Ubuntu 6.06 L.T.S (DVD) was Released on 1st, June 2006, with end of life on the 14th, July 2009).
I was well into Linux by late 2005.
I was a fan of KDE, then not Gnome.
Mandriva 2005 Power Pack (DVD) was released on the 13th April 2005 (Linux kernel version 2.6.11)
Kernel version 2 came in 1999 with Mandrake Linux 5.3CD.
There was a hive of activity in France, including Legal Battle for the name Mandrake which became Mandriva.
Knoppix 3.7 (CD) was my beginning (released around 16th, August 2004).
I had a two year head start on Linux and with big books on Linux (Redhat, Suse and Debian).
I was well into the core Linux utilities including partition tool fsck.
In Linux, the utility used for checking and repairing file system consistency is called fsck, which stands for File System Check. It is a low level tool that verifies the integrity of the file system metadata and can attempt to fix errors it finds
Solaris 9 was Released in 14th November 2005 and I had a Solaris CD posted to me from a University in United States of America.
I think I had a brief exposure to Debian 6 in 2011 but I got wired up (not wireless then) with Linux in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.
From that point I never tuned back from Gnome of Debian.
Earlier on, I had a brief encounter with TRUE OS is 2018 when I managed to erase the Microsoft UEFI BIOS Hegemony of my old Laptop purchased in Singapore, using a LIVE True OS CD on.
It still has a Figure of 8 Microsoft Boot Virus which made me to hate Microsoft Windows for Life. It still working fine and has Endless OS on it.
It was Star Linux of Russia which erased the boot menu to begin with.
Now I am well into ARCH Linux, which include:
Reborn OS
BlueStar Linux
Endeavour OS
Storm OS
Catchy Linux
But MX Linux struck a code and it comes from AntiX.
