King George the VI

Died December 21th 1952 at the age of 56. I was 3 years old and I saw Queen Elizebath II when she visited Ceylon in 1952 after her coronation. She was returning after visiting Sir John Kotalawala at his residence Walawwa in Kurunegala.
He was the MP for Kurunegala and Dodangaslanda. He owned graphite mines in Dodangaslanda. His main residence was in Kandawala Walawwa in Ratmalana. He was born in Puliyandala. I used to visit his residence in Kurunegala as a kid under 5 years. He used to pick me from my legs and hold my head down. I did help my monk relative to establish a temple in Colombo while I was working at Colombo General Hospital during Senior Premadasa time. His private secretary Gamage who was working in the hospital was the main link pin. He was a very good public servant. I never saw Mr. Premadasa face to face fearing he would recruite me for his political activities.
B. P. C. or Buddhist Publication Society, in Lake Round, was a place I frequented often looking for particular Bhodhi Leaves which I used to read to digest Dhamma in depth. It is located where Dr. Dharmasena, prominant General Practitioner had his dispensary, there.I was taken there for consultations as a kid. He donated his dispensary to the B. P. C.
