Nursing Profession in General

This piece is in development

This is a prelude to my comments about doctors in details, globally, later in my book series.

Doctors are duty bound to state a particular leader is mad or gone bonkers for the sake of the sanity of a Nation.

This does not happen in America.
I will leave it at that for the moment.

We have a madman leading CEYLON into disaster, currently. He is only the party leader and he is not in the assembly to dictate terms, and giving orders to arrest 3 Buddhist priests.

Coming to Nursing Profession, I am yet to find a nurse who is dedicated to her/his profession.

Due to many reasons.
1. Atttactive Salary to attract undesirables
2. Lack of Training
3. Large number of vacancies not filled
4. Lack of Job satisfaction
5. Frequent Turn Over
6. Short working hours with as many as 3 shifts
7. Gossiping
8. Lack of concentration
9. Addiction to alcohol and cigarette
10. Lack of prooer Senior management

The list can go up to 20 but I would give some random samples.

I went to a Asiri Hospital in for a formal medical relatee to VISA application.
I was kept waiting for 3 and half hours standing in front of the doctor's clinic.

Episode 1

1. Nobody had the courtsey to ask what I am waiting for.

2. The nurse who tested my eyes had no understanding of Testing Vision

3. The one who checked my blood pressure recorded a wrong high reading.
I do not think my anger of waiting did raise my BP.

4. My hearing which is pretty good was not tested.

5. Did not say why urine was tested
Bacterial Culture or Sugar

8. Creatinine was requested without Reasoning.
After Coronavirus myasthenia episode, of course, Serum Creatine Kianse was a bonus but it came out  OK.
But I did not believe the result.

9. No clinical history recorded.

10. Nobody asked who I was.

11. Laboratory technical staff was prompt since I told them I am retired doctor waiting in limbo.

12. My guess the doctor who examined me was out from a private medical school and who did not yet has recieved a proper government appointment.

After eveything over, I told the lady doctor that I am a retired pathologist and waiting 4 hours was not intended and I am going to post a blog post no sooner I reach home.

Episode 2
This is in England.
Nurse who prepared my first cup of tea in English in a hospital put SALT instead of Sugar.
I did not complain but returned the cup full.
I did not know it was a mistake or deliberate. One of them was from African.

Episode 3
One of the Nurses who cut the finger of the baby when dressing after IV canulation.
She was either drunk or having withdrawal symptons of alcohol
She was a white woman and I immediately reported the incident.

Episode 4.
A nursed crushed a neonatal baby with her own hands and put the onus on me.
I watched her doing it and reported it to my consultant immediately.
That saved me any litigation but she was removed immediately.

Episode 5
Many episodes of wrong drug given to the wrong patient

Episode 6
Not related to me
It is Titled Murder in the NHS
She is in prison for 30 years.
Just like the Catholic Father who killed his wife in CEYLON. Double Murder by Father Matthew Peiris
She killed 7 babies and attempted to kill six more.
