losing its popularity within six months mainly due to the credible gap between it's promises and its performance capacity.

Furthermore, it has lost its base vote value to around 40% from 44% in the local elections, a 4% drop which is politically significant.

SJB had kept it's voter base at around 25%.

SLPP is maintaining it's base of 7.5% a drop of 2.5% from its 10% base.

However, is PA/SLFP is just ahead of UNP and keeping at 5% level.
It did not contest last time round and I am unable to see any of its trends except Attanagalla and Gamphaha which is losing its grip to J.V.P
JVP gulped part of its voter base and unless it opposes this trend of JVP it will become and extinct political species

Then the SB which came in with a view of establishing as a new and modern parry, in spite of throwing money at will it could not keep it's 10% presidential election total, simply because it is not presenting an alternative policy that can revive this country.
It is more of the same  JRJ "consumerism politics" or "open economy" without a workable program, nonetheless a theory ad nauseam
It looks like it is eating into UNP base of 5%.
The biggest loser is UNP which is now hovering around 2.5% well below SLPP.

I wish to propose these two elements (Ranil/Dilip) including Dhammika Perera who financed politics from KUNU Deals from UK (hospital refuse from the West imported to Ceylon and India)

The bottom line is rhetoric of NPP/JVP is fast losing  credibility in the political sphere and their ability govern and pull the country together.
They are good at counter arguments but not governing the country as a sovereign state.
In other words timidity towards India and trying to reach far away country like Vietnam.
No brainier from the start.
Hiring a plane from Vietnem from its resources abroad is the culmination of their "bone or pigheadedness" whatever their explanation in defense.

If Sajith did such a thing these YouTube guys would have field day.

However, they are able to keep near 50% popularity in villages and suburbs that is why their nickname "Game Ranil" in "Jangi Aragalaya".

In my analysis NPP is just "Flash in the Pan" political movement which will settle down at somewhere around 25% level just like SJB in the long run which is a significant improvement from 3% carder level politics (which is 2% outside the statistically significant 5% outliers).

In any case, their recent shift from rhetoric and carder level politics to populism of the far right will not be good for their own survival but would be the gradual deterioration into "we also ran or we also governed in Ceylon" .

That would be the recorded in that way in political history.
I am trying to be "Kumar David" a veteran Marxist Political Analyst.

He passed away, recently in California just like Nalin De Silva in America (?where I do not know).

In their own analysis and expressions they raised the bar high enough even their carder itself cannot rise up to when the occasion demands.

That is the reality of local or grass root level politics.

Their exuberance (Thota Langa and Maligawa Episodes) and artificial self confidence that they can solve any problem in Ceylon are to their own ruin.

I am happy people have quickly understood their own predicament and how politics works and they will automatically lower their expectations and get on with their normal day to day life.

The System Change is eluding them by design.
It is a sad predicament.

Without money in the coffers and no way to improve productivity we will gradually fall into the abyss.

I would quit politics, right now but my Anti-Indian stance will be the end point, discussed below.

In the final analysis, JVP's bone headedness and having to learn while on the driving wheel would be a disaster for the entire country.

I think they never expected this type of victory and thankfully the general public has realized their premature aspirations would evaporate into thin air and have stamped a reasonable brake on their military type of administration.

If they realize that running a state is different from running a party that would be the beginning.

It does not look like they are ready learn and unfortunately that is their style and common sense does not prevail in their machinery.

I hope I am proven wrong.

It was a big distraction to my academic work and Linux promotion to 10% of the PC User Base.
Yes, I am fast approaching that target.

Reborn OS or Reborn ARCH Linux is my current interest.

In India Linux less than 3% simply because Indian cannot make money on Linux with "War on Muslims" looking eminent.

Only British United India and it will fracture again in no time.

Now why I am anti-Indian?

It is very simple with a few examples on medical grounds.

1. Never use Indian drugs for my patients when I was practising in Colombo, Negambo and Kandy.
40% drugs are dud by the time they leave India.
a recent death of a guy due to faulty Indian vaccine.
There is NO Quality Protocol in India.
Mass production is their strategy,

2. We cleared this country from malaria in 1968.
We still import Malaria from India (frequent travelers)

3. I did some work for Navaloka Hospital in "National Quality Management" before the turn of the century. The won the award.
Few years later I went there for  some basic investigations (VISA purposes). The unit I improved was handed over to an Indian Company (to save money on utilities) and it has now gone back to Indian level.
I went to another hospital for my tests.

4. The last one in revolting.
In Kandy, Kheels Supermarket (now managed by Indians) there is a Top Level special Chain of restaurants.
I go there for a our own Cinnamon Tea.
While waiting for the Tea to be made (it is an elaborate process) I ordered an fruit plate from the Indian Stall.
I examined all the fruits specially the Indian Apples.
There was a big maggot in the Apple.
I returned the fruit plate and I did not go there for nearly six months.
When I did go there again I used to take delicacies  from only the Italian Unit, that also only Pizza.

We had a big Guava tree and in our garden.
All its fruits have maggots and I never tested any and left them for the squirrels that frequent out garden.
They make drey in out roof.
I went back home for three months to sort few things including Water, Telephone and Electricity bills and one day the domestic aid came and plucked few of the Guava fruits.
I warned her but she had a bite and there was a maggot. I told her cut it before eating and remove the maggot before.
I think these maggots have come from India and they are destroying our agriculture.
Now anything Indian is foreign to me even in Australia but I love there Wades.

Pacha Hunters one Month Old

Pacha Hunters YouTube Episode is one month old.
It commenced on April First.
It has gone beyond 40 episodes, thanks to NPP/JVP government.
They started from subtle lies to damn lies to International lies.
This is the first time we have instituted a government by pachayanb and government for pachories.

Ceylonese love pacha.

Long live patha episodes.

Blend OS a Big Failure

Blend OS a Big Failure

Yes, Blend OS is a big failure.

It looks like it is a one man show and not a collaborative project.

I am a guy who has used Linux over 30 years and still critical of Linux.

If I take for example Ubuntu is trying to reinvent the wheel with Rust.

Whereas, Linux Light tries to keep the Ubuntu base active but lacks loot of modern utilities.

In that spectrum Blend OS comes nowhere.

I discarded  Redhat long ago and Suse a few years later.

Reason being their corporate mentality and using the community as a sucker base. Redhat is still loitering at 9.5 or so and that is the end result. What annoys me is their redundant file systems.

I am slowly moving to ARCH base where only one application for one purpose and rolling release to accommodate new technology.

Linus is moving tremendously fast and I cannot keep pace.

If one wants a robust distribution I think one should try Reborn OS.

If you wants a  beautiful distribution try Endeavor OS or BlueStar Linux.

But the distribution that moving very fast is Manjaro in spite of a bit of controversy among the core staff.

I have settled down with Debian Gnome, Reborn OS, BlueStar and not to forget MX Linux which is an excellent distribution.

In this scenario I tested to see how Bled OS does.

It does not do anything it claims but the guy who try to use it has to do the own donkey work.

First thing I look at is the software depot and it directs me to GitHub.

That finishes my encounter with Blend OS.

I had bit of an antipathy towards IDEAL which is based on Manjaro.

I am going to try it now.

What if one loses a Pendrive or a U.S.B Hard Disk?

 Friday, April 29, 2011

What if one loses a Pendrive or a U.S.B Hard Disk?

Nothing much you can do about it if you are a Microsoft user.

If you are paranoid and buy some expensive stuff with password protection and or use encryption before saving, you can say, alright I lost it but there is no use for the petty thief.

In a world where everybody is getting very selfish and living in self contained compartments, if you accidentally lose one, the one who finds the gadget may not go all out to find the owner.

Best way to protect your data is to not to carry in a portable medium.

Cloud Linux and saving in a cloud is a good option and that is why I used to support it very enthusiastically but even there, there are some major problems when a hacker attacks a servers or a server farm.

So there is no full proof method to save data.

Other option is to be somebody like me who make life principles very simple and have very little substance to hide or boast about except my Linux Images stored all over the place.

If I lose them no problem the Linux tracker will have almost all my Images except the very old ones and it is a matter of sitting down and painfully downloading them again on a portal which is painfully slow in the 3rd world.

When I come to think about it it is time for people with common interests to get together and to
Form Citizens Bureaus and possess servers of their own and maintain them on a voluntary basis with trust as the bond and the friendship as the driving force.

This is a wishful thinking of the futuristic world, "I am dreaming of" but I may not live long enough to see that eventuality.

It is in fact,  a force in need.

Everybody getting paranoid and everybody has something to hide or use the knowledge he or she possesses for capital gain in this present world of greed and profit

But no common decency.

WiKiLeaks was something that had to emerge and I only saw the good side of WiKiLeaks.

We saw the panic side of it.

Bad Americans diplomacy and duplicity.

We see a similar round of duplicity when BunKi Moon decides to make his own world of wisdom, just to make sure his job is secure for another two years but throw the U.N.O. credentials and caution to the wind.

Transparency is only a word but not a practice proclaimed at high level.

We cannot expect it to get better or established at grass root level.

In this this context looking after ones data is one's own prerogative.

If for common decency if one wants to save your family photos and a paltry sum of money from a hacker at large, I have a solution for you.

Go Linux.

You can have a Linux distribution in a
Pendrive or in your USB hard disk with boot time protection with password.

One can save one's common decency.

I have not tested this as a possible scenario in my live CD/DVD encounter and in future this is something I am going to promote or test as a virtue of Linux.

So I expect the Linux developers to think seriously about it including UNetBooIn.

Even Knoppix has now introduced root password facility not as a default but one can enforce it after installing it in a hard disk.

That is a good thing that is emerging for simple guys like us who sometime has to make political statement of some sort in a country where democracy is owned by a single party.

One race or one religion or one government is enforcing scrutiny on dissenters.

If these political guys or police get hold of a tiny statement in a Pendrive or a hard disk as evidence, is it violation of privacy or arbitrary use of force?

If the prosecution produce the data in a court of law there is no defense.

This is where even Polippix and Incognito have a place when police states emerge in the pretext of law and order and disciplined society where simple justice and common sense and decency may disappear forever.

I think Linux Developers should give us the utilities to protect common decency
.

That is the political will to change the bad practices of all kinds.

Water Logic

Water Logic

Most of the information fed into this book is based on observations, some casual and some smart but simple scientific observations, which I have made over the past 20 years. If I did not make my observations for this year (2011) with almost drought in some parts of the country and equally bad floods and typhoons effecting the South of the country, this book would end up with unresolved conflict of interests and erros on basic scientific tenets.

My observations
The observations are as good as gold and they are a good base for my water logic to end this book.
One must take one important factor into consideration.

Coal Power
This is the year with full commission of the Coal Power.
Most of my predictions in the past predictions were made on scientific grounds and have come true.
For Coal Power my guess was I need at least another five years of observation for it to be of scientific in nature, value added and substantive.
My gut feeling says with one observations I have now, I need not wait for another 5 years, a long period in human terms to make feasible predictions and appropriate correction, if there are any.
This year's observations are good enough to base physical and biological predictions.

One observation was of paramount importance.
This time the Indian Oriole did not go back.
I believe, I spotted a young one probably born here, Indian Oriole to be precise, well before the approaching winter, in Northern India.
That simple observation is enough for me to base my predictions.

I am entitled to make prediction based on this observation without waiting for another five years.
Why the Indian Oriole did not go back?
It is no secret they move out in winter to escape bad weather as well as food scarcity.

But they invariably return to their base for breeding.
But not this time round.

Why?
1. The warm air currents heralding the Summer did not arrive from the North.
2. Warm air current remained almost constant throughout the year in Kandy and suburbs.
3. Birds were confused (at least one pair) to make a move.
4. Birds made a decision to base their breeding here.
An interesting evolutionary fact.
5. That is the beginning of a new niche.
Becoming endemic here and make an evolution, trend.

Why?
It was our  COAL POWER BOOM.
We were generating coal power (both oil and coal) electricity to make the short fall of rain and the lack of capacity of the water reservoirs.

We did not generate power based on a scientific plan.

24 hour generation of coal power and the the resultant failure of normal movement of upper air currents had an adverse effect this year.

The failure of normal movement of warm air currents that determined bird migration did not happen this time round due to constant warm air produced by Coal Power Plants.

The bird migrate towards the warm air atmosphere.
Our hills are not tall enough to cool the warm air generated by the 24 hour Coal Power generation.

They remained almost stagnant not circulating except upward movement and there was no lateral movement and air currents.
There was no need for them to migrate back with constant warm air in the atmosphere. They remained here and some of them even bred here, I believe.
That is of course the good news.

Now to the bad news.
This time inter-monsoonal rain did not come in its regular 10 to 14 day cycles.
I think, they do not come in that pattern for number of years due to global warming.
They humidity of air remained high.
When the rain came it was unusually heavy.
There were flash floods.
This is very easy to explain.
With warm air, the volume of water vapor remaining in air to form clouds increased appropriately.
The delay or really the prolongation of short spells (10-14 day cycles in the past) to almost six (6) weeks, the interval between inter-monsoonal rain increased the amount or the volume of water vapor in the atmosphere to form clouds.
When the rain did come in about  6 to 8 weeks cycles they were unusually heavy.
All the necessary conditions were there for flash floods.
It did not rain.

It poured.

Now what is the contribution of coal power?
It hindered the natural cooling of air currents over our comparatively shorter hill (they are not Himalyas) side.
It is only about 6000 to 8000 feet ascent.

What was the end result?
The rain clouds bypassed Ceylon and landed on Indian subcontinent unleashing flash floods with never known rain in some part of India.
This is another time we collaborated with India.
They should congratulate our energy planners for introducing Coal Power for the windfall of water to India.
Only other time we collaborated was at the last Cricket World Cup.
With the help of politicians meddling with cricket we helped India to win.
We were generous.

Why?
It is far better to make almost 1.5 billion Indians happy instead of 20 million here.
That is our Buddhist benevolence.
Instead of worshiping the millions of gods they believe in, the Indians should turn towards Ceylon and make Namaskaras to our politicians and the energy planners who advice them for the windfall of the rains they got.

If we did not generate coal power we would have had the normal inter-monsoonal rains in shorter spells (humidity and saturation were enough to form rain clouds) of time and the rain would have landed here instead of in India.
One must not forget that Ceylon is a small island only of 140 miles across and at high speed of wind currents in upper atmosphere even big rain clouds can pass across in half an hour and reach mainland of India in 4 hours to precipitate as rain.
We are even generous to donate our rain clouds to poor Indian farmers.
So make sure the excess grains you produce sell back to Ceylon and make a profit in times of our needs.

The end results of coal power are many,
1. Increase the the rate of global warming.
2. Pollute our air we breath.
3. Interrupt our inter-monsoonal rain.
4. Donate rain clouds to Indian farmers.
5. Get the grain from India in return to feed our masses.
6. Divert Indian migrating Oriole to Ceylon and make them breed here.
7. Develop a pattern of species extinction by interfering with upper air currents and to make them breed here so that the brood will not have enough grain to feed themselves.

Only sure recipe I know of,  for cooling our atmosphere is the rain that comes during inter-monsoonal spells and it cools the air while taking away the soot and all the poisons in the air with it.
All these information mentioned above are copyrighted and if any scientist use them, at least have the curtsy's to acknowledge them as coming from simple observations of a doctor almost in retirement.

Solutions to overcome the lack of rain.
If I do not give solutions to the above problems our farmers may become angry with me.
I may labelled as a guy who misinform.

Good for an ornamental coffin sooner than later.

I will give the simplest to the more complex if the energy planners have the wisdom to institute them as a remedy.
They will prevent some of the maladies.
But global warming is a global issue.
We have to wait till year 2020 when America is ready to accept it as its own liability and culpability.

Simple Solutions
1. Give up the 100% electricity dream.
2. Give up Coal power.
3. Revisit the wisdom of our old kings, water was the only asset we had and only asset we are going to have.
All the above can be achieved or disposed of without two third majority in the parliament.

More Complex Solutions
1. Institute an ongoing study of how the air currents above our head in Ceylon behave.
2. Determine the factors that influence the air currents.
3. Till them generate Coal Power only during day time starting at 10 AM and stop producing it at  4 PM. when our shops close.
4. Use Hydroelectric power generation in the night.
The items 2 and 3 will simulate Natural Cooling Cycle (N.C.C) and minimize the effect of thermal power on natural cooling at night.
It will not bring 10 to 14 day cycles of yesteryear but at least minimize flash floods and heavy precipitation.
5. Come to a policy of 70% electricity sufficiency and declare zones of no electricity at all (not even gas/oil generated) covering at least 30% of the country's designated rain forest.
7. Energy Tax or Global Warming TAX (GWT-Gonnu-WannanTa AthaDheemaX) for every mile on gas/oil and not for electric cars.
8. The most ambitious project is to make Piduruthala-Gala tallest mountain range in Asia, even taller than the Himalaya by declaring a project to make it taller in 6 years.
This is my miracle dream.
It can be done by putting all the rubbish advertisement that are intended for the next round of elections.
The papers should be pasted over Piduruthla-Gala (ROCK) commencing this Christmas, 2011.
When the end of the world come true in 2012 or after we can climb up and watch it up to the heaven from there.
Everyone who voted for this two third majority government except Tamils (they should continue to go to Kataragama as usual) should make a pilgrimage to Piduruthala-Gala and paste the paper over it with a water resistant paste.
By the time of the next elections come,  it will be taller than the Himalaya and we will trap all the rain clouds.

We will be back to square one once again.
