Elephant Talks

Elephant Talks
I am not referring to the two legged variety.
Talking to them has no meaning electoral wise since they cannot talk with one voice or with coherence.
I sometime think they talk from both ends open, since the odor or the malodor that emanate is no different.
I am referring to the four legged variety who take the center stage for a brief period of ten days in the hill capital, Kandy .
I wish they could talk.
If they do, I know, unlike the two legged variety they will talk with one voice.
They will tell us, ¨Give us our heritage, the vast stretch of land we had for ourselves including  the hill country now covered with tea plantation¨.
Do not give us th barren land without water in the dry zone.
We cannot keep cool in the dry zone without waterholes.
No more development please.
No more electricity nor fence with electric shocks.
This land was hours long before humans existed.
Mammoth has gone for good, we are next in the line of extinction.
Give us a break!
Give us the ¨watershed¨.
I wish they could pull a trigger in evolution to develop the capacity to acquire language facility of their own like how the humanoid developed it (the capacity to talk and develop language was a very recent development in evolution).
But the way, the things are as it is, there is no time in their life history to develop it.
In any case, the man (including Buddhists)  will not allow that to happen by even a stroke of accident.
Why?
They will be extinct in a matter of a century.
There is no time for the evolutionary changes to come about.
Since that is not possible, I decided to have little look around the captive ones and try to develop, some channel of communication.
Make it a silent rapport.
Yes, they can understand our language but we cannot understand how they think of us.
First I wanted to see whether they were happy or not.
Of the few I surveyed they were more than happy.
They weather gods had been nice.
We had light rain from the first day of the Perehara.
The scorching sun has taken a little respite.
They have had good baths, the manicure, pedicure and the trunk-cure (this is a word I coined today-the looking after, the trunk of an elephant) or the tong-cure have been excellent.
(Mind you Cambridge professor of English, take a note of my new word.
I have no trust on Oxford with the Olympics on stage.
They will be busy coining new words for the Olympic Security Protocol taken over by the private sector.
It looks like, after the Iraq War Crime Issues of Labour regime in the background as it were with some bad taste, the conservative administration has no faith in their regular security arm).
All the elephants were happy, except one veteran in near retirement.
Unfortunately there is no retirement facility for these gentle giants.
He had tears down his cheek but they were dry when I saw him.
He was in the middle of the pack with young and the very young chaperoning him.
This guy was tall and that gave an indication of his age in years.
His skin was brownish and not golden black, like in the young adults.
He looked anaemic too.
He is no longer chewing his meal as he used to do when young.
His molar teeth are failing him and that would have been the reason for his pallor.
I do not say he was neglected but his age was showing.
Moment I came near him he gave me a gesture that told me.
I knew when you were young, you used to come and watch me in the parade or half ditched in water at Katugastota Elephant bath.
You have even scrubbed my skin and you were on top of me.
You were like a feather on my hat.
I was young but you were tiny.
Yes, I can jolly well remember you.
He lifted his trunk very very slowly not very gracefully though, but gave a glimpse of his good old majesty.
I took his picture in a snap second.
Then he stopped and looked at me very attentively.
That look was very familiar to me.
When did I see you last?
Could have been 40 odd years ago.
Your look is admirably different now.
You have no hair on your top.
They are becoming silvery.
But the smile on the corner of your mouth is the same.
You look is trim and I like the way your are.
Look at me I am having arthritis.
I cannot lift my trunk like it used to be.
I am not going to lift you up, it is going to make cranky noises in all my joints.
It might snap few ligaments if I try.
I am sorry but I wish I could take you up for a ride.
Don worry man.
My tears are not because I am sad.
I am old enough to take life on a springboard.
In fact I am happy to be in the parade this year too.
The tears were due to excruciating pain when I chew.
This may be my last parade or the tour of gratitude to the lord.
No, No I will come and see you next year too.
That is of course, if I do not kick the bucket before you.
But you can have  a bypass, know?
But I do not want a heart of a young buddy.
Even if I had a bypass my teeth are failing to pump in enough food for its smooth running.
Good Bye!
We may not see again or may be we might.
I keep my fingers cross.
I said thank you for his thoughtful gestures and remarks.
Good Bye and turned round to come home.
Mind you, I was in between four giants.
I was within their trunk range and all the mahouts were gone for lunch.
One big one was blocking my exit pathway.
He was telling me you had a big chat with the old guy.
Why not me, I can take you on my hood.
Just stay a little while,  till my master comes after his lunch.
I have not had a bath too.
I am game for a chit chat all the same, like the old guy.
As I entered the closed enclosure, I had a long pause at the entrance and he displayed few of his tricks to me with the mahout prompting.
I told the mahout just let him be.
I like the way he is.
You said you like the way I was.
I liked your comment very much.
Before you came, I was thinking of all the lasses I am going to see tonight in the parade.
When you said, ¨I like the way I was¨, I started thinking of the real reason I was here.
Not to see lasses but to pay homage to the lord.
I will focus on that now and I have all the years ahead of me to see not one but many lasses, if I do want.
I politely said, you are blocking my way.
There is nobody to order you now.
It is only a polite request from an older guy.
Why not let me go.
Your big trunk is far to comfortable for me.
I do not trust you.
You might take me for a ride or a trick or two.
I am not a bully, you know, but I like a few teasers though, to keep ahead of the time.
Then he turned 90 degrees to let me pass through the entrance.
That is very nice of you.
Thank you.
Do not forget to come again next year.
I will.
Who says elephants can´t talk?

How to make an Elephant Cry?

How to make an Elephant Cry?

How to make an Elephant Cry?
This is something I have kept in storage for a very longtime due to its politically sensitive nature.
You may remember the story I posted about, how to make an Elephant Laugh?
A decade or so ago I posted that story when web posts were the unusual and unconventional and we did not have even 1% web presence in this country.
The routers were not known and dial up connection were the norm but were painfully slow.
Then, the politicians were ignorant that there was something called WWW in existence.
That web site is currently under political scrutiny and I do not use it anyway and I have migrated to bigger things like Google and www.wordpress.com.

The web site with British Heritage with local support is blocked for reasons unknown to me.
In any case, I have no connection with anything British except BBC Sports but that also I rarely visit since I do not watch Sri-Lankan cricket at all after political interference during the last world cup with a doctor without CMC registration with dubious record was managing the Sri-Lankan cricket.
Mind you, I even missed the trashing England suffered under South African command.

I only knew it when I visited the BBC sports to see the opening ceremony details.
BBC sports has done an excellent job and I suggest you visit it now before Sri-Lankan Government ban it for publishing a news event of a Sri-Lankan official who accompanied the team found shoplifting in a far remote corner of the British Isles.
I am pretty sure more officials than the athletes have arrived in London, well before the opening ceremony and they are involved in other dubious activities other than sports in London such as SOHO or Gambling Dens.
Mind you, the gambling is our National pastime when abroad to make some fast buck of foreign exchange.
I exchanged some Travelers cheques  kept for safe keeping in view of our industrial action but the bank has failed to realize it for the last three weeks or so.
One of our stupid union man (may be he is working for the government) has slipped his tongue in public and the government has taken mean advantage of the situation and stopped payment of our salary.
The usual procedure of stop payment is to set off leave, then half pay for 3 to 6 months once the leave is exhausted and finally the full pay is withheld.
We are not even into three weeks of union action and I have all my leave and more unauthorized leave because of the strike.
This stupid union man does not know the procedures or the etiquette of addressing. the public media and how he conducts his lectures is a pertinent question in academic circles.
Probably, he is not good enough to to give lectures and has taken up union activities to survive.
Coming back, to gambling one of the Papua New Guinea players was killed returning from a gambling den in Colombo, frequented by some our of ex-cricketers (not current) and the reason is not money but a girl we are told but we are still to hear the official version or the real version now into 10 years of inquiry.
All these diversions were to tone down the political nature of the story related to the elephant who died few years ago.
How to make an Elephant cry?
This is a true story coming from the aegis of Maha Brahma.
The elephant of course ended up in heaven but the second part which was withheld by me goes on like this.
Within minutes of his presence in high heaven, he started crying.
Maha asked him Why?
When this Elephant Guy of yesteryear was ascending to high heaven, the mahout who was drunk had been sleeping on his rear holding onto his tail thinking it is the Henduwa that is used to control the the gentle giant.
As he was bit up in the air he felt something skirmish and asked where am I?
The elephant had said ¨We are on our way to high Heaven¨.
Hold tight.
What nonsense I am already in high heaven and the Kassippu was invigorating to say the least.
No my dear, we are really ascending to high heaven and hold tight.
The mahout woke up from his slumber and having realized that he was holding onto the tail and took his hand off to take the Henduwa to bring his mad Elephant to senses but alas he dropped from the sky to the earth below in a flash.
The elephant guy said to Maha that his master who was holding onto his tail had met with this tragic misadventure and I fear he is dead and he is in hell now.
Maha Brahma had a little pause and burst out into a big laughter.
Our new god was bit bemused.
Your friend did not die of the crash but the Nilame was dead instantaneously.
How come?
The Nilame has come to visit the mahout to pay his dues for the day.
Then when both of you ascended up the Nilame got hold of the mahout´s leg knowing very well that the trip was to high heaven.
When they crash landed the mahout fell on top of the Nilame and survived but not his Nilame.
He was taken into custody by the Sri-Lankan police and now he is in prison charged with murder of his boss.
Now he is in prison?
YES.
Poor guy it must be worst than the hell know?
What nonsense?
Sri-Lankan prison is hundred thousand times better than the hell with cellphones and all the paraphernalia.
Is it so?
Yes.
Do you want to see the glimpse of the hell.
Yes, please.
My goodness.
Who is that guy?
He is the Nilame that just arrived.
Why is he having a big thing hooked into his back.
He is still under investigation and on probation for a proper appraisal.
Who is that guy?
He is one of your ex-presidents now already assigned a post in hell.
What is his post?
If any of his fellow presidents join prison he has to give a proper affidavit to process his or her claim in the hierarchy reserved only for Sri-Lankan politicians.
Does he give a good one.
NEVER.
Why?
He never wanted anyone other than his party of Elephants to hold the post of presidency.
Now, that he has lost it he takes the PIN (Kusal or the merits) or PAIN of it in Hell.
Do you want to see some of the Diyawadanae Nilames there.
NO, Sir.

Ali Katha-Making an Elephant Laugh

I have reproduced this here since the original web site is blocked by somebody?
Ali Katha-Making an Elephant Laugh
Making an elephant laugh is no easy task but this is a tiny attempt with the help of a tiny animal.
This sketch is overdue and is to record the 1st death anniversary of an unfortunate (first in the history of Esala Perahera) Majestic Pachyderm at the hands of the all too important Diyawadana Nilame.
Before that I must (this is also in the same spirit) rectify some of my own lapses and some incisive comments on an attempt by local Microsoft cronies and goonies to vandalize our emails (I have many emails but intrusion to my privacy is violation of Fundamental Right of any living and dead soul).

I have already rectified one by switching to Linux completely. I have dedicated this year for Linux and have already accomplished all what I wanted, well in advance (thought it might drag on till December holidays) and have enough time for my resumes, now.
Second lapse that I rectify now is that the finding a name (word) for (see Katha on Kadde) Kadde.
The boy who raised is now growing up fast physically and in English.

This is long overdue, may be by over three years. because of the vandalization attempt by some living paranoid soul breathing air I exhale.
I started looking at some of my old writing to see whether any one has been defamed or deframed and suddenly found it not edited on time with new / old discovery.
This I give credit to a Burger Gentleman with Irish descent who inherited it from his mother.
The word is Pingo Man.
I make it Ping Pong Man since when he walks with Pingo on his shoulder, he reminds me of a dancing Ping Pong ball.
The Pingo part may have come from either Vietnam or China. In any case it sounds Chinese to me, and with the ascent of the Chinese Tiger in the East due credit should go to China if it has any connection to the birth of this word like Ying and Yang.
Coming back to the pachyderm, the treatment it gets from the mahout and the tourists, local and foreign is less than desirable, to say the least.
I can remember once I had a not so healthy argument with a Lady Doctor from UK who was voicing the concern I raised now 25 years ago.
She said that it is a violation of Animal Rights and using them for long hours without due concern is inhuman which I fully endorse without reservation, now.
These animals are ill treated during Perehara time to please tourists!
I still have picture of this lady on an Elephant at Elephant Bath (now non existent) and I have never climbed an elephant in my life.
There was another dispute I had with this lady some days later.
I said, I admire this majestic animal so much that I cannot think (not fear) of climbing on one of them and pretend that I (the man) am big or bigger than my size (she of course did not have an answer to my unexpected impromptu) but she of course enjoyed the ride thoroughly.
Coming back to making an elephant laugh none in the list below can do that.

1. Diyawadana Nilame is out on the first count.
He goes on to record (in history) for the first death of an elephant who participated in this annual event.

2. President Rajapaksa cannot achieve this because he is making the elephants (two legged) under his fold crying for posts (latest is Mr. Milinda Moragoda).

3. Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe cannot achieve this because he is making all elephants (past and present) cry in vain.

4. I cannot do that since when I go near any one of them garbed with surgical gear even a tame animal gets angry (All Sri-Lankan Doctors are a very arrogant species).

5. A gecko cannot.

6. A chameleon cannot.

7. So who can do that?

I have found one by accident.

This was an ant.
He happened to be on my cup of tea.
I asked the fellow what on earth you are doing in my cup of tea.
He looked at me and said, look guy I may be small but I have made an elephant laugh.
That made me to open my eyes wide.
I'll give you a Palawatta Sugar Grain for the information you give, please tell me the secret.
He took a meditative breath and with a smiling face told me,
It is easy.
I did that to the Majestic Elephant who died a year ago during Perehara.
My grey matter started working with new gush of pure blood not polluted by Americans.
How come?
He said when the Kandy Veterinary Surgeon was attending to him, he hid inside the nose (with his poking the elephant was crying) and when he was gone came out from his hiding (in the night) place to inquire why he was crying.
He said to the ant in his slumber, these guys even not me sleep my last nap (sleep) with poking and probing.
Suddenly the ant realized, he is having his last conversation with this majestic guy.
He (ant) whispered to the elephant, buck up you guy, if they take you to the Intensive Care Unit, I'll give all my blood and save you, OK.
To this the elephant could not stop laughing.
He took his last breath laughing and ended up in heaven.
The moral of this story is when one is dying only the little ones are near you.
Little things can make one happy but not doctors without humour.
For the two legged elephants, the little ones (grass root citizens and not those who are at Diyawaanawa) are the ones that matter most.

Not foreign tours.

Small is beautiful!

Linux and Mobility with Wireless World

I have more information for you.
My decision to go mobile was proven right.
My wired connection is giving me only 5 Kb per second and it cannot even connect me to Google let alone my email..
I switched it off and even my torrent downloads are at snail pace.
I only went for a data plan and no iPhone or mobile telephone used.
I hate telephones and take them as constant irritation and enemy to productive work.
I am made to understand that cell phones will eclipse the human population soon.
It is matter of time!
Only Internet and prepaid SIM.
The other requirement is Linux compatible unlocked dongle and a good Linux distribution, ideally a latest edition.
They are Ubuntu easily the best and automatically connected me to the Internet.
It gives all the details too.
I will list them down (some numbers are changed to mask my IP Address) here if one is doing manual configuration.
They guys and girls in
Dialog, Mobitel. Airltel, Tigo and the rest do not understand them unfortunately.

1. IP Address ooo.222.222.152
2.Broadcast Address as above 000.222......
3.Subnet Mask. 255.255.255.255.255
Default Router 00.64.64.64
Primary DNS.000.19.72..201.
Secondary DNS.000.19.72.201

Please do not use above they are not real.

Good luck with your mobile roaming with Linux and there over 200 active Linux distribution to choose.

I have stooped downloading and testing them to save my electricity bill which is more than I pay for the Linux Magazine for a year subscription and I get a DVD with every issue.

Why don't you subscribe to it and save time and electricity?

Linux and Mobility with Wireless World.
If one is an ardent Linux user one is discriminated for being such in Sri-Lanka.
This had been the case few years ago but with routers hitting the market we were lucky.
Lately even the server functions are slow and not reliable and I was without internet connection for over 10 days.

I decided to opt for Mobile connection as a backup which my daughter uses since she prefers the mobility than to hook up to a wired Ethernet.

As usual I did a market survey to find both Mobitel and Dialog do not support Linux with their dongle devices.

I did not check Tigo and Airtell.]

I bought few dongles for wireless router (which I do not use now) when I was abroad but they do not have slot for SIMS.
I knew of a vendor who is quite up to date with gadgets in Kandy and he found me a dongle that can be used with any SIM and Linux compatible.

After that I found a wireless router that was Linux compatible.

Armed to the teeth I went to Mobitel and bought a SIM and with the help of the guys at the desk after several visits we were able to mount my Linux distribution with the dongle attached.

Below is an email related to that story.
It still has minor hiccoughs, none of which the Linux cannot negotiate.
It is strange that the dongle should not have Linux script to support Linux and the guys and girls who work for Microsoft and Apple have to bootstrap their efforts to be less discriminating in a commercial world.

This is why one of us has to be a hacker to hack these dongles for them to be universally acceptable.
I have no time for those activities till I retire but a guy who has more time and adept at Linux should try it for me.

Following is an email I posted to Mobitel Service.
Thanks for your help.
The SIM is still temperamental with my Linux Distribution.
It is all due to the dialog box wanting a number, password and ping information.
I persisted with not entering any data in those entries and at last the SIM sent a message to handshake with the server.
Still there was a problem since I worked with the live distribution on RAM and not on my hard disk installation.
In a couple of goes the hard disk installation picked the message and I was quickly on the web.
Unfortunately every time I wanted to access the web I had to configure it since the netbook was earlier used with the wired router ( I will have a go, with the wireless router when I have time).

Then I changed the SIM to Mobitel Dongle but it did not automatically recognize Linux.

I opened is files in it to find install Linux file and clicked it and the script installed 7 files in a folder but still those files were not automatically recognized by Linux since the root kit and its files are meant for Microsoft and Apple Mac.

I believe a clever Linux guy (not me) can write a simple script to overcome this problem of the Mobitel Dongle without any physical changes.

I will look into these files when I have time (busy now).

In the process I may have corrupted the SIM and may not be able to use it anymore.
I will be visiting you to buy another SIM if it was the eventual outcome of my adventure with the mobile gadgets.
Thanks again.

Moment Meditation

If I am asked what is meditation?
I would try to answer it by saying,
Moment gained is moment lost in Meditation,
Moment not gained or lost is the the true
Focus of attention in Meditation.

Equally, it is not a void or an empty phenomena or vacuum,
But the height of intense attention
That is not measured in seconds
But by nanoseconds of intensity,
Which is very difficult to achieve
In a world of distraction.

One should try to see
Its own application
In a moment of meditation.

Buddhism and Meditation

Theravada

Compassion the underlying theme.

This is the Bodhisattva Theme
Cha'n Buddhism or Zen

Every Individual has Buddha potential.

Adapted to the region and culture of the region.
It diversified with new meanings
Tibetan
Japanese
Chinese Cha'n or Zen

Vajrayana
750 CE
Diamond Vehicle
Bon Shaama's declared it as a doom
The King Failed to erect the Tibetan (Vihara) Monastery

Most likely due to earth quakes of that time.

Padmashambhava
Tantric practice

My addition.
The Alien Aircraft crash landed on Tibet.
Some were saved back to the mother ship but a lot were left behind.
They were powerful and treated humans cruelly.
They gradually established there as a colony.
They eventually interbred with humans.

They unlike humans could live on harsh conditions and detested human encroachment.
Humans treated them as ghosts and daemons.

Meditative power and Tantric practices were developed to repel them.
Either these aliens were saved by their forefathers or were gradually vanished or integrated.

Some of them still remain as Spiritual Elders but rarely interact with humans.
They are able to see into the future.

Gradually coexistence instead of confrontation.

My Alien theory has a base.
Read Ana Blastikova.

Intense Meditative practice.

Enlightenment in this life.
Tibetans live long life probably due to genes of Aliens who had very long life.
Unless one has a long life one cannot travel in space.

One cannot preach Buddhism to these beings who believe that life is endless.
They have healing and repairing techniques of their own which contribute to their long life..
Their wish to return to their mother planet.

Chinese invasion in 1950 shattered this Tibetan ancient civilization.
14th Lama fled to India.
Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959.

This is why I hate China and Chinese.

They (Chinese) cannot be trusted
Rest of the Lama are scattered around the world and the rest of the Tibetan tradition is dying and fragmenting.

My Analysis
Buddhism is not evolving but devolving.
Each traditional practice is losing it grip and getting diluted.

Even in Ceylon there is Niragamika Theme and Niragamika Party in power, it is total disaster for Buddhist Culture.

Within the last 7 months every attempt is made to belittle Buddhist Culture.

It is India/CIA/China, NGO cohorts.
The operation is well advanced.

I think this cohort attempt may make a resurgence of Temporary Renaissance.

 Summary
1. Precision in Theravada
Analysis including Abidhamma.

2. Compassion in Mahayana
Universal Brotherhood.
One human species and Peace
No Wars.

3. Power of Meditation in Vajrayana

It is my wishful thinking, more and more effort is needed in spite of dilution and disruption tactics.

We must get rid of the current Regime in Power for Buddhism to survive in Ceylon within two years.

That is my message to the International Buddhist Forums.

My attempt
To protect Buddhism from attack from various corners, as much as it is possible.

By the way, I am away from Ceylon.
At this moment life is not guaranteed in Ceylon with lot of underworld elements.

Remember these guys and girls killed lot of civilians in Ceylon in 1971-1973 and 1986-1989
Their hands are blood stained.

WordPress

WordPress
WordPress is a Open Source Content Management System (C.M.S) that provides a simple web application platform for web hosting.

If you a Linux geek you can download it and tweak it to satisfy your needs but the open license prevents you from developing new themes other than what is already agreed and known as the standard.

It probably developed from Ubuntu Turnkey applications and has a significant market share of web hosting for smaller companies.

My intention here is to let you know that there is www.wordpress.org that gives you a blog space like here in Google's blogspot that can be your personal web site before you mature into a Web Wizard.

Other reason for me to highlight it here is that it has support for Sinhala fonts and Tamil fonts for your web writings.

Do not wait till Government provides you with necessary infrastructure in IT including fonts, go and become a Web Star (not a Mega Star) by learning the basics with WordPress.

It is easy as a word processing program and you will ascend to greater heights once you master the Code.

A glossary of the Codecs are published elsewhere free for access.

It is free but once you are mature you can pay a nominal fee and upgrade your blog site which for me is almost a complimentary website without annoying advertisements that hide your creativity.

I downloaded WordPress some months ago but failed to write something about it since I was obsessed with Linux 100 Live CDs.

I still have the WordPress web site I made and it is not PUBLIC.

Now I am quietly delving into inner strengths of Linux and Open Source talking about WordPress is appropriate here.

The omission was a serious lapse on my part and my apologies for that.

WordPress is as important as Dropbox for new wave of web activity with cloud computing on the horizon

Two Stories Worth Relating

Two Stories Worth Relating

It is worth relating two true stories, here.

There were no cellphones but brick sized walkie talkies.

I packed the family to Ceylon and living alone in the hospital house in UK.

I had a nasty night with lot of patients and wanted to catch up with my sleep. I came home around 1.30AM and there was a bit racket on the pantry door. I put the fridge, freezer and the dryer against the pantry door so that it won’t open.

When I woke up 1PM, the next day there was no electricity to make a cup of tea. I gave a call to the telephone exchange to ask why there was no electricity. The lady there started laughing saying;

“You are hell of a guy! Slept through the worse cyclone in our living history. Open your door and see that your parapet wall is knocked down and the roof of the next door is blown off”.

Any way, they quickly restored my electricity and the pantry gadgets saved the roof over my head.

The second story was less dramatic.

On a Saturday, afternoon in New Zealand, I woke up on the floor next to my bed. There again, no electricity to make a cuppa.

I asked why from the telephone exchange?

With a laugh;

“You are hell of a guy, you slept though an earth quake of the magnitude of 7.2 Richter scale

“ Well I am on the floor but no injuries”.

When I looked at the “Buddha in a frame”, it was still tilting!

Of course, computers were my addiction, even those days.

Macron is a Sick Guy to Tolerate Abuse in Public

I am a medical guy off practice over 25 years but still can identify a Sick Guy.
Tolerating abuse is even sicker.
I left UK long time ago, having seen even police officers in UK involved in abuse of kids.
I did my part but deep underneath had the fear one day one these guys might come after me with violence unseen.
So, leaving UK, I have no regrets.
When I see three European heads abusing drugs in public and journalists remaining number, is an indication how deep the problem in Europe.
These are the very guys who are talking about Human Rights Violations related to our Internal Conflict.
I think Macron should resign.
I have given up my learning French and visiting Ifel Tower, one day in my twilight years.
Not worth the expense.
I might consider visting Russia, instead.
Only if Zelensky is disposed by popular vote.
He is the guy who is dispensing "Potent DRUGS" to Ruling Elite.
What a scenario!

Linux Activator and Linux

My approach to Linux 100 was purely academic but I never thought that lot of guys. especially the guys developing Linux would care to listen to my comments with any enthusiasm and would take them with good spirit and add utilities that I tend to like the most.

One of the utilities was
PHP / MySQL Admin. since in my age and time I am tired of working on a terminal with poor eyesight and trying to work only on command line.

It is imperative that to encourage newbies that come from Microsoft background to get a hang of (good example is myself- having worked with SPSS and Access especially for my research work and trying to do some work only on terminal was anathema by itself) Linux before delving into commend line and scripts.

This is especially so when admirable utilities with graphic front has or being developed are available for wider use.

When these are incorporated in a distribution that make life easy for lot of users who are not full time administrators but have to get involved in administrative functions, especially database management ( for example in Medical Practice).

I thought only a few Linux guys especially the newbies would be interested in my comments
as a way of grumbling and wining especially coming from the Windows background like a spoiled brat.

Judging by the Linux outputs recently my reservation was ill founded.

There are lot of guys /girls with a global picture and with lot of dynamism.

Another reservation is for us in the countries where download speed is hopelessly inadequate downloading a DVD is a nightmare and lot of little CDs are much better than a FAT DVD distribution with lot of utilities rarely used.

This is where PCLinux was a trend setter on its own right.

It is nice to see even Fedora 14 has taken a leaf out of PCLinux history and following its foot paths.

Sabayon is doing it (of course they have been doing it independently).

Salix is introducing Live KDE.

I never thought this will happen in my life time.

There is lot of convergence in spite of the diversity.

That is the beauty of Linux.

I hope I never made a comment to hurt any guy / girl doing hard work for Linux with shear dedication.

All my comments were in good spirit since I am a Linux fanatic by choice and not by descent.

If I had made any comments sharp, they were to tone the commercial trends and subtle insinuation by rival distributions to undermine the advance of Linux.

This is happening everyday.

Beware!

I believe in small is beautiful and small (bet on the strength of the hand but not what others have-re-rival companies) is powerful when chips are down and the stock market is tumbling.

It is nice to see UK stock market is following the footsteps of US stock market even 3 years later (US probably anticipated the crisis 2 years before the event, I guess!)

Partitioning with Magic Tools in Linux

Partitioning with Magic Tools in Linux
Partition Magic is a commercial version now!

Gone are the days when I had to install Win98 and then Partition Magic and then partitioning which took ages and then install Redhat or Mandriva or Debian with dual booting.

Nero was my writing tool in spite of Linux installed on my PC.

Suffice is to say Nero had done enough damage to my CD/DVD ROMs and Graphic Cards.

Then there was no K3B.

Beauty of K3B is it diagnoses the defective CD / DVD and reject them after examination without damaging the RAM or the CD/DVD ROMs.

Next stage is Live CDs starting with PCLinux-2007.

The transmigration and single booting with multiple Linux distributions
in my computer network and liberation from proprietary components has given me opportunity to investigate partition tools in Linux.

My favorite partition tool is and was
Partition tool in SuSe which is excellent and gave me lot of freedom and opportunities.

But then again I have to have SuSe installed to get full use of the partition tool
.
Now
SuSe Studio has spawned a KDE Partition Magic it is rightful I should mention about the others for newbies.

1.
R.I.P (Recovery Is Possible) is one of my favorite Live CD which I use for partitioning.

2.
Damn Small Linux and Gparted were the first of my choices those days.

3. Gparted live CD.

4. Partition Magic CD in zip format only a Linux distribution can decipher is the latest of my utilities.

5. PC Linux, Mandriva were my old friends but PCLinux has dropped DOS partitions (which I keep for spare storage) which is a bit of pain.

My only grouse now is most of the partition tools including SuSe limits partitions to 15 which is absurd with hard disks over 500 GB are on the market and guys like me who want to have several Linux distributions in one box.

If one distribution has failed in a trick I mount another and get the job done.

For example SuSe gives limited space for Thrash and it cannot delete a large (for example an image of 4GB) file.

Then I mount PCLinux and do the job of deleting the large file with its help.

Do not get fixed to one Linux distribution (especially Ububtu) since there are hundreds of out there with many utilities like blender, gambas, audio video (Media Box) and many more to have fun with.

To have fun and to have many distributions you need a partitioning tool and one has to master partitioning.

It is as chicken feed now unlike the days I was struggling to get everything right at least once a year in December before I recess for some holiday and relaxing.

Fortunately because my 100 Linux adventure (111 now) I can have a long holiday well before December.

Enjoy all partitioning tools they do not hurt the hard disks unlike Microsoft utilities.

Another Trick Exposed!

Another Trick Exposed!

Richard Stallman is right, moment the market forces are introduced to Linux distributions, there is hardly any difference from Microsoft, Apple or Oracle and for that mater XandroS, Freespire, Mandriva, SuSe or ArtistX.

After many days of downloading what is said to be free distribution I am unable to keep a copy of Mandriva, Suse or ArtistX in my USB hard disk for safe keeping.

Thank god I did not bother to download DVDs in the first instance.

I was happy with CDs,

I have no intention of selling them.

I am interested in testing them and saying something good about them generally and expose some of their weaknesses as I see from a customer perspective so that next version can avoid minor irritations.

Customer is the best judge and Linux guys are not trained to be good salesmen any way.

That is why the Linux guys with commercial interest fail.

That is true for Mandriva and SuSe.

The have hidden tricks up their sleeves.

They do not let you keep a copy for reference.

This scenario can be overcome by following methods.

1. Burn several copies of the CD and do not bother about the Iso Image like me.

2. Use K3B and make a image without burning a CD /DVD

K3B makes a Temporary Image in tmp and rename it

That is what I did with ArtistX.

Then copy it to a CD/DVD or to a USB hard drive (but remember its temporary name).

3. Forget about using that distribution and select one out of the 100 and 1 distributions I have listed in this blogsopt.

4.
Once you are comfortable with Linux avoid all commercial Linux.

5. Best solution is to have couple of Live CDs that have the applications you need.

When you try to copy, in the final few seconds they disrupt the coping process with a little script at the end that says it cannot be copied.

If they say it should not be copied it is a different matter.

Even if I sell a few copies I cannot become a millionaire.

This is absurd in the true spirit of FOSS.

They are no better.
Wolves in sheep clothing.
Take hard working Developers for granted.

Mandriva has the way of disrupting the last few MB which does not tally with total MB so that the would be newbie has to go and buy a copy.

If you are lazy it is far better to buy rather than download a Iso with missing files.

Like a good salesmen one must state the facts but not like an insurance agents or dealers who have hidden clause/s.

A clever customer can catch you and detect the faults unlike the gullible guy with lot of money and spare wallets.

It is like a bad dream or joke!

Feather Linux

Web site: featherlinux.berlios.de (not active)
Origin: United Kingdom
Category: Desktop, Mini Distribution
Desktop environment: Fluxbox
Architecture: x86
Based on: Knoppix
Wikipedia: Feather Linux
Media: Live Cd
The last version | Released: 0.7.5 | July 04, 2005

Feather Linux – a small, Knoppix based Linux distribution which fits in under 128 MB.
It boots from either a CD or a USB flash drive, into a Fluxbox desktop environment and works in live mode, but a hard drive installation option is also available. It can run on a 486 or higher, and requires 16MB RAM to run on the console, and 24MB RAM to run the X server.

Feather Linux iso image features a set of applications for many tasks, such as: Firefox,

Gaim,

AbiWord,

MPlayer with all the needed plugins,

XMMS with a handful of plugins,

Sylpheed,

 AbiWord,

Pidgin,

Rox-filer, and a lot more.

Due it is based on Knoppix (and Debian), Feather offers Synaptic for package managing.

The founder and developer of the Feather Linux is Robert Sullivan.

FeatherLinux
Strangely enough this is 111 in my Linux List.

Like Damn Small Linux and Puppy Linux the Feather Linux is a Beauty
.

I always believed the concept "Small is Beautiful".
This is and example in addition to DSL.

I was DSL fan to begin with.

When I was new to Linux and
when I first bought the Linux Bible by Christopher Naegus (I have three different editions now, latest one I bought few months ago after a 6 year Gap), and in those that booted from Floppy Disks, there were only a few Live CDs (Knoppix was there but I did not know about Puppy then-Puppy is one of my favorites now with over 25 varieties in my possession) that I copied form one of the CD/DVDs that came with the book.

I booted up live and enjoyed Linux and its utilities.

Just little over 100 MB one do wonders which 1000 MBs or 1GB cannot.

It is a Knoppix derivative by the way!

One thing they did best was if you are unable to get to the Internet they did it in double quick time (with a router easily but with with Sri-Lankan Telecom modems with some difficulty).

Today I used
Dillo and I could not sign up with Google (that was basic test based browser without cookies) and bit fiddly with my keyboard too but I managed to post this in Firefox.

Abiword is there xPDF is there, Xmms is there and many more.

Pretty fast to boot too.

Today just for testing downloaded 700 MB of STUX (which STUCK) after half an hour of struggling it could not configure my NV Graphic Card and configured non existent devs and I was scared it will bust my Graphic Card all because it was trying to mount all its compressed files into RAM.

It could not give me a console (or consolation prize) to exit or a
killall command.

I had to switch off the computer by getting into a null state
(I call it null state) a non existent command in Linux (just wait a while and switch off the computer with the hand on your chest with gospel words in my mouth-but beware the graphic card and RAM-which I used burn those days and also mid night oil, learning Linux all by myself with no Guru to help).

Thanks a lot the Guys and Girls at Feather Linux.
Keep up the good work.

It is long time since I booted Feather Linux.
You will have lot of feathers in your caps.
Thanks again!

OH-GOD-Linux

OH-GOD-Linux
If you a Christian newbie this is for you.

Now that I have secured an iso for myself and the full copyright of that iso's name as Go.Go-F.O.F. Linux I am thankful to God and all Linux Developers for providing me with the download facility of AOGOS Linux.

This is a Christian Slackware Linux which is fantastic to learn Linux Tricks.

It is a version that you can carry your Linux Distribution and the Bible in a Pendrive or a DVD.

I was bit unhappy that this was a zip image especially thinking that I have to learn the Bible to perform Linux tricks.

Being a Buddhist I was more than irritated.

Even though it was three (3 AM) in the morning I did not want to go to sleep without burning an iso.

I am safe doing this since all the other Buddhists are fast asleep now.

I went to Softpedia.

Looked at the page description.

This is a good web page and I could find the way to do it / make an iso.

1. Extract the zip file to a folder named AOGOS.

2. Then go to the boot folder and open it.

3. Find the make-iso.sh file.

4. Open a terminal window in Linux

5. Drop the make-iso.sh into the terminal window and hit enter.

6. Find the iso and make a boot CD in K3B.

Presto!
It writes an image in the download folder as a boot.iso.
It gives an option for you to give a name for the iso.

Please do not do that. just for now.

It took ages for me to find the name of the new iso (name is boot.iso) but I knew it was there since my download folder was almost full.

Eventually I booted up the DVD.

It is good as gold.

It is new NFlux box.

right click not writeclique and go to Firefox and then you are at FreeBible web site.

Well done Boys and Girls (Good Christians) who developed this iso.

Only downside is even the Christians in this country are poor in money affairs but not in virtues, they cannot afford a DVD drive and DVD (twice the price of CD).

I hope a CD iso can be made since nFlux is not heavy in its armaments (sorry, for my terminology this is a post military country now, habits are too ingrained and diehard).

Now let me tell you why I did not want you to name the iso file.

I renamed it as the Oh-GoD-Linux and saved it in my archives for any Christian friend of mine who asks for it will have it free if he or she gives me a blank DVD.

Or I can rename it as Do-Do Linux and give it to any friend of mine.

The most interesting part of this CD/DVD is that it has Laminin as a logo (in its desktop image ) that binds all the cells to basement membrane as an anchor) which is almost a replica of the Cross.

Unlike Buddhists who are deeply divided with all the Laminins broken this DVD and the Laminin will bind all the Christians of this country together.

It is a good Christmas Gift for kids.

P.S. (5-11-20100)
Sorry for the glaring mistakes in English which I think were corrected today (5th November).
Who cares for Queen's English in this country especially 3 A.M in the morning, me half awake and trying to burn an iso and run it to see its virtues.
Even the Telecom and the kids who say I am Sri-Lanka would be proud of my English.
When we begin to say "We are Sri-Lankans" but not "I am Sri-Lankan"

God save the Queen and her English!

Linux and the RAM

Linux and the RAM
It is not so long ago with 4 MB on board VG and 64MB RAM  I was able to boot Redhat 8
Mandrike, Debian, Xandros (no live CDs except Knoppix, I had not yet discovered the Damn Small Linux) with some difficulty SuSe in my desktop.

The Linux is somewhat bloated now.

Without at least 512MB RAM one is not able to boot and install Linux now.

This is not a good recipe for average Sri-lankan who cannot afford to eat rice with Pol Sambol now (due to surging RAM on Pol Pol Arrakku and Pol-Coconuts).

If anybody makes a Linux distribution called
Pol Sambol Linux, nobody will care to try it even if it is given free of charge (nothing is free in this country liberated except daily headaches).

So RAM is important for a low budget person like me.

Let me talk about the type of RAMs before relating my story.

I started with 100 BUS SDR RAM.

Those days finding two 128 RAMs was extremely difficult especially 100 BUS speed.

I had to wait for years and hack them out of junk computers imported to Sri-Lanka.

Then came the SDR 133 (BUS) speed RAM and somehow I could find 256MB of RAM with an assortment of 128's and 64's.

This was just enough for me to boot all Linux distributions without a hassle.

Then came DDR 1, 2 and 3 and the RAMs were hefty in size.

The other day my daughter's computer with Linux installed was out (the reason was the usual overload and with 20 GB hard disk - over the last one year she had collected junk files (no viruses) and she does not want me to clean the junk files and she does not do it herself and one or two years of IDE hard disk is good throughput, anyway).

I dismantled the hard disk and put a new 80 GB hard disk that I have kept for future use.

I was trying to partition (not with DOS now) the new hard disk with PCLinux-2010 and I could not.

Then I tried LXDE and could not.

Finally I had to go back to
DSL and later to Linux Partmagic to get the new disk prepared.

I did not enjoy all this at late night and gave her the computer with SATA 20GB and 80GB IDE (dual) with newly installed PClinux 2010-10 and downloaded, a few of the software she needed for her work.

This was also bought from a junk deal and of course I added 512 graphic card to get it in prime condition.

I asked her whether we buy a new one and she was not that keen on a new one (now that she is very much comfortable with Linux without viruses and dropping her bad Microsoft habits was a welcome change for me).

The new Linux (PCLinux 2010) distributions are cravvy on RAM and use the full 256 RAM and after that could not do anything useful including install.

This is why I call KDE the Gorilla Linux with some affection for Gorilla and the KDE (I am a KDE fan now except when I do repair work on old computers),

So if you are using Live CDs have at least
1 GB of RAM if you are thinking of installing the same.

Otherwise it will freeze during the installation process.
This is true of Ubuntu 10.10 and SuperOs (DVD), too.

SuSe needs minimum of 512 (but ideally 1 GB) and that is also with CD and not DVD.

SuSe of course can be installed (very good feature) from the live CD without loading into RAM which most of the Linux Live distributions do not include or offer including PCLiniux.

Ultimately I decided to use the computer as a
TV box in addition to using it as a web outlet with 1 GB RAM added.

Unlike those days there are plenty of unused second hand SDR RAMs in the market without buyers.

For Linux newbies and savvy this can be a Treasure House or Goldmine.

The Linux is far behind in configuring variety of TV cards
now on the market and I hope developers will be looking to this aspect since it is cheaper to use a computer as a TV box instead of an expensive and flashy
LCD TVS now in the market.

Linux on a low budget and RAM

Linux on a low budget and RAM

I was somewhat obsessed with the variety of live CD distributions on offer that I have overlooked Linux on a low budget and computers both old and new with little or inadequate RAM.

There are many to list but I will mention a handful of them to conclude my investigation of user friendly tiny vinny distributions that I have come across.

1.
Geebox come to my mind that is similar to gamebox or media player with needing 0nly 25MB.

2. My favorite is Puppy which is 90 to 120 MB and there are over 30 varieties.
The last of which I downloaded was
EliteOS (with a commercial presentation included).
It is pretty good.
In the Puppy 5 series, the
lupu is another celebrity.

3.
Damn Small Linux (the one I use when I am in trouble booting and partitioning) is a beauty on its own with only 50MB.

4.
Astrumi (120 MB) is another good one. I think it is a Polish distribution.
The older version cannot recognize LCD monitors.
New ones are coming by the dozens.

5.
4MLinux-Gamer is only 11MB and and the standard is 25MB.

6.
Voyage is only 45MB.

7.
xPUD a web browser and media player is 65MB.

8. The
xin-v1 is only 52MB

9.
SliTas

10.
Tiny Me

11.
Finnix is another

12.
WiFiWay small 285MB and Standard 408MB (Spanish).

13.
Minix is 385MB.

14. CRUX is 220MB.

15.
NimbleX was less than 200MB but now is bit fatty and has doubled itself to 400MB.

16.
Feather Linux is also another flag bearer (like DSL) of small and beautiful Linux.

Then come to the the partition tools, there are many and one does not need a proprietary software to do partitioning (I have dropped MS partition magic for good but it was the one that saved many hours of sleep (sleepless nights before that) in the early days of Linux experience)

17.
gparted

18.
partmagic

19.
pmagic

20.
R.I.P. Linux

20 is a magic number for me
In studies of evolution (my personal work) if there are 20 related species in a locality that 20 would circumvent any adverse climatic change at least temporarily but if that figure is 3 the species is critically endangered.

With the same context in time to come Microsoft is an endangered commercial species may be catering for other planetary systems in space.

The host of Ubuntu derivatives that come as
TURNKEY should be the fitting end to my list.

The list is endless and my favorites are
Puppy, DSL and Feather Linux.

They are the ones I have used comfortably and on a regular basis and I have used in demonstrations to show Linux prowess.

Sorry guys and girls that I have only mentioned your names only and they are much better and my GoGo. F.O.F. Linux which is still under construction with my workforce on extended Christmas holidays enjoying other Linux for relaxation.

They are allowed to copy any good idea free of charge or copyrights.

It is an understatement when I say that they are the most useful when one (I am in trouble) is in trouble or on low in RAM to do the tit bits (not bits and bytes).

Bye till new year!

Celebrations without Microsoft
I am celebrating the third anniversary without Microsoft, this Christmas.

Is there anybody other than Anuradha doing work only on Linux in Sri-Lanka?

Please post an email or comment below so that we can have a private party.

I was trying to catch 100 students (school leavers to train free) from Kandy.

That was a total failure (blessing in disguise for me) but welcome free time for me to enjoy life with my kids.

Aragalya is a Criminal Offense and Guys and Girls should be treated with Criminal Law of the Country (Ceylon)

The bottom line is Aragalya is illegal.

Just compare the actions taken in America when they stormed the Senate House.

Why there is a difference in Ceylon.

India, China and USA getting involved in Ceylon are also illegal.
Ambassadors only have diplomatic immunity.

CIA covertly cannot operate in Ceylon.

Aragalya is a Criminal Offense and Guys and Girls should be treated with Criminal Law of the Country (Ceylon)

It is actually a conspiracy to oust the Legal Government by Illegal means.

1. This include Police Officers who facilitated it.

2. Lawyers who defended these illegal occupants and who (including so, called lawyers) facilitated the uprising against the state for no reason at all.
Debt crisis cannot be taken as a reason but a civil issue.

3. Catholic Church and Priests and the Church which orchestrated the background and were instrumental in bringing it on.

The past dates I cannot remember and I was kid.
See what is below.

J.R.J. tied this Under Sirima.
Ozie Corea was in it.

Buddhist monks tried  (BuddhaRakkitha) under S.W.R.D. and they were taken to task legally.

So the present cardinal should be taken to task.

He cannot hide in Vatican.

4. Ranil Wickmasinghe for planning this outside the parliament.
He is immune while inside or holding the post of President.

The way he came to parliament was also illegal.

5. Any one could be legally prosecuted for deeds done when not holding a legal post (MP, PM, President etc)

6. Nobody is above the law of this country which has a solid constitution unlike in UK including Police officers violating the constitution by inciting the Aragalya or Outside Forces.

That include the film actors too.

7. YouTube guys and girls who incite violence are included.

Free Speech cannot be used as a defense if they are Operating Against the STATE.

There is no "Free for All" scenario in Courts of Law.

7. My point is nobody is raising these issues.
I am a medical guy in retirement and I have had dealing in Courts of Law to defend my rights (Municipality violating my rights was one of them).

I won by perseverance.

But is is very difficult to run against Immigration Officers.

Please KNOW that as fact.

Balty Gaseema Nohoth Monkey Dance

Sepala is the classic example of My Theory of Balty Gaseema.

There was a Ahikuntaka guy that used to come to Kandy with a monkey, python and a cobra.
His daily expense was Rs.25,00 to 3000.
Monkey eats bananas.
Python needs beef.
Cobra needs eggs.
This was before Gas Queues of Ranil's Economic Theory and his current expense should be easily Rs.100,000.
300% increment or real inflation in Ceylon.

These guys in Colombo do not feel the pinch that an average villager feels.

1. Sepala worked for NPP.

2. Then soon after he became anti-NPP.
He is a balty KING.
That is to increase his patroon contribution to his cock and bull theory on YouTube.
He is like the Uraga Anselum who pretends to be a professor for Uragyas (snakes and scorpions) who was a laboratory technician when I was a meidcial student. There was another guy like him in the Medical Faculty at that time and his name I forget.
He looks (external appearance) another version of bogus professor at least Anselem was good at dissecting cobras (I abhor violence to animals from my medical student days, to become a good doctor one should cultivate that empathy for all living beings not only humans) and putting rings around the belly of cobras (inhuman guy).

Sepala is like a swinging monkey.

Ready for bulty dance at any political turn of events.

3. Now he is supporting Ranil.
Why?
Nothing but dollars.
He is saying Ranil's has a white paper for education.

This guy had never gone to a proper school.
Ranil plan is to destroy Kannaggara Free Education.
Especially the University Education.
I am one who fault hard against the Ranil another monkey roll against university education (CIA agenda)

Kumar Gunatatnam and Pubudu guys are hard work at destroying university education and the money dish out in these "on the road actions" probably coming from Ranil.

My time these guys had only a fringe influence but Anura, the Game Ranil are accessories during Aragalaya which Ranil was the brain child.

I am interested to see how many provincial council seats UNP/Sepala Combo wins.

My Current Political Analysis of Ceylon

Ranil and UNP
Pragmatic and Painful

Anura and NPP
One Party Idealism and Self Created Political Roadblocks
That leads to ametuerism
Or try and see policy

Sajith and Harsha
Pragmatism and Free Dole

My Plan biased with Buddhist Outlook
Middle Path of Buddha, not staying in the middle as in politics
Pragmatism
Live within means
Empathy

Current Outlook
World without Empathy is crude and physical one of the ways of Ranil.
Could kill a guy with opposing views as in Batalanda.
A police State.
JVP
Can kill due to jeslosy and caste base.
We are shifting from one extreme to the other without understanding the "Middle Way".
There is also CIA/India and anti-Buddhist undercurrent with a military objective with based in Colmobo, Trincomale, Mihintale and Sigiriya that "Soma Deva" guy proposing. I think he had got a big dollar cut to destroy Ceylon history by LTTE diasphora.

Track Record

Posted on February 10, 2011
Track Record
 Track Record
We are a country very well known for very bad track records.

If we take the political fields and feedback we have from politics as a track record is a very vibrant democracy but unable to protect voting rights or for that matter exercise the vote intelligently.

We are even ready to sell it come elections and we have devised so many rackets involving voting and counting even the very old and ancient election commissioner does not know what really happens at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the process and his report comes well pass the deadline and perhaps after his retirement.

I am not talking about that record.

Then we have the track record of sending the biggest contingent of athletes to neighbouring India for Commonwealth games and come back empty handed and the gold won was disgraced by a registered practitioner.

This is not about that tack record, too.

Then we have a veritable track record in cricket but not for the past 10 years.

We have an appalling bad record of selecting the correct players for a tournament except perhaps with some reservation of the squadron for this time.
We love flying even if we do not understand any aviation matters and maps and routes except from Colombo to Katunayake, especially if it is paid by somebody else.

This is not about that track record and ticketing and seats for a flight abroad for the Cricket World Cup.

This is about the internet track record.

Even though, we have an enormous track record of downloading porn even from
Nanasalas in Temples this is all about torrent track record on Linux.

It goes on like this.

Since I had a very poor service contract with our local Telecom, I was forced to
turn to Torrents (the undercurrent of my exercise of the free franchise) by default and learn something about it.

Again there was nobody to tell me what exactly I should do and how to set about it.

So I did my own research having been trained to do research protocols for the university all alone.

And this is the track record of what I discovered from PCLinuxfullMonty’s K-torrent track.

PCLinuxFulMonty was my favorite, then.
I do not use it now since it is slow to update.

It gives a nice graphic record of every file I download and its bits and pieces and chunks.

Unlike the Telecom it gives details to the nanosecond’s of time and I sit and watch the flow of events.

For Salix 13 download there were only about 10 seeders and not a soul from this part of the world.

One from USA. All the rest from European Community except that not a soul from UK (this is where we go to learn IT) and one Brazil and one Australian (Australia has embraced Linux well and I think ADIOS comes from there but not updated for the last 5 years or so).

For Fedora 14 the story is different.
There is nobody from Ceylon with so many Universities with IT training Centers all over the country.

There was absolutely nobody active (I am excluded by default being a leecher).

From India there were two souls.

Nobody from China or Hongkong or Taipei.

But come America there was plenty out there of about 250 seeders (mostly from universities) helping my download speed.

Rest were from European Community but England had only 3.

What is happening in IT industry and in Linux in this country?

In spite of all the capitalist views coming from USA it is the only country opening up to Linux.

Not only Universities but Federal Government and Stock Market, too.

These things were happening even before Obama came into the scene.

I do not give him the credit but I give that to people like
Richard Stallman (demigod of Linux) and his followers.

In Ceylon can we give any credit to anybody?

Yes we can (Obama saying)

There is one way doing it and testing it.

I will not do it for sure.
That is guaranteed.

Steps are below.

Only 5 simple steps to Nirvana in Linux.

1. One has to buy a rackety old computer.
2. Install Linux
3. Start Torrent
4. Go to your favorite porn site
5. Start downloading

Activate the graphic screen and start watching like one day cricket "ball by ball commentary" of the downloads and the sites.

This will be revealing for the politicians.

By giving a free computer and a fast internet connection they can easily win the next election by activating all the vibrant porn sites.

Now I know without doing any test why my computer is going at a snail pace in downloading.

But I will persevere and get all the Linux updates due in December by next July.

Or go to Singapore and do some hits there.

I must wind up with thanks to Linux Guys and Girls of KDE.

Please improve K-Torrent to get
Indian spot-fixing (ball by ball betting) live for Cricket World Cup before it’s commencement day and let me know the details of, from where to download the distribution with the new K-Torrents.

Hurry up guys and girls that is where the money is for the next three months
