Puppy Linux Derivatives Tested on Gnome BOX Utility

Puppy Linux Derivatives Tested on Gnome BOX Utility

I have tested all the Puppy Linux derivatives I have from series 4 to 8. In that process I learned may things including configuring the computer peripherals including PS to WiFi keyboards and monitors.

All of them had Abiword included and with option install LibreOffice or older versions. Only Puppy Linux that did not support Abiword was FatPup. which,  I deleted from my collection. All the images were less than 700GB which was the limit for a CD.

What it means one can test what is available in Ubuntu and Debian Linux and what WindowMnager each distribution uses.

Puppy Linux uses light weight JWM Window Manager.

They were;

1. Turbopup extreme

2. Top-unlimited

3. Xenia Pup

4. Fossa Pup

5. Bionic Pup

6. Tahr Pup

7. Light House Pup

8. Tiny Paw

9. Quirky

10.  Puppy Studio

11. Puppex-focal

12. Puppy Linux 430 which was 32 bits

13. GamePup

14.F96CE_XFCE is the Ubuntu derivative of PUP

15. DebLive-bookworm is the Debian derivative of Puppy Linux

16. Beaver

17. Bookworm Pup

18. Lupu

19. There is a Devan derivative of Puppy Linux, too.

20. FatPup

21. MacPup

22. Live_gnome.

Sorry is not a Puppy Linux derivative but the very old Brazilian Linux distribution or Connectiva Linux.

That was the beginning of Linux with Xandros Linux which started the ball rolling.

XandrOS had a beautiful Linux desktop effects which lured me to Linux, I believe now.

It was much better at that of Windows at that time.

I think I ran it on Windows 95 or 98.

What a long journey?
