User and Root Passwords

There is a big advantage not using the Root Password, if you are the Only User.
One need not have to give the Password every time You install or delete an application.
But make sure you are logged off or shutdown the computer if you are away for a cup of tea.
If one sits down with a system widely opened he has access to your DATA.
Having a Root Password eleminate that danger. Bit of paranoia is welcome in Linux.

I am very comfortable with Debian and always have a Root and User password.
I believe the system and never ever fiddle with basic configuration in Debian GNOME.
I am relatively new to ARCH base and BlueStar Linux is my trustworthy compsnion.
Since,  I have two instancrs of BlueStar, I decided not to Use Root password for the Developer option.
BlueStar Linux is studded with applications.
I need add 5 or 6 GNOME applications.
I'll report you with my progress.
It is currently instslling updates
It has a conflict with one file called
bslx- beautyline - 3.0.3-5 and 2:3.0.3-4 are in conflict.

Before that I want to see whether OpenMandriva GNOME would mount.
Well it did mount.
It is updating and it has more components than in Debian GNOME.
1604 uodates.
Thank You, OpenMandriva.
Try and get your KDE Desktop (new 7th version) to install like the GNOME Iso.
KDE version 6 seems to be OK but ruined my GRUB.
In its updates it is trying to configure the GRUB and thankfully it is giving me Terminal output SLOW enough for me to read. These ARCH guys do this in lightening fast and see only the final outcome.
It took 25 minutes to install lot more than GNOME. Terminal is closed now but there another active background running item
Final test.
Try install Blender.
Well it did install it fast.
But My GRUB even though OpenMandriva read it carefully but was not RESTORED.
I have to do it myself and I am ready in another half an hour.
Win Win situation and I am glad I erased Neptune 9.1.

It has Gparted to begin with.
Instead of Synaptic Package Manager it has Open Mandriva Repository picker.
I"ll try it after updates are over.
Thank You OpenMandriva for taking me back to my humble Mandrake beginning.
Well I  am using software to install Abiword in snadbag configuration.
It is a bit if a hitchhiking.
I think it is still not customer ready.

I have to do lot of updates to my book including a chapter on Androids.
