Political Bombshell of Ceylon Unlimited

Yes this is a political bombshell.

Anything can happen in Politics in Ceylon.

It is time for me to blast it now and then go into hibernation.

I am a good observer and not an astrologer or a political strategist.

My gut feelings are that nobody can get the 50% of the threshold in a Presidential Election, in spite of various alliances made before the election.

Political division is deep.

More than likely General Election is due in August having dissolved the parliament in early April.

I would revise (there is an old piece here on this site) my percentage political representation from worst to most popular party.

They are as follows having perused old trends.

1. SLPP.      4%

2. UNP.        6%

3. SJB.       20%

4. SLFP.      25%  (assuming Chandrika in the fray)

5. JVP.        30%

6. Bombshell Party.  10%.

7. Tamil parties 5%.   25 seats minimum

This is a General Distribution Curve skewed to the right for the JVP Peak.

How the seats (out of the 200 left) would be distributed for each party is difficult to predict, except in the North for Tamil parties.

Tamil parties would gather 25 seats.

My assumption is that the Buddhist monks will form the Bombshell Party.

My reasons in general terms are none of these parties represent the monks after the election.

They use them during elections and dish them out afterwards.

They may have several monks speaking for the political parties, in traditional terms BUT majority of the monks have become delusional by their presumed political power with the Sinhala masses.

That is the reason for their participation in forming a Bombshell Party.

One monk in particular from the North Central Province is showing all the signs of his preparation for such an event in spite of opposition from other senior monks.

This trend will build up since some young monks in remote villages are not getting their mid day meal regularly since villagers have become absolutely poor.

These monks won't move to Colombo or Kandy.

They have no option left.

The ground situation is ripe for a Bombshell Saffron Party.

It is inevitable due to prevailing circumstances.

I hope my prediction would  not come to fruition.
