Sinhalaya Killing Sinhala Language

Let me start with Indika Thotawatta.

That is the guy I love to listen to, even though I do not agree with his astrological predictions.
He is one who loves mother Lanka and the Sinhalan Language.

Hats off to him for his honorable approach.

I am very bad in my Sinhala and I always pick one or two Sinhala Gems from him.

Chapa Bandara can handle the Sinhala language in a respectable way. I do not know his political ambitions but I wish him well.

My current attempt is to promote Dhamma not Buddhism.
I use English for that purpose and not raw Sinhala.
Sinhala sometimes tend to devalue Pali of it's substantial meanings.

This is what that Kiribathgoda Goiya is trying to do.
DO NOT listen to him.
He is an antithesis to Dhamma.

One I love to hate is Chamuditha.

Plane and simple his aggressive behaviour is unbecoming.
I used to switch off whenever he is on TV in any program.
I am away from our land and I am currently not subjected to his vituperations.
I have no problem of switching him off.
He is a politically ambitions guy.
He should not be in parliament by any imagination.

This Sepala Guy is a simple "Potha Gura" and had no substance behing him.
A pretentious guy by all measures.
His objective is to destroy Dhamma.
He can never achieve that.

He will be in Hell, no sooner he leaves his present human domain.
He has no recuperation at all.
I leave it at that.

I have no problem he is becoming a slimy political animal.

What I really hate is, his transliteration. This is a term, I helped in coining when trying to translate Medical Terms to Sinhala. I used to tell my professor who had no knowledge of Sinhala, it is far better to use the original English term and get the students to learn terminology rather than the language.

Guys come to University not knowing how to define the term definition.

I was later recruited simply (putative Sinhala ability) because of me helping the Professor of Biochemistry (I was pretty good in Biochemistry) to translate Multiple Choice Questions as a Medical Student as a Senior Student (4th year).

Getting into even Seconded Post was extremely difficult those days.
I cut my teeth, then and there and never looked back.

Over time, I improved my English and now I start to forget lot of Sinhala Words in Common use, especially food items.

I said Halapath to Halapa.
I was teased appropriately and my current ploy is to keep my mouth shut.

Main Objective
This piece is about the YouTube guys who abuse Sinhala, especially guys who use foul language.

One must not subscribe to them and they would peter out, naturally.

First of all the guys who destroyed Sinhala language were J.V.P. guys.

Just look at some of their wall paper posts in 1970 and 1988/89.

Marapiya
Kotapiya
Nathi Banga Karapiya
Nathi Banga Wewa

These NPP guys talking lush and posh language NOW, is simply to whitewash and fool the masses.
That was their political motive which they successfully achieved.

I hate the guys who use Umba and Umbalata for Oba or Obata.
It is nauseating to me coming from a Catholic school where we were not allowed to use them.
We had a very good Sinhala Teacher named Mr.Wickramadinghe.
He taught us from Kumarodaya and his teaching of grammar was excellent.
No hanky panky.
Precise.
He was with us for only 3 months.
When he came in he wore a National Dress. After three months of learning English he switched to  a trouser.
That had a lasting impact on me and I concentrated on English.
By the age of 16 my English was very much refined.
Never a Single vulgar term in my school life.
The other guys used them but they were automatically shunned.
It is opposite now. Vulgar vernacular is promoted as opposed to Sweet Words.

We used I, you and we.
Mr. Mrs and Madam for younger females.

This Athi Garu, Vishishta and Uthumanani came with Rajapaksa Regime.

I used to say Mr.Rajapaksa, Mr.Wicramasighe and Mrs. Chandrika.
Please leave it at that.

None of them were great or National Heroes.

Quite the opposite but shameful characters.
