I will start with"Cat Shit Theory"

The "Cat Shit Theory" of Evasion of Accountability!

Even though, I wanted go digitally silent for good, for reason of my own sanity and public consumption, this piece has become mandatory.

Cat Shit Theory is the closest that, I can get to describe how both Private and Public Services in Ceylon operate.

Niceties first, before I get bogged down with the exposition of this theory.

All the institutions that I visited have dropped the political colour display to a significant degree, in their official costume (but some still wear pale blue overall- I now hate any shade of blue) which was a great plus point.

There are millions of colour shades that a computer can detect but the human eye can contrast only about 256 colours and many of us can only name about 16 colors for certain.

 
If we discard all the colours political parties use, blue, red, green, maroon, still we have 12 more colours.

Why can’t we use them, instead?

That is my question.

One hospital had an attire in apple green which was soothing for a patient.

The workers in the business institution had a reasonably well customized suit but little hint of blue was still visible.

The shoes they wore made obnoxious sounds (high heels) which was very disturbing.

I even hate the sound the slippers make, that girls wear.

Buddha was supposed to walk without making a noise or without even disturbing the dust.

One who is adept at meditation walks swiftly across.

Below, I have some advice, I fished out from the Internet to reduce the sound of shoes and slippers.

I

If you need to stop squeaky shoes, try a quick fix first, such as sprinkling some baby powder under the insole.

If you aren't wearing any socks, put a pair on.

Take care of your shoes.

If they are leather, you might want to oil them.

Be sure to fix any loose heels or soles.

Lastly, if your shoes are wet, you will need to dry them thoroughly.

In my workplace, it seems that for males, the higher up you are in the hierarchy, the noisier are the shoes, almost as if it’s in the job description. Middle managers shoes tend to make a bearable noise level, but when a male VP walks by, I could swear he’s wearing high heels.

Are quality men’s shoes noisier?
Or is this just that executives tend to prefer noisy loafers by design?

I moved into the second floor of a building, right above a family. I've been living there around three months, and my neighbor just told me about this recently. 

The place has pretty bad sound isolation, which is definitely part of the problem.
My neighbor was pretty polite and nice about it.
He said that I'm generally not otherwise noisy, but that I'm the loudest walker who's lived in the apartment in all the time he's been there. I'm not inclined to believe that he's making it up or being overly sensitive.
I'd really like not to be a Horrible Neighbor, but I'm really not aware that I walk particularly loudly!

I don't wear shoes inside or stomp a lot, and am not particularly heavy.

I have hardwood floors, which are kind of creaky when I walk, and no carpets.

I'm not really willing to get carpets.

Are there magic tricks to this?

I generally tiptoe walk indoors without shoes; just land with the ball of your foot rather than the heel. It's not at all awkward or inconvenient once you're used to this.

Better quality dress shoes usually have leather soles and a heel built up from several layers of leather. It doesn't have quite as much give as a sneaker or a rubber sole, so they tend to make a sharp clacking noise when walking on them. I've noticed that even the Allen Edmonds I have with rubber soles tend to make more noise than cheaper dress shoes I've owned, I believe because the rubber is a bit stiffer.

I visited Colombo yesterday, after two year lapse to attend to some work for a “Third Party” bound to a wheel chair.

Two Private Hospitals and a private service that facilitates VISA services for UK and Australia.

The latter had a presumptive need to help a person on a wheel chair but did not have a dedicated individual.

In one of the cubicles, negotiating the wheel chair was almost impossible.

But all these institutions have individuals (not trained, though) designated as security officers.

Business on Wheel Chair is a thorn in the flesh of Ceylon and no government institution has even help for a person gone blind after retirement.

That is the bitter part of service orientated institutions in Ceylon. In the two hospitals, I visited one with a dress code, the runners were used as it to cover up the inefficiency of the service.

A procedure centralized with a proper software (ideally Linux not Microsoft) management, I believe all the procedures could have been finished in an hour the most, but it took 3 hours even after making an appointment at a fixed time.

The doctor was late and there was no proper management system to expedite the process.

Mind you in early 1990s, I was involved in promoting the National Quality Award (for the first time) for the other institution and it has slipped down drastically in its procedural aspects, in spite of the massive expansion of its facility.

All the grand institutions of yesteryear, including the Elephant House Fountain cafe are no more and are gobbled by this institution.

The restaurant was awful and nasty.

I decided to go to Majestic City and bring some food for the patient (while the patient was waiting for the consultation, nearly three hours) after a fixed appointment.

I asked the next in line after us and he had been waiting for 5 hours.

This place was for the visually handicapped and the lighting was very poor, even I could not find the numbered room after going up and down for three times.

The entrance was narrow and did not give any consideration for a handicapped person (no wheel chair) entering.
The security officer was more interested in acting as a traffic warden rather than a nurse in attendance.

Mind you blindness is a big handicap.

If the person did not come with a helper he or she would be knocked down by the next vehicle that enter, the institution.

This is after paying a hefty fee.

What the public announcer saying was incomprehensible, like a railway station in London of yesteryear.

It is no different to public sector except for the time and money wasted.

Now with that preamble with lot of diversion, I would like to expand on the “Cat Shit Theory”.

Cats are very good at covering up their mess after voiding without soiling their paws.

What a blessing if the dogs also had that facility fine tuned in their brain?

My dog of course, make it a point to do it outside, very rarely accidents inside even as a puppy.
We never trained him but he has realized that even as a totally blind soul he wished not to do it inside.

Now come to humans.

They are very good at covering their excesses and misappropriations, just like cats covering their mess under soil.

The difference is they soil their hands and soul with tell tale tracks.

Ceylonese, especially the politicians for the last 38 years (17 under UNP and 21 under SLFP) covered up their tracks as diligently as cats but the only exception is the Armed forces including the Police.

Now it seems the Law and Order Minister has come forward and stifle the progress of any investigation by the AG (with officers of the office aiding and abetting) against persons of wrong doings in the forces.
 

The Lasantha Wicramatunge murder is a case in point and not yet properly investigated.

Not a single investigation has been concluded independently to full satisfaction of a global citizen.

I go under the banner of global citizen.
 

I need to pen down how our excellent public service under British Administration was destroyed by successive Presidents of this country.
All Presidents without exception are bane of this country.
That is why I want it (Presidency) abolished as soon as possible and go back to parliament system.
Then at every electron we can get rid of the rouge elements in the legislature by vote.
 

No list MPs please!
 

Let me start with President Premadasa as a Minister of Land and Construction under JRJ.
He had the canny habit of delivering letters to his followers by hand in every electorate (as a preparation for campaigning for Presidency much later) he visited.
In reality officer in charge can release these letters much earlier without waiting for the Minister to deliver it at his political meeting.
He had directed his public servants to hold onto them (letters of approval or any similar official sanction or deeds) as long as he visits the electorate in his political schedule.
He has a saying that "he will act on anything within 24 hours", though.
So officials of the Public Service collect all the outstanding letters for him to deliver personally and get the credit from his voters.
All the public servants in high officers became his political stooges and redundant in this political exercise.
That is the beginning of the downfall of the Independent Public Service.
Of course there were rogue elements in the public service who solicited bribes for simple work.
That had been in practice from 1970s if not sixties.
This is much worse but a political bribe.
Under his administration many of the Ministers (I decline mentioning their names here and many of them were considered as his enemies) had major mishaps related to LTTE.
LTTE had printed large amount of counterfeit Rs.100/= notes with the sword of the Lion upside down.
The notes were not visibly different from that were official notes but to the touch they felt different.
I was working in a Private Hospital then and one day a chap who could not sign his name paid a large bill.
I happened to be with the Manager and I was bit suspicious of the chap and took the notes from the bundle and palpate them for texture and told the manager, they were fake notes.
I took few notes and held one by one to sunlight and discovered the upside down sword in them.
The manager was surprised but I told him do not make an issue since the patient was still hospitalized and make some inquiries to see who this guy was.
I told my senior of the discovery and he did not object to my investigation.
The guy was a smuggler who bartered diesel and petrol to LTTE in high seas at Kalpitiya.
Then we made sure the patient brought in real notes not faked ones at discharge.
That was my first discovery and within a few months every second Rs.100/= was a faked one.
We declined to take any payments in Rs. 100/= notes for a while.
As it is the government took some time to discover this and the Central Bank took a low profile probably under instruction from the higher ups.
The popular belief then was that the LTTE had delivered large consignment of faked notes through one of their insiders in the government for foreign exchange.
This money was used for buying first cache of arms for the LTTE.
This is to illustrate how we were taken for a ride including the Central Bank.
Then the Bank started destroying the notes in circulation with the sword upside down and started issuing slightly different new Rs. 100/= note with a strip inside over a year.
Little I say about Chandrika's Presidency is sufficient.
Public Service including the Armed Services deteriorated under her command much lower than the UNP regime.
Under Mahinda Rajapaksa total destruction of the Public Service started with fresh appointment of very large number of party stooges to all institutions from Samurdi to Bank (servants).
These stooges did not have any training but political clout.
So in 21 years SLFP destroyed the Public Service including the Education department.
Some of the things, I cannot publish here regarding police officers and school principals.
Just today, I went to pay a bill and the cashier threw the balance back at me even without an eye contact.
I just knowing the consequences I stomached it up and decided to pen the frustration down here.
All the government institution including semi-commercial ones fall into this fold except one.
 

That is the Office of The Commissioner of Elections.
Mahinda Deshapriya and his team of officers are the only officers who could rise up to the need of this century.
 

If they can do it why can't the others follow suit?
It is because when we allow the system to rot for over 20 years, getting them back to serve people takes 100 years or more.
It is an uphill task but we have to start somewhere.
Only way we can achieve this is by sending few of the officials of the former regime to prison for good.
But the current legal system protect them like System of administration.
We were good in doing that until 1977 when JRJ came in and made a mockery (of the current system) of our democracy.
 

If that is not done by the current regime, I wish I should not be born again in this country.
 

I can't go to the Hell too, since its current director is an ex-president of this country. 

 

Banking in Ceylon

If not for the money coming from overseas banks, I would be a pauper.
But I get a notice from Income Tax Department.
I filled it up and stated my local worth is less than 5000 a month, A little over 150 for a DAY.
It is not worth the paper that carried the intimation OF TAX REGISTRATION.

 
In this country Deal Dasas and Mara Palas who are taking us round the mulberry bush.

Big guns are not caught in the small net.
 

We need a net wider than the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean.
 

That is where the money is hidden.

Justice in Ceylon

Some monks observed that certain judges accepted bribes and adjudged cases unjustly.
Hearing the matter, Buddha described the state of the true justice.

Dhammapada verses 256 and 257.

He is not thereby just because he hastily arbitrates cases.
The wise man should investigate both right and wrong.

The intelligent person who leads others not falsely but lawfully and impartially, who is the guardian of the law, is called one who abides by the law (Dhammatta).

It is time for us to reflect and not to let and slip the law into the hands of the ordinary.

It is very slow process in Ceylon.

We need to be patient and bring the culprits to the courts of law.
If they abscond or leave the country they should be tried in absentia.
They judgements should be recorded for posterity as a deterrent for would be aspiring to grab power when the current political pot is boiling like in hell.

Violence in Ceylon

This from verses 137 to 140 of Dhammapada.

This is in response to Rajapaksa Mob Violence.

One who uses violence against those who are unarmed and offends those who are inoffensive will soon come upon one of the ten states.

S/he will incur,
1. Acute pain.
2. Disaster.
3. Bodily injury.
4. Grievous sickness.
5.  Loss of mind.
6. Oppression by the king/government.
7. Heavy accusation.
8. Loss of relatives.
9. Destruction  of wealth.
10. Ravaging fire will burn his house.

Unfortunately these are happening right now in Ceylon.

No Protection from any at the moment of Death

Dhammapada, verses 288 and 289.
For one who is assailed by Destroyer, there is no protection from kingsman.
None there are to save him - no sons, nor father nor relatives

Hunger is a Greatest Affliction

Hunger is the greatest disease.
Samskhara are the greatest ill.
The wise realize this,
So they achieve the supreme bliss.
A poor farmer came to hear the Buddha in a state of hunger.
Before preaching Buddha requested the steward to give him some food to the hungry man.
Verse 203 of Dhammapada.
We are heading for a 20 year famine.
We had 11 year famine called Baminitiya Saya in our Ceylon history when our kings were absolutely corrupt.
We have regime in Ceylon who were corrupt to the core and still holding onto power.
Power corrupts and Putin should not use hunger as a weapon,.
Instead he should feed the Asop battalian with food and wine or vodka and once they are dead drunk put them in prison.
In this Buddhist country we put innocent Ranjan Ramanayake in prison like Navalyani of Russia.
Our military and LTTE atrocities are worse than in any country at war.
But we sent food to the innocent civilians unhampered (LTTE was a beneficiary) during the war and unlike today foods were cheap in price.
Putin has to learn a lot from us, unless he is a sick and paranoid.

War and Piece

Victory begets enmity.
The defeated dwell in pain.
Those who discard both victory and defeat live in happiness and piece.
Verse 201 in Dhammapada, Sukhavagga or Happiness Class or  Business Class of Buddhist Comfort.

Both Putin and Zelensky thrive on enmity and both are bad for World Piece.

Media who portray these guys as heroes are gone bonkers.

The American War Machinery and CIA who programmed this War are also culpable.

UK is not innocent or diplomatic to sell their goods to war mongers.

French are only double dealers and weak.

The Germans with second world war behind them should walk on a tight rope and become piece makers.

Updated Global Assessment of Corona Virus Pandemic

Chicken, Broiler Chicken in particular.

Chicken Flu

These three words and phrases are synonymous with Corona Virus for nearly 3 decades.

Currently it is pig or piscine flu.

Historically Piscine or Pig flu is relevant and that is why Muslims and Jews in Israel do not consume pork (pigs) but all other varieties of meat available on this planet earth.

In Ceylon they even eat elephant meat.

Broiler Chicken Food Chain in my opinion, is central to the spread of the current epidemic and I have inadvertently missed that point.

Pigs and Chickens are part of the super spreader chain by way of Food Chain Transmission (FCT).

Only way to avoid transmission is to rear your own chicken or pigs in small scale and not on commercial scale.

WHO will never venture into these domains.

There are few more points of interest.

CDC head is a cunning "Smooth Operator" and his only desire is to hang on to his post for life and that itself is a disaster ominous.

I call him the "Pass the BuckMan”,not the Olympic Baton Style,  and all the American Institutions are well greased and ingrained in this philosophy of passing the buck up or down (Donald Trump Impeachment headed by Nancy Pelosy is a classic example and she is very good exponent of this ploy).

Ultimately it gets to the Commander In Chief.

To our amiable Joe Biden.

He should get rid of these smooth operators from the main stream, starting with CDC Head, if we are to turn the corner, in this pandemic, spreading relentlessly.

America unlike China has enough resources to bounce back in economy.

Rest of the world may sink including UK but not America by any stretch of imagination.

America's biggest problem is it’s open borders policy from Mexico to Latin America to India and China.

Biden is embroiled in this open borders strategy, not by his design but by democratic party's long term desire to keep it's vote bank appeased and I agree with Trump's "America First Principle" for a particular period of time in American history, at least temporarily, to get rid of the budget deficit and keep  the economy under proper monitory control.

Corona Virus Pandemic should be turned into a stimulus, if they can close the borders on health grounds for at least three years to begin with. I think President Biden under pressure form the left is bending his back on first principles.

Do not listen to the vote bank but listen to the opponents. Every wrong move is a step towards Republican victory.

Lot of guys and girls will give dead ropes including CDC Head, but I am sure President Biden will overcome those distractions and should not look for the next election for policy changes necessary, in this moment of time.

If he ignores the election (let the Republicans worry about it), I believe he can come back for a second term victorious with much more sustainable American Economy.

I think the Democratic opposition to President Putin will backfire, since President Putin is targeting the American consumer psychology long before the election and the price at the pump station will be a decisive. His attack, on oil, gas and capitalist economy in general will bite hard on American consumers both Democratic and Republican.

The longer the war in Ukraine drags it is bad for the American consumer but a good time for the American War Machinery. President of Ukraine  openhandedly dragged Ukraine into American orbit with no sign of compromise once one is dug in a protracted war. That is the plan of President Putin and he has many tricks under his sleeve.

President Biden’s foul mouth uttering or saying words like butcher and regime change have galvanized Russian opinion and that is all what President Putin wanted from America for his political success in the next round of election.

Besides, I believe war was a tactic to divert his failure of control of Corona Virus in Russia. The death in the front line is better than dying of Corona Virus doing nothing at home drinking Vodka for boredom.

But the bigger danger is the fall of Russia politically is ultimate big gain for China. The America won’t be able to negotiate with China, let alone Russia who is an ally of China.

If America lets China to sneak in, itis going to be a Global Disaster unlike the Muslim and Afghan crisis filtering into India and its neighbors. China covertly supported Afghans to undermine America.

That ploy should be stymied now not later.

There are two other equally devastating results of the Corona Virus Pandemic.

1. Food Crisis.

2. Nutritional Crisis

3. The above two determine total Death Rate.

4. Without High Protein Diet one cannot respond to the Vaccine or the Wild Infection.

5. That this Vaccine will solve the current problem is a fantasy created by Drug Companies.

An average American living on food stamp is a total disaster. Food stamp is for sustenance and not for total immune response or recovery. A total stimulus including Good Diet is mandatory.

We went through this in 1970s and currently we are on the verge of total disaster.

An average child is surviving on manioc.

Powered Milk is out of stock and we cannot produce enough fresh milk.The fresh milk is expensive and the supply depends on good weather.

A sustained period of dry or drought will kill our cows or reduce productivity below 10% and it is not a viable industry, at a time when economic and food crisis are looming.

We are looking down the barrel and current government is taking advice from a Gnana Manio (Mother with Vision), a Bogus Woman with image bloated sky high.

There are lot of Bogus Manios in this country.

Pani (honey), Nool (silk or thread), Death Traps (unless one pays the sooth healer a bloated sum) and Pooja Vattis (trays for offering flowers are bribes to the Gods) are the modus operandi operational at every doorstep in Ceylon.

I am doctor in full retirement who did almost kicked the bucket due to proactive Modena Vaccine Jab (MVJ).

I am probably recovering from the Jab Related Myocarditis (J.R.M) and my life was touch and go for several months.

I do not fear to kick the bucket by the Wild Virus (but I hate to give the infection to a third party, not even to a cat or a dog) but not by the faulty Modena Jab.

I was probably given a vaccine containing,     6-six times the required adjuvant  and with very little Corona Virus antigen in it.

My mental make is sharp at present and this is to  preempt any catastrophe to my higher centers in the coming months.

Google under no condition should  remove this piece or suppress it.

Visitors to this blog are less than 70 a day or 1500 a month, so it does not cause any alarm to the health agencies world wide.

My assessment are based on at least 40 years of continuous work except for six months, which I took a break to spending time with the family without any medical ha hoo. The six months break was children's request first and my volition on the second count.

I was never involved in politics except for a brief period to oust a corrupt regime, long time ago.

I resigned from G.M.O.A, since they failed to protect my rights in spite of my written request very early in my career. An appointment I deserved was given to a stooge. But I won my rights on my own legal representation.

After that, I resigned from government service never to join it again and I have a WAOP number but I have not received any entitlements.

I am a Ceylonese and I have No DUAL Citizenship.

I have traveled from Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere alone, just within 24 hours on my own money to see the Sea Lions. In other words, I have seen the world, on my own account.

For the last 20 years I did not register Under the S.L.M.C.

My degree is MBBS (Ceylon).

I have postgraduate qualifications.

My writing here is as a lay person and should not be interpreted as a medical jargon or any valid  information for research work.

It is certainly not gossip or spinning yarns.

All my observation are from September 2019 onward.

Purely academic to begin with but little bit vocal. I think this may be my last, Corona Virus, blog piece, unless lot of sub-comments follow this piece at least to defend my stance politely.

Culprits of the Pandemic are only 3 or 4.

1. Mainland China and Wet Farms.

2. Singapore Airlines.

3. WHO

4. Cover up agents paid by interested parties including Drug Companies.

5. Austria's sky resort dilemma added as a little spice.

But the main cause is under par airline safety protocols.

A) Theory of Lab escaped Virus of high probability.

B) Piscine Borne infection.

C) Delay in investigations for the cover up to take effect.

I have some outrageous suggestion like the mRNA is so tiny, a mosquito can harbour, it and carry it for months apart from infecting pigs.

It is an enterovirus by design that changed it's transmission mode to respiratory mode purely, by accident.

It is only 20 to 30 nanometers andprobably cannot be killed by the current detergents.

It keeps on living or replicating given the suitable environment, using its ingenious methodology.

Let me take a different point of view.

This virus had traveled from North Pole to South Pole in less than a year.

No country in the world is free of its contamination, if not death  and that contamination will continue for another 20 years unless we Stop the Food ChainTransfer (FCT)and the free virus mobility on meat products.

It is my belief, that the  Control ormitigationof the Food Chain Transfer will never happen.

It is very difficult to arrest since entry point to the food chain is numerous and uncontrollable. People will starve to death if we interfere with the food transfer chain. One ship trapped in Sues Canal recently is a case in point.

Economic consequences will outlast the 20 years (plausible prediction) of spread of the disease.

If this is a natural virus (most unlikely and a successful virus never wipes out its subjects) it's determination is to control the world population for the benefit or health of the planet.

In the event, if it is an alien design (for a very long period they would have been  masquerading as humans on this planet of ours, i.e; the inhabiting and invading alien beings) for them to get established (in that scenario it is a virus adopted by the aliens for their propagation and they are manipulating it's spread so that the immune aliens have an advantage in survival on this planet)surreptitiously,on this planet.

You can bear with me, I am not sparing any random thoughts.

1. Number one this virus had traveled with man and it's food chain.

That is why it spans the globe.

2. Singapore Airline was the pandemic breaker.

It is the only country with the lowest number of deaths and confirmed cases.

Why?

I do not believe their records and knowing it as the super spreader, at the beginning stage of the pandemic, it is cooking up its numbers to avoid future litigation by foreign civil agents, if not WHO.

This scenario can go bizarre, if the vaccination program causes more vulnerabilities including myocarditis.

Just like China, Singapore is not a fully fledged democracy but it's richness gives it a bit of a cushion and an international clout.

Mode of transfer are Ships and Mighty Long Haul Vehicles with wet foods produced in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea and Taipei.

My theory of mass movement of food products in the food chain helps to spread the disease holds true here.

Traveling  and Shipments are banned for North Koreans and it has probably the lowest cases per capita, probably, lower than Singapore.

All of them are of Chinese descent and wet market entrepreneurs.

Can you see that the jigsaw puzzle is fitting in nicely.

The final piece is WHO who were bribed to delay reporting the pandemic till December 31, 2019 (WHO deadline for that year).

My Conspiracy Theory is right at heart.

Aiding and abetting is visible and obvious.

It is possible to Genomically Tag it’s Origin but my mosquito and piscine theories make this more difficult.

Mosquito transfer is very unlikely apart from hospital (India and Africa are good candidates)spreadrelated to housefly, a viable but a plausible passive transfer of the candidate virus.

The human race is responsible for this and 30% of the failure is of the administration and the other 70% is the incorrigible humans.

We are in a mess and we all have to get out of this mess. It is a global problem and not a national problem anymore.

Individual countries and companies stocking up the vaccine is not the way forward. It is somewhat, blind expectation that the 70% vaccination will get US out of this problem.

A fanciful imagination.

Lot more efforts and much more vigorous actions have to be in place. There are lose ends in this article and I won't try to hide or whitewash.

It is for the young guys to look at this problem globally from all angles. They should  resist the temptation to depend only on health infrastructure.

Spend the resources only on hospitals, vaccination centers and rely on pharmacies to support their efforts, may bounce back both on economy and well-being of mankind.

I have my deep sympathy to the first responders but I am bit skeptical of the efficacy of the vaccines. Too, true to be good and one vaccine almost killed me

Knoppix and My Puppy Linux Love

My first love of Linux is Puppy Linux which.was less than 100 MB and I could boot a 32 bit computer with ease.
Then went through a period of Pendrive Linux (the site is still present in the web) and gradually settled downed to Debian having discarded Side and Redhat.
But looking at my records I have more Knoppix distributions or CD / DVDs than Puppy Linux.

Puppy has grown in fat or MBs and FatPUP is full of graceful utilities.

My migration to BSD was accidental but thoughtfully integrated since it destroys Microsoft Laptops with ease.
Latest of course is Endless OS that gives scant regard  to Microsoft.

I used to get Knoppix on a regular basis with Linux.Magazine.

It has the most beautiful of all desktop and nothing to beat its flexible and pleasing windows and workplaces.

Linux, especially Knoppox is creatively multitasking and working  on several workplaces has become second mature to me.

Try this on this on Microsoft it FREEZES.

I am.amazed of such a shoddy operating system dominated the world for so long.

Android has become a part of my life and blog scenario (which is going to come to an.end by mid July).

But working in.front of a PC monitor is not like watching TV but intellectually gratifying.

Writing a book with Android is impossible but laptop or PC is entirely different ball game.

That is why I was annoyed botj witj.Mobitel and Dialog for rudely interrupting my Knoppix download twice.

This would.not have happened with wired Ethernet connection which I pulled down hastily.

But I.will survive without wire pulling.

If you have not used Knoppix at least once you are missing a lot.

It has this amazingly unique persistent volume and you never lose anything that you have been working on.

Knoppix comes from Germany and it takes the name from its original.developer.

What a road journey it had covered  for almost over 3 decades.

I think one should send a wireless  USB stick with Knoppix running a Drone on Mars instead of an Android Droid.

Tiny Utilities

When I travel abroad I go almost empty handed except money and a few USBs and Small CDs.

I was looking for Linux utilities and they had nothing in 2009 in Singapore.

It is true even today.

They cater for big companies and hardware and not for OUR needs.

Instead I look for a good Laptop or some fancy handheld scanners.

Coming to small utilities I bought two small CD cases holding only 12  small CDs.

Two of them I did not look for some time and we're full of Puppy Linux, Gparted and Linux Partition Magic CDs.

Now with 64 bit computers running most of the Puppy Linux CDs we're unusable.

The RW CDs I formatted and I kept only Precise 5.5 series Racy Pup 5.5 series and Slako Pup that could boot on a 64 bit computer.

Even Wary was not bootable.

Mind you these CD had only 200 MB capacity and only Puppy could write a sfs file under 200 MB into the R and RW CDs.

It is sad to see these Puppy derivatives dysfunctional except on 32 bit computers.

I wanted AbiWord for my work and even FATPup support LibreOffice.

While I was doing that I found a Data CD with some of my blog writing made in AbiWord.

Accidentally I clicked a file and to my amazement LibreOffice current version reads AbiWord but won't save an edited version in AbiWord format.

This is in Debian 10 distribution and I do not have to convert them NOW to LibreOffice or Words format to read them or edit them.

Thank you very much LibreOffice and you should allow saving new AbiWod documents under LibreOffice hood.

Both backward and forward compatibility.

It is all about removing Macros.

I used Open Office to remove Macros from Words but lately it was only AbiWord.

Since Android cellphones do not support AbiWord, the strategy for LibreOffice should be to support AbiWord and it (a MUST) going to be a real booster for AbiWord users like me.

I am getting tired with Polaris and WPS word formats.

They are bulky.

Bees are coming again

First of all let me say that *Early bees store the pollan and honey instead of early birds catches the worm.
Two varieties. One comes for pollen from lilies and the other from the palm blossoms.
I'm fact the smaller bee I could record in my  spare cellphone camera.
Before I could bring my real camera it had gone away.
Not only early it is quick.
Within one hour they disappear.
Then there is a single wasp or bamara who roams daily in two visits.

Origami Guy and My Japanese Connections

Meeting this guy was a chance occurrence, most likely through MW, I believe. He may have ask some favours from MW and he would have duly helped. Perhaps getting his daughter to a Kandy school with talent in swimming. This guys daughter, I use to buy treats, since she was a good swimmer and spend lot of time on swimming lessons.

Sitting with this friend who is an expert on Origami and having a tea and treat was to put importance of education and not sports. Only a few can rice up the ladder of sports. Doing sports for fun is a different matter. I used to the points point blank but now I use gentle and pervasive mode.

She was tiny and I told him, what she needs is good food and good education and her teachers are using for their fame and not his daughter.

In fact. the teachers are using her.

She gets up at five and come to Kandy, before six thirty in the morning to have half and hour of of swimming lessons from 7AM to 7.30AM the school opening, time. Then he waits until 2.30PM to pick her up with after lessons. The school closes at 1.30PM.

This schedule exhaust both the father and the daughter and his hard earned money in Japan is down the drain as it were. He has a another kid I think a boy.

I told him not to give Origami lessons free of charge and advertise it and earn some money. I could not follow a single lesson and my target was to get my memory back and develop a skill in old age to help my coordination in old age. I am losing bit of coordination and I realize keyboard is my my friend.

Besides, it will make me to finish few more books in double quick time. I also try to master new English words and synonyms are my favourites and I try to avoid using the same word repeatedly but instead use a synonym to go with my fast flowing ideas

I told him she has no energy left to concentrate on lessons. It is far better to lean English and Japanese instead.

Of course, corona virus put and end to swimming lessons and me meeting him for a cup of tea.

I should end this with the all the Japanese Guys and Girls who helped the Dental Faculty to its present standing. It is also closed due to corona virus and a blessing in disguise for the guys who are practicing.

My target was only 50 dental surgeons a year and export them and they went up to 100 not heading my advice.

The first is Dr. Handa and he was an amiable guy and I used to tell him instead of JICA, he should become a diplomat. I lost touch with him and he never game me his email and I did not ask in any case.

The other was Miss Hagiwara, opposite Dr. Handa very reserved and difficult to make any tangible friend. She was a computer lady and had all the Windows proprietary software including statistics with her. She was stingy not necessarily due to copyright issues but her nature. I gave up trying her but got Professor Asoka Ekanayake to demand from her all the software needed for student education in the small computer unit we had.

She had to give in and I built a small network in Linux at home with 14 computers. 

I had lot of time and was doing research work and most of my time in the morning was used in the computer laboratory with SPSS, only available in Windows. Linux has limited software in statistics and SPSS was a proprietary software. 

I also found pirated copies in Kandy streets.

It was no big deal for me to master statistics in six months, only to finish my thesis.

The third guy was with whom I shared my official  room. He was a retired Professor of Pathology and had lot of publications in Japanese but his English was hopeless to say the least. 

I used to do develop my private statistics database on placenta which I did not give to the university. 

All morning two days of the week, I was in Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya getting my data and specimens collected and then I come to Faculty and finish entering them. 

No conversation at all with him but got him to train our technicians in special staining techniques (demonstrations and no talking involved), through Dr. Handa. He was of course was fluent in English. He stayed with us for six months. There was an intensive crash course in English for him by  Dr. Handa and sure enough he made an English presentation and a booklet to go with it. 

I was instrumental in getting the text in the instruction booklet edited. We sent three of our technicians abroad one to two Japan and another to Korea for hands on training on special staining techniques.

I never wanted to go to Japan and learn Japanese or Korean in my twilight years and English and French are my mode of exchange of ideas but fall behind in French as compared to English.

But my cellphone keyboard is In French which I can switch to English effortlessly but my grammer in French is hopeless. 

I thought I could not get one page on KJ in my book of Unique Guys but here I  am ending with 5 pages.

I have inadvertently deleted the entry on Japanese Contribution to Dental Faculty. 

I am going to cut and paste this as a replacement for future reference but I will trim this site to 300 entries moment I finish publishing books at Amazon and have only Linux entries and few on other topis.

This site is named Linux 100 and 300 is three times that target.

I think I have done my honours to Linux in style. 

Tails and its Book Maker

I down loaded, torrent files of Tails and FreeNAS.
Unfortunately my DATA finished and larger of FreeNAS fell short of few MBs.
Thanks FreeNAS for your torrent file.
I do not like direct download.
For Tails I used image writer writer to boot.
It booted well but failed integrity its software.
From the booted OS I made another bootable USB.
Its image is only 1GB but expanded to 4.3GB.
It has a bookmaker utility and makes A 3 to A 5 books.
I tried a book file made of AbiWORD for conversion to book but it failed, saying EOF or end of the file error.
I will do a bit of editing to my big file and see I can make A 5 Book.
I hope Tails improve bookmaker identify ABI and LibreOffice long file.
I hope Tails add custom utility to get real book sizes printed out.

Jumping for Joy

This one is small.
Food is scarce for them due to extremely dry and hot weather not   due to Putin's War of Words and Guns.
Only place they can breed is my fish tanks.
She was going for the rooftop.
Bad idea since my plants pots are  dry and have only two buckets which are used to propagate Vallisneria.
Vallisneria also slowly die.
Frogs need clean water for laying eggs.

Clan of Six

The seventh guy mentioned above was not in the original six but we jumped a ride to Kandy city in the  car which came to pick him.

They were from the south who came to Kandy for business and never went back. They bought land in Haragama which is where our last king escaped from Kandy from British capture on his way to Mada Maharuwara (where he was captured eventually).

It is fitting to end this chapter with a real story.

Three of us were invited for the house warming ceremony. We were broke those days and we decided to walk from Gurudeniya to Haragama (Haragama means a tunnel dug under a steep hill).

We assumed it was a little walk but found it daunting and we reached there at 1PM, an hour late.

Luckily for us, the sumptuous lunch was not ready and we had one hour to refresh with sweat pouring underneath our clothes.

Additionally one of the three chunky bars of chocolates we decided to eat and not donate as a gift. It would look like one has not contributed to the simple gift. We never told him this story and it was top secret and before I kicked the bucket it should be recorded somewhere, for posterity.

Rebirth that baffles me

I working hard on book a "Why I believe in rebirth and do not believe in rebirth.

Rebirth cannot be proved on scientific methodology.
It does not mean science has all the tools.
Mind is cosmological and knows no boundaries.
 

Brain is gravity bound and need oxygen and high pressure suits on the moon.
In zero gravity C.S.F fluid flows in opposite direction and effects sleep diurnal rhythm and critical decision making capacity.
 

But mind can function in outer space effortlessly.
 

What is the connection with rebirth.
The mind can exist without brain but brain cannot exist without mind and heart beat.
Mind can travel in space but for brain to travel it need a spaceship and the brain cannot travel in a cardboard box.
 

Mind can travel out of the body (Near Death Experience) and with this ability it can find another body another vector or host including animal form.
 

I tell my son I will be born next time round as a chameleon.

They have powerful cameras and drones why they showed only one dead soldier out of 3500 claimed.

The general equation is our deaths are less theirs it is 20 times.

I think lot of refugees are dying trying to escape from the human tragedy.

Lot of our Tamil brotheren, died at sea.

By the way, Ceylonese are good at lies and it is in our genes and we thrive on international lies.
When we want to get VISA clearance we use that cleverly even Ukrainians cannot match.
They get caught and we never get caught, since our lies are premeditated and carefully calculated.

This is a million dollar investment plan.

While I was doing a chapter on "Lies and Alcohol" and how a  confabulating rank alcoholic creating, an instantaneous lie for the next draft of tot, this idea came on top.

It is to insert a "Lie Detection Tape on Our Politicians, starting with Wira Wansa.

Now we are manufacturing Face Masks for the entire globe, only a little modification to the manufacturing technique can achieve my goal, for two reasons.

It needs to be mandated how long one can wear a mask.
 

In my belief   it should be only 20 minutes.

The second is how to dispose it without causing environmental pollution.

My design of the Lie Detection has a color code.

White illuminance for truth.

Red for a While Lie.

Green for neutral conversation.

It should be located around the mouth and within seconds of a lie, it should dissolve into the mouth with a bitter taste.

One need not cut the tip of the tongue to get Kasthuri (Universal Medicine) out of an offending guy or girl.

This should not be allowed domestically, since the institution called marriage will not last.

In any case one need not wear a mask at home.

The first million doses or million batch should be given to Anthony Fausi for his consumption.

He is a Lie Factory and he has to finish the lot in one day for the million lies he uttered for China to go  scot free on Coronavirus origin.

One can modify this and copyright is left free.

If we use this technique in the next general election and the same old guys get elected we can say this country has only liars and we only love lies like a confabulating alcoholic.

By the way all our politicians are alcoholics and lying is their professional trade mark.

How to Publish a book in LINUX?

I have to finish this book quick and it will appear soon in Amazon's. Publishing a book in Linux is possible if one cares to learn a few basics.

If you are at mercy of Microsoft Windows you should not read beyond this.

I have just finished page formatting a book of 400 pages and finishing my book on "Alcohol and its Charms" of about 150  pages using LibreOffice, latest version which is fabulous.

Of course, I use AbiWord for removing Macros and perfecting a proof ready pdf file. LibreOffice is perfectly integrated with AbiWord and swooping one of LibreOffice long file with AbiWord is instantaneous.

Producing a big word file is easy but making it print ready is a different kettle of fish. Book comes in different sizes and I will write a book on how to? soon, once I finish writing the books I have already started.

I use Debian 11 for final touch up with latest LibreOffice. Debian does not support AbiWord.  So I go to Emmabantus installed on an External Disk.  It has AbiWord and slightly older version of Libre Office.

I  came across a few problems with getting the Chapter Index.  One can install LibreOffice, Chapter Index only once and once  installed, updating it is easy but deleting it is almost impossible.  So final LibreOffice file is opened in AbiWord and I delete the Chapter Index.  It deletes all the macros in one go.  Once it is clear of macros, I make Section Breaks and Page Breaks and number the pages in the header to make the file print ready in a book format.

LibreOffice has default header and footer and very difficult to customize. Header and Footer can be customized easily in AbiWord.  Once it is done when opened in odt file there are no conflict of interests and one can fine tune the page sizes.

Vertical page size come in standard sizes and I think page cutting machines have vertical limitations.  The width of the book can be made into exact inches but not the height.  After header and footer, page size is an important parameter.

I use 5.4 wide and 8.4 height in inches.

The book can be 7.4 inches in height and 4.4 in width. Width can be made to exact inches, if one wishes. Then one counts the total number of pages for the intended design.

Making header level can go up to ten but I routinely use 3 header levels.

I use big 12 fonts. Liberation sheriff is my favorite. If the book had more than desired pages I decrease the font size to 10 or 11.

Libre Office in Debian 11 is fabulous

The latest version of Libre Office is fabulous.

My lay off from writing over one year was a good omen.

During the pandemic Libre Office Developers have done a commendable job.

I have to relearn all the tits and bits.
Besides, I added a new keyboard and a mouse and the keys feel soft on my fingers.

The old keyboard had few keys that jam especially, the return key which erases few lines in a second.

The redo function is almost limitless.
I am enjoying my writing.
