Ubuntu Studio 21.10 Version on Top of Ubuntu

Ubuntu Studio 21.10 Version on Top of Ubuntu

I am really stupid when deciding which distribution to Install in my small SATA disk mounted on Intel NUC basic.

I install the basic installation which is 4GB and then add on the additional applications.

In case of Ubuntu, I should have install Ubuntu Studio instead.

It also has office package and and all the audio video packages.

It only 1.7 GB of additional space that is required for Ubuntu studio.

Only missing item is Abiword, which I will add moment I boot it.

That is what am doing now.

Not only that I let it boot automatically at boot time.

It is OK for me in my retirement but for young guy who wants to edit and post his or her videos on YouTube, one need only Ubuntu Studio by default.

Make sure you download from a torrent file not D2D direct download.

Ubuntu Studio is a classic distribution for film artists!

One more point of interest, one should have at least 16GB of RAM to make best use of Video Editing.

Do not try it with 4GB RAM.

I added Box utility and Kodi to Ubuntu Studio repertoire and it did freeze a bit with 8GB RAM.

Yes, Box utility which I installed after rebooting did not recognize the iso or ran on the virtual machine.

I did not have this problem with Ubuntu 21.10.

It was a software problem not a RAM problem.

Require libraries were probably not there.

I am going back to Good Old Ubuntu and installe Gnome Box in it.

Steam OS

Steam OS

I have manged to download Steam OS iso from a torrent file accidentally found.

Yes it can be installed in a hard drive.

It reserves a large file for files in /var/reserve for the games and the rest as a home partition.

In fact I installed it over my Ubuntu Partition and erased it within 24 hours to install Ubuntu again.

This has nothing to do Holo Os, I could never find as an iso file.

It is fairly recent iso and good to have if you are gamer.

Nobara (Fedora) and Ragata (SuSe) I was never impressed.
