Backward Compatibility of Debian Linux on Old Computers

Let me start with an important consideration with power cuts on daily basis in Ceylon the not so paradise country.

Go and buy a UPS before they go up in price.

We were like current Ukraine 38 years ago.
We had power cuts but we never went hungry.
I was looking at a plastic display stand with multiple tops.
The upright poles had lot of candle burns.
I have used it as a candle stand with it glass tops.
The glass tops are still there wrapped up in paper covers.
Thankfully out children were not born then.

It was hegemonic India behind a small country not as big like Ukraine.
India instigated minority Tamils.

In Ukraine it is minority Russians with mighty Russian behind them.
Outcome is obvious.

We did not have anybody supporting but I remember Ukrainians helping with old Russian aircrafts to supplement our aging Air Ceylon with only two second world war Arvos from Britain.

We were bombing our brotheren gone astray instigated by RAW of Indira.
Being a doctor I never support war anywhere in this world.
I was born after Korean War and I could never understand the American hero warship of their conscripts in Korea and their weekly War Soap Opera.

It is amazing how we prevailed and 50% of the Tamils moved to Sinhala dominant areas.
Thank you to those who mixed with us.
I love their dosai, masala wadei and parippu.
We only contribiuted with Pol Sambol.

Coming to Debian I mounted Debian Lenny (4 install CDs) and half way through resizing the 10GB hard disk light or power went off.

If I boot Debian, my guess is I can mount a second hard disk with 40GB capacity.

I could not install Debian Lenny and I have up after 3 attempts.

However Debian on non graphic mode (to save VG memory) did partition the disk to 10 partitions and another SWAP partition.
I am going to mount Puppy Linux Wolfe persistent on one of those partitions.
I would let you know whether that is successful.
I have successfully installed Wolfe on sda6.
It has Ubuntu in sda3 and a GRUB in master boot record.
I do not know how to boot to sda6 when it boots.
Sfs file is name after my Christian name.
I booted Puppy from a CD and Ubuntu is not configuring the internet but Puppy Linux would.
I have a safety precaution since I will always boot from the CD and not from the master boot record.

I am booting it now and it says next booting would be faster.

This is the second time Puppy saved me.
I won't discard the computer to the junk yard for metal now.
Small is beautiful and it uses 512MB space, even though I could have given more space.
This PC has old mult-ipin jacks.
However I have mounted a USB connecter on a PCI slot.

It has detected SWAP partitions 5 and 8.
I am recording it here less I erase them in another boot up procedure.
Everything is OK and my Puppy is wagging its tail.

Guys now talking about terra byte is an antithesis to me.

I booted Puppy Linux with 512MB USB and Puppy Linux really rocks without tech HiFi.
