Reality, Perception and Dimensions beyond our Grasp

Reality, Perception and Dimensions beyond our Grasp

I was a pathologist trying to unravel mysteries beyond our grasp.

At the beginning my professor warned me, for which I am grateful.

He said only 40% is known.

With best of our research capabilities another 20% can be assimilated into our knowledge base, the rest 40% would be unknown.

It will be so; he said.

That put me off and I left the faculty searching for bigger challenges.

Then when I returned after many years under different professor, I explored the above context and found, given the problem, I studied, 32 due to genetics, 28% due to environment, including nutrition and the rest 40% was unknown.

At least I broke the barrier, then established, 50% due to genetics and the rest 50% due to environment.

So nothing more top explore, I delved into computer science.

That was my entry into Linux which I do not pursue with much vigour now, due to entry of Androids as a human interface.

With our limited senses what we can understand is limited in scope.

With new found freedom in the West, many are trying to pursue and unravel the consciousness.

But we are at loggerhead.

I think the consciousness falls into that 40% of unknown domain.

For want of better word, I prefer awareness to consciousness (since there are unexplained words like subconscious, unconscious and near death perception syndrome).

Let me say we are imprisoned in three dimensions.

Mathematically of course there are as many dimensions as 13 dimensions.

How can we enter into the fourth dimension assuming that the aliens who visit us are not in our dimension but within a different domain or dimension?

Supposing these guys remain only in their dimension then they are at a definite advantage and can blindfold us in many ways.

To interact with us, they have to shape change and enter into our (three) dimension at least temporarily and hijack human subject's conception.

This has happened in our history (after Roswell) and this is kept as a mystery from global human conception.

Why?

I do not know?

Is there a secret agenda of guys/girls who are interacting with human subjects?

Or is it an agenda developed by the our secret governments in existence to hoodwink the masses?

What have we discovered from MK Ultra?

Why they have disbanded these inquiries?

I think we are in the dark.

It is not 40% but 60% according to my professors outlook.

The 20% that has been discovered is kept as a secret by the world’s secret dictators of intelligence.

Why?

I do not know.

Conundrum

Conundrum
One year of self induced divorce from political, religious and scientific investigation was a revelation.
For more than 15 years (included books too) I have tried to change the way we think about every aspect of social life.
When I realized that Internet was used by Intelligent agents for eavesdropping not only on opponents (Russia, America, China) but even an innocent citizen (Ceylon used this mentality to induce an ethnic bias), I was very ashamed.
I give priority to privacy.
Me using, Linux was one way of avoiding conflict of interest, with proprietary commodities.
Also to promote copyright law.
I have no political ambitions except helping people who need help (more of education rather than giving a dole).
People who say that they are public servants or political activists (include media, too) have failed to enforce law and order in this country. That started from early seventies and over 50 years now.

According to Victor Ivan less than 5% are convicted all the others are on bail or absconding.

Let me now highlight our fallacies.

1. We procrastinate and postpone action.
The latest victim is MS.

2. The previous government ploy was to use prominent lawyers to protect criminals.

3. NATO ploy, No action but Talk Only Show.
This was our political show.

4. People without brains take up politics as a profession.
Brainy (Brain Drain) fellows leave our shore.

5. They live in other countries, until their retirement and come here to avoid bitter winter but dish out remedies like dishwasher liquids.

6. No recrimination or remorse having done the wrong things repeatedly (J.V.P and L.T.T.E are good examples).

7. No ability for reconciliation.
Hold onto old ideas until they reach 80s and die with them.

8. National papers, especially English publish articles written by oldies little bit edited for the current use.

9. We neglect the youth and their aspiration is to go
abroad even in the kindergarten.

10. Lack of ability to think in present tense (only past glory or future vendetta).

I think above ten statements summarize our predicament.

USB Booting Linux

USB Booting Linux
It is sad, there are only few utilities available for booting Linux from a USB stick or Flash Drive.
1. Number one is MultiSystem DVD that comes in both 32 bit and 64 bits.
It has many utilities including Gparted.
It can boot many Linux distributions except Debian and few of the new Puppy Linux derivatives.
It is from France but it gives multiple language support now.
It can be booted to a USB or Portable hard disk.
Only downside is, there is no root or user passwords.
If you lose the stick anybody can look at your private data.
I give Priority to Privacy Now which is violated by CIA and MI16/15.

2. UnetBootIn
Please follow the instructions given in Pendrive Linux site.
Both Debian and Peppermint Linux do not support, UnetBootIn.
I am not sure Ubuntu supports it.

I have given up testing Ubuntu after Unity Desktop, which they have given up, has gone back to Gnome, according to Linux Magazine.

3. USB Boot-In Utility
In Peppermint Linux there is a Utility that lets you installs a single Linux distribution in a USB Flash
Drive.
I forgot two others with plenty of Utilities.
They are

4. Puppy Linux

5. Knoppix

Debian the clear winner-The Gold for Light and Heavy Weight Championship

Now that the industrial action is over, we brought the Hero to Gyro (not giro and we could not be bought by money circulating on illegal hands or corruption) except perhaps few individual who had vested interests and wanted to be heroes at the expense of the general body politics of our action perpetuated by sheer needs and not aspirations (fell far short of aspirations of accountability, transparency, fairness).
These instant Heroes had unassailable lead and they had to be pulled down to base level and gyrate them on the correct path lest all of us would be heading for disaster.
We never had the political will to bring Heroes to Zeros but the vision to come to the base level we reached way back in 2008 and gyrate in correct orbit instead of asking for miracles which we will never achieve the way we sink into dirty tricks and manipulations by undesirables.

I hope senses will come to body politics of the country, unless of course the voters will bring the Heroes to Zeroes in double quick time at the correct gyroscopic orbit and time and they are not stupid or donkeys who carry burden.
We are of course in the minority in that context and what we can provide is wisdom if not vision.
We came to equilibrium position neither zero nor hero but a position of comfort from where we can gyrate to greater heights if correct recognition is extended.
Otherwise history will take us backward (like in cricket) instead of forward.

Debian
Coming to IT industry where there are commercial heroes but the clear winner which gyrate at the correct orbit is Debian.
It was no surprise.
Score of above 3000 and well above the Gold Standard of 2500 for the standard CD.
For the heavy weight category it is within the Gold Mark where no other distribution has all the components at hand with over 30,000 package well tested.
It has gParted which is around 100 MiB with partition and security features.
It has Blender, Scribus and Inkscape.
Only missing component was O.E.M. component.
It did not have a printed book but thanks to French and the English translation is due soon and available on line as open source.
It has all the versions from Mini to KDE to Server.
It has multi-language support including Sinhala.
It does not pretend to be a (commercial) hero but the wise counsel to all the other distributions which include Ubuntu and extending a hand to Linux Mint currently.
Additionally it is forging with FreeBSD too.
It is the clear winner.
If I said without my marking scheme everybody will say I am biased. Now it is vindicated and flame wars are not the necessity but a feature of Linux and its multi-faceted distributions..
Now I can say with or without bias it is the one that guides us and the Gyroscope for years to come.
If you need a solid, stable and secure enhanced Linux, there is only one and only one.
It is called Debian.
It is not for the lazy souls and it is the one who wants to dig a lot, sweat a bit and enjoy a lot of the hard labour.
Nothing is easy in the IT World.
One has to go into simple command line and give commanding orders till midnight commander sleeps like a sleeping beauty!

MultiSystem Boot CD-Update

MultiSystem Boot CD
An Update

1. Go to Google and Type MultiSystem Boot DVD
2. It is available at sourceforge site.
3. One does not need a SH file now.
4. DVDs are available for both 64 bit and 32 bit computers.
5. Install it on a USB using the DVD.
6. Download few Linux distribution Isos of your liking (Peppermint, Pinguy, Ubuntu). Knoppix, Debian and Puppy Linux do not support this utility.
7. Run the MultiSystem Utility and it mounts a Graphic Front End.
8. Drop your Isos and wait.
9. It writes a GRUB boot file and all your distributions are there according to the order you drop them to the cage.
10. Enjoy Linux on the fly.

What is written below is bit old and one can ignore.

I have written a lot about MultiSystem CD.

It can be used in Windows but I am not going to waste time.
In Linux one can extract the SH file obtained from sourceforge, install it and run with ROOT permission.
It cannot be used as an ordinary user.

If you want to avoid root permission easiest way is to download version 9 from sourceforge, write the image into a CD (make sure it is 700 MiB), (why waste a DVD) and boot up.
It has Gparted too.
One must download all the images (ideally in the hard disk or even an external hard disk) beforehand.
NeBootIn let you download from the site but it takes lot of time.

It is better test the isos by writing on CD/DVD.

What I do is install it on a FLASH Drive First using the CD. (ms.its.precise r9) or even an external hard disk and boot it on RAM and start adding one image after another to the Graphic Till or Cage.
No terminal!
Suse, Fedora and the new Debian (early 8 version supports live DVDs) do not support it.
Not to bother it tells you if it cannot make a live script.
If any of the distributions does not boot for any reason, what you have to do is to mount the flash drive on a Linux session and delete the live folder.
The name of the distribution remains in the Grub File but do not click the deleted one since the Flash drive or Hard disk hangs out looking for for the script.
If that happens wait a few seconds and PRESS the off button. If you do not wait for few seconds it might burn your RAM.
I did all this with on an old 32 bit IBM for three hours with only 1 GiB RAM, while doing (other) multi-tasks, nothing untoward happened.
That is the beauty of Linux.
Ten or more distributions in a Flash Drive is handy!
The mounting partition has to be FAT.

World Cup and England’s Exist

World Cup and England’s Exist

I did not want to make any predictions about the outcome of the semifinals but all the same watched both games with intent interest without any emotions (no equanimity, there).

But nobody talked about the Italians who were eliminated in qualifying round to Sweden.
The difference was one goal in two matches in the qualifying rounds in 2016.

1. I did not want to see Panama in the final 16.
England beat them by 6 to 1 and lost to Belgium 0 to 1.
Panama was beaten even by Tunisia.

2. Most of the African countries, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt do not deserve to be in the Final 16 (not of the class of Europeans).

3. All these countries are contributing lot of Money to FIFA which they mismanage.

Inquiries of mismanagement (FIFA officials) are hushed up for decades.

4. The money could have been better spent on African countries and poor South American countries.

.
I did not want Australia to be in too.

I wished Russia to be in the semifinals but Croatia spoiled it for them.

I was not worried about Germany and Denmark going out, at all.

Their game is boring to say the least.

England should thank Croatia for eliminating them, early enough.

They would have got a drubbing from French.

That would be a bitter pill to swallow.

Now what happened to the South American Nations.

Mind you, Croatia a small country like ours with only 4 millions beat Argentina.

They should put money into poor South American young players.
The good players are bought in by rich European countries like, England, France, Denmark and Germany.

What is left in South America (young players are poorly managed) left to their own devises.

That is the reason for quality of soccer going down worldwide.

Just imagine a final between Italy and France.

I hope Croatians give a decent game to French.

If not we will see China (not Korea) playing quarterfinal against England, next time round.

About the English (all players playing in Europe) players, they are paid huge sums and where there is money there is lack of commitment.

This is what has happened to cricket, too.

They are paid huge sums and when I see some of their performance in and out of the cricket field, it is disgusting and appalling.

Umpires and referees are no better.

That is why there is no crowds to watch cricket.

That is why I watch soccer with more interest than cricket (not even T20, the spoiler game) and stop writing about cricket for a long time.

Indian IPL killed it for good.

That is the bottom line.

Linux Commands

Linux Commands

Linux has a unique way of doing things in a black terminal with commands.

The moment one presses Enter, following a command, it executes the command briskly.

First command, I probably typed was ping in Unix.
The first response or information one may get is the command not found, if there is a Typo.

All commands are in simple letters, never begins with a Capital.

Let me list a few of them here for a beginner.

If I remember right;
xinit & in Unix terminal or startx (starting a graphical front end) killall (if stuck with a command and no response) and exit were the first few commands, I learned.

I did not have the fortune of using a Unix Box, but thanks to early Linux Live CDs, I began a long journey and every book published on Linux was purchased and read, not from cover to cover by the way.
I practiced line by line without a Guru (Book was my Guru).
Unix Made Easy by John Muster and The Joy of Linux by
Michael Hall and Brian Proffitt were the inductors, hard to find then and now in the bookstores.

I collected all the books written on Linux from Linux Bible to all the Redhat Books from Redhat 7 to 8 and later Fedora 6.
Later, I gave up with Fedora and the Linux commands to Graphic intensive Suse.

I gave up Suse when it turned commercial with service edition to boast.
I went to Singapore to buy a service edition but they never obliged.
That was the reason for giving it up.
Then exclusively used Mandrake and Mandriva till it wound up in France.
Thankfully Mageia has taken it forward.

Finally, I settled downed with Debian, Peppermint and Pinguy (Pin-or the Merit Guy). PClinux and FullMonty are worth their titles.
EOS (Endless OS) is a recent addition worthwhile mentioning, now available in Live Base DVD.

Knoppix is my gold standard and Puppy is my favorite.
Sorry Guys/Girls if I failed to mention all the other distributions I used, but strangely enough, I rarely used Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Lubuntu.
I had some aversion to Ubuntu, a point I cannot justify or rectify.
Most probably the lack of books but now there are journals in Linux and Ubuntu.

Coming back to commands,
cd
pwd
ps
ls
cat,
date,
who
grep
awk
sort
wc
echo
more
less were the ones that followed ping.

There are thousands of commands now one needs to know only a few in working life.

About Moon Landing

About Moon Landing

All Truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, Then it is violently opposed, Finally it is accepted as self-evident.”

-George Orwell-

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the Truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Equanimity (Upekka) and English Football

Equanimity (Upekka) and English Football

The term Upekka stands, in a higher realm than Somanassa.

There are other terms like Piti (Joy), Sukha (happiness) but Somanassa has a higher level of appreciation of well being in this present moment (watching a football match won’t let one enjoys this mental calm that is evident in Somannasa, they actually fall to a lower level of joy with excitement and subtle happiness which lasts momentarily, until the next match which may be a loser).

This is written with Russian football fans in mind but let me expand on the word equipoise (Upekka) for one who does not understand its meaning.

There is no clear word in English vocabulary to explain its Pali meaning.

It does not mean mere neutral feeling. Equanimity or mental equilibrium is its near meaning.

Viewing something impartially neither with attachment nor aversion is the state of mind in the feeling of Upekkha which one cannot achieve watching a highly charged game of any kind.

Even with meditation one cannot reach this level of equanimity since Piti and Sukha are close association of Jhana States.

That is why Upekkha realm is higher to Metta, Karuna and Muditha and a state of mind very difficult to cultivate.

I think competitive games is an antidote to Upekkha.

The idea here is to prevent few heart attacks or gambling during the next few days.

As for Russians who lost to Croatia, they should not curse their own players, including the goal keeper.

They should be magnanimous (unanimous, too)  for their organizers who are making the world cup a success for Russian as well as the rest of the world.

Mind you there will be lot of English hooligans and ruffians in Russian streets now.

Give them lot of Vodka or put them in Prison (let them watch the game in prison without Vodka) instead not the poison the English diplomats are concocting and talking about, freely.

I tell you now, even if, the English wins the world cup they will have a mouthful against Russia.

Grumbling is their national pastime and is in their Genes.

Invitation for a Soccer Match in Heaven

Invitation for a Soccer Match in Heaven

I was rudely woken up.

I went to sleep in the evening, expecting to wake up later and watch the quarter-final matches.

The reason for waking up, was getting a invitation ticket for a soccer match not in Russia but in Heaven.

In the dream state, when I landed there, I found very strange things.

1. No Referee.

2. Soccer Ball Multicolored.

3. Football pitch was huge.

4. 50 players on each side.

5.The game is played for one day, earth time not ninety minutes of our time.

Mind you one day in heaven is equivalent to one year in earth time.

6. Plenty of refreshments including multicolored lozenges bad and banned for ourcricket players.

7. The most bizarre thing is that the players change their appearance (it is called shape change) at will which the gods are very good at.

One moment one is wearing the one’s own color of the assigned club.

The next moment one is wearing the color of the opposite team.

Idea is to score more goals for the opposition.

It more of own goals.

The team that scored less wins the game, unlike on earth.

It is like a local club’s friendly match.

The moment one scores a goal his (no she's in heaven) own color of the team appears instantly and the score board allocates the goals to the correct team.

8. It is like war when this game is played on earth.

In heaven it is a friendly and hardly any crowd.

9. I was the only earthling watching the game, luckily in dream state.

Who can watch a game for one day when 90 minutes is way too long for an earthling.

10. No injuries and when they do occur, simple shape change affects the cure.

It was boring and I woke up.

Luckily it was well past 1.45 A.M. and I had to watch only the final minutes of the Russia and Croatia game.

It was a stunner!

Coconut Tales of Tail Spin and the Windshield of Whirlwind

Coconut Tales of Tail Spin and the Windshield of Whirlwind

Coconut tree which lives over 50 years of productive life sometimes more than 80 years if left untarnished by human activity lives behind a tell tale story of the weather beaten life.

If one looks at a human face at 80 (eighty) it leaves behind a sad tale of wrinkles but never leave behind the tale of destruction he or she has caused over his or her life time, leave alone the junk that is collected and left behind.

On the contrary, the coconut tree tells us all the rough times it has had over the years, if we look at the way the trunk had twisted and turned against the air current around it, it bears the true tale of forbearance.

What a contrast?

In fact it can tell the exact time of the last grand cyclone it had managed to withstand on its own.

Unlike the humans they are a barometer of wind currents of today and tomorrow.

If one looks at its leaves, the gentle rustle they create with the wind and how it raises a rhyming tune with some alarming whirring of a whirlwind, foretelling a thunderstorm that is about to land is something we have taken for granted but never given thought in any scientific manner. We take it for granted that the water is abundant but at the same time pollute it in every possible way from Adams peak to the sea.
The same story is true for the coconut tree.
It is vandalized to the stem and we cry hard only when the coconuts go high in price but never cared to listen to its story and the windshield it creates on a daily basis.
My observation days back to my childhood inquiry not necessarily based on any scientific themes. If I wanted to fly a kite I look at the coconut trees and their leaves and then bring out the kite if I consider the conditions are favorable.
Then I go to a place where I can get the kite over the coconut trees quickly and off I go with the wind.
I never paused to think what a service it does as a wind breaker.
This little piece is to finally put to rest and peace of my mind with the wind physics (theory) of biological nature and facts which I call the biophysics of coconut saga.
I should have done this decades ago!
Not only the coconut tree stands to the wind upright but it divide the wind to upstream high and a downstream gentle for us to live in peace. This we forget when we chop it for fast growing development and consumption as timber.
It is the scene of coconut trees that touches my heart when the plane lands at Katunayake. It was strikingly beautiful 30 years ago but now we see s few coconut trees near the airport and the sudden thud of landing.
The landing is also not as smooth as it used to be.
I even go to the extend of saying that the planes used to land smoothly due to the coconut plantation driving the unnecessary tailspin and head wind currents well above the plane as it touches down making it easy for the pilots to land.

Think about it this as food for for thought for scientists who are hell bent on discovering new source of energy along with foot prints of destruction.

I wish our veteran pilots do some study on this keeping in mind those who were on service during the second world war II might know it better than the present day autopilot youngsters. Coconut tree is a wind breaker and a wind-shielder.
Of course it will provide its trunks to climb when the next tsunami comes if we start growing thousands and thousand of them around our beaches instead of constructing polluting hotels that divert the sewerage to the sea.
This is my wishful thinking but I am sure more trees will be down to move the fast development trends of our political mights.
Good Bye my friend windshield and welcome thy whirlwind of destruction in the name of construction!

Raindrops on Coconut Palm

Raindrops on Coconut Palm

I asked some of my students to list 10 important points about coconut tree as a creative thinking exercise and I couldn’t get anyone of them to think it as related to mother nature.

Then I told them we are the only animal species on planet earth who behave like aliens.

The coconut tree purifies the water and present us a drink superior to saline that we inject as a life support in an emergency. In the second world war it was used as saline substitute when things were in short supply.

It gives us water to drink.

It clears the carbon foot print of ours by taking in CO2 and releasing out O2.

The two most important things animal life need for its survival but yet we forget to mentioned them but obsessed with coconut milk and coconut oil.

Why?

We tend to think we are the only important living animals on this planet.

We are the only selfish animals on this planet.

That is true and will remain true for the current century unless we open ourselves to creative thinking and awareness of our mother nature.

We build houses.

We build roofs to protect us from rain and sun.

If we take the plant kingdom.

The story is different.

It lives by the day under sunlight but rest by night but never sleeps.

It takes rain as survival god never complains if there is snow or frost

They are in constant touch with nature and the air currents of change and wind

They are in harmony with all physical elements.

Remain and stay put for another day come sun or rain what it may.

When rain drops fall on the roof and runs through the gutters it makes a constant and a big racket and and I even  find it difficult to sleep at night.

But when rain drops falls on tree tops and leaves there is no rackety pitch.

We only hear the wind blowing but raindrops hardly make a noise. They gently touch the leaf surface and trickle down gently to the soil. No big gush and the roots soaks in as much so that the water that seeps through is clear.

But on a rainy day in a city we see all rubbish and mud that comes out of the gutters and finally minor floods all over the place till the rain ceases.

There are no tress with roots to soak the extra water.

Coming back to coconut tree it leaves take the water in a peculiar way not sen in other smaller leaves. The peculiar way it handles water make it and excellent covering for roofs and thatched coconut leaves that used to cover the village huts did not make a big racket on a rainy day but the asbestos sheets that cover us now are totally different and alien to mother nature.

Mind you the coconut tree takes all the shocks of thunder and lightening too.

If not many of us would be dead by lightening.

The golden rule was not to rest under a tall tree in a thunder storm.

None of these came out of my students’ creative thinking exercise.

What the hell the education system is doing to them in schools and university?

I do not know.

It is said that even in America in the first two years in the university they do not gain any extra incites or creativity.

Why?

Education is now a money spinner.

No more creativity left in it now.

Make money when going is good but leave the students without opportunities.

Bamboo and the Windbreaks

Bamboo and the Windbreaks

Posted on

This fastest growing plant rather a grass is one of the most vandalized plant in this country. Since it is growing fast we take for granted to destroy at every opportunity available and never care to plant any.

I have never seen a nursery for bamboo even though there are hundreds of varieties.
These plants are not seen in the temperate countries and in early as 18th century Americans took them from Asia and started growing them as ornamental plants.
While they do research on these plants we vandalize them.
Why?
We have plenty of them and we do not care for the mother nature.
If I write one plant a day and continue I may have to continue for years how we destroy our wealth of plants.
The plants going extinct were never recorded in our history and we have not even begun to take an inventory as a proactive exercise.
This is not to elaborate on that issue but to state how bamboo tree protects our river beds and roads that run along the rivers.
The do protect the embankments but what our guys do is to chop them at will since they are not protected by the local authorities.
River basin and embankment is nobody’s business in this country.
It also act as a windbreaks.
It cools the air on a warm day with with gentle air currents.
Not only that it reduces our CO2 foot prints.
None of these are taken into accounts since our guys who gets to the parliament have never studied any including social science and not at all pure science.
They use environment issues to form green parties but never practice what they preach once they get there.
If we want to do as little as possible for our mother nature grow a few bamboos around river path and the surrounds.
Like eating a banana a day (not poisoned by UREA) is healthy for our life growing a bamboo a day would protect our rivers, roads and environment (air) too.
That is my message for today.

Why Buddha
Did not
Utter
A terse verse
On the mother nature?

Then again
He is one
Who lived
Half of his life
Under the shade
Of trees and caves
That mother nature
Had plenty then
Even in India

One who shed attachment
To dwellings of
All kinds

Be that it may be
Physical or psychological
He was wise
Not to trod on
To Climate,
Global Warming
A debate which illustrates
The fickle
And transient
Nature of
Material World

But where did he
Attained
The Enlightenment
Of all?

Was not
Under a bright floral tree
Knowing
Even the flora is transient
But under a Bo tree
Which gave
Shelter
From harsh elements
But bears tiny fruits
The avian fauna
Love to eat
When hungry

Didn’t he
As a gesture of gratitude?
Gazed at the very
Bo Tree
In solid contemplative mediation
For a week on stretch
I wonder, I wonder

How can I say
He is not
An environmentalist?
Not by preach
But by precept
And practice
