This is something I have to revisit. When I realized each Desktop has its own File Manager, I decided to stick with Gnome and Nautilus.
For some unknown reason I hated Thunar. To begin with its icon was ugly.
I cannot click it daily.
Folder is a Drawer in a File Cabinet.
GNOME icon exactly represent that fact.
Try to be sensible when representing an icon which even a kid can relate.
Xfce
Thunar file manager
I moved away from Xfce but I started with Xfce on Emmabantus.
Emmabantus was the only distribution that supported AbiWord my favourite.
Debian and Redhat did not.
Even Russian ROSA Linux does not suoport AbiWord.
