My old Laptop look Good as Brand New after I installed Debian Forky. It took only 1917 files with 2 cellphone applications.
One need only Net Install DVD1 on a USB stick which is less than 1GB.
Fast WiFi is mandatory.
Basic Gnome install with Cellphone utilities tskes 7.5GB out of my 16.3GB /root partition.
My frequently used application took 7.6GB. AbiWord takes 311MB, a gismt leap from command line utility that used only 8MB during, 32 bit Era.
The next most important is the File Manager is Dolphin takes 200MB which I used from my early start with old KDE Desktop which has become unmanageably BULKY which now I HATE. It is worse than CINNAMON Desktop which haslovely Nemo File Manager.
This commercial dedktop with godly name is Beautiful but not functional as GNOME.
There a lot Big Linux and XivaStudio has to learn from Debian and GNOME Desktop.
I have 9.6GB left on which I cannot install Blender which is not available in Forky but if you have been using Blender in Trixie the data can be accessed. I have no Blender files which I left in CEYLON.
GNOME takes about 1.5GB out of 7.4GB RAM available but with Cellphone utilities in use it only jumps upto 3.6GB which is only roughly 50%.
I think KDE uses are a STUPID lot like Microsoft cronies.
I have Falcon, Epiphany and Dillo and I am going to install FireFox my favourite now. The English UK edition is only 273 which is less than my favourite AbiWord.
I have Trixie Installed for comparison.
Only missing application is Blender.
By the way, I could not install XivaStudio and Big Linux guys blocked it.
Why I do not know.
Their drivers must be faulty.
Big Linux installed without a problem but Synaptic Package Manager is not supported.
They have their own Application Store which I did not bother to investigate.
All these over before Poson Poya.
I am going to try XivaStudio on my NUC now.
By the way Big Linux is logger head with Debian GNOME. GRUB Boot Loader is incompatible.
Finally, I got XivaStudio INSTALLED om my Old Laptop. I figured out that the problem was related to 4GB RAM was not enough for XivaStudio but OK for Big Linux. It consumes s lot of RAM in its live Session, it could not mount the INSTALLER.
The moment I figured it out I closed all those bulky graphics instructions and installed it.
I tried it on a 15GB partition in my NUC and it failed even to mount its Desktop.
I ditched it to install DEBIAN prioritized to cellphone utilities. Cellphone utilities cannot boot up without a nominal Linux Desktop. What annoyed me with XivaStudio was even at base level, I could not have private home partition which is fundamental to Linux USER Experience
Big Linux and XivaStudio are bulky and that is why I prefer Debian Network Install and what I need I INSTALLE after the basis INSTALL.
This is a good distribution for Newbies because of its intensive graphics usage but make sure you have at least, 16GB of RAM and 100GB Disk Space.
